We stayed overnight in the Hotel in July 2010, en route from Manchester to Naxos. The hotel collected us from teh airport and next day transported us to the port on Santorini. Very helpful. They charged us a sum of 14 euros however that sems to be the going rate on... more

Loved the Matina
For the value, it cannot be beaten. Has a great pool with bar and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
Small Hotel Excellent Service and Value
Left a hotel in Fira to come here...small hotel 10 minute walk from the beach, lovely cool boutique style reception, fab pool and bar with lovely wicker sunbeds and massive brollies.Vangelis and his wife very helpful.Big breakfast including cereal, yoghurt and breads.Rooms large with a/c,hairdryers,plenty of towels-a perfect spot in a perfect resort.Book now-you won't be disappointed!!!
Just perfect
I book this hotel not having better choice for the price I planed to spend for hotel and because the one I wanted was fully booked...and what a surprise! It was just perfect! Absolutely beautiful, comfortable, clean and just great for 66 Euro par night that I paid by internet booking directly with hotel (they even give discounts for internet booking). The people are very friendly and extremely helpful; they were helping with anything we asked. The room was SUPER clean; air conditioner is pretty new and very nice little balcony with garden... more
5 stars!!!!!!
Hotel Matina is probably one of the best hotels I have stayed in in Santorini. I stayed there with 3 other friends for 4 days in May and we had an amazing time. Everyone was so welcoming and made you feel like you were at home. The room was so clean and so great and the pool area was incredible. The beach and anything we needed was so close, we never wanted to leave kamari. Overall I would suggest this hotel to anyone going to Santorini. It may not have the caldera view, but you can just drive to it any time you want. we will def. be... more

Loved Hotel Matina
spent 3 nights at hotel matina, we got an apartment with a kitchenette. It was a great room for a good price. The hotel was clean and beautiful and the buffet breakfast prepared every morning was the best I have ever had. That said, we had one problem with hotel matina - the owner tended to be a bit aggressive. He wanted to tell us what tours to do and what company to do them with (naturally they were more expensive with him than elsewhere) so we chose another cheaper company and subsequently got in trouble. It was like being in pre-school.... more
Absolutely Perfect
Can't praise this hotel enough - from the time we were collected at the port to the time we were dropped off again. The operators were as helpful as could be and the whole place was spotless. Perfectly located in a quiet area yet only a few minutes to the bustle of the town. Great breakfasts, great bar service, we left the hotel feeling the operators were our friends for life. Just can't wait to return.
Hotel Matina: Tasteful and charming
I agree generally with the write up above. I prefer the beach to Fira or Ouia unless you are really splurging for the great caldera views. This was a lovely, tasteful hotel with a great pool and bar. The rates (15% discount) were 56 euros for a double, 90 for four (triple plus extra bed for a child), 4 euros per person each way for the transfer. About a 5 minute walk to the beach. Nice pool with a food and drinks bar. We did the same dinner at the Pyrgos cafe, plus a sunset over the caldera at Santos winery with a bottle of wine.... more
3 M's- Magnificent, Marvelous & Most Accomadating
LOVED THIS PLACE! The family owned hotel, run by Mr. & Mrs. Sigala and family is a jewel of a place. The flowers and plants that abound on the property are gorgeous and the place is immaculate. Both Mr. and Mrs. Sigala bent over backwards to accomadate our every request and Maia the Bee at the pool bar was delightful. Our room #18 (thanks for the tip Robert Wakefield) was great and was on the second floor overlooking the pool and facing the large mountain that separates Kamari Beach from Parissa Beach. Best of all, this hotel is very... more
Beautiful Hotel Matina, great location, great price!
After ending our trip to Italy we continued on to Greece and island of Santorini where we were greeted at the airport by Vigalis, the owner of the 27 bed Hotel Matina, holding up a sign with our last name. He whisked us off in his van to the hotel, while giving us a tour of the island. After our arrival and unpacking we asked for some recommendations for places to eat. Vigalis took us to a local spot on top of the hill where we were able to try some authentic Greek cuisine. We started off with wine, seven or eight starters, lamb as main... more
