Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park reviews

Aug 2011, jojo

We have stayed in many places in Devon and quite a few in Woolacombe but this is the best value for money. We had a chalet which was beautifully equipped and clean and had great views of the sea. The pools are small but very nice especially if you pick your time to swim... more

great short break
went for a friday-monday short break with partner and my 2 year old daughter. Got our caravan around 1ish which was pretty good seeing as they advertise you being able to get it from 3pm. We booked a 2 bed buttercup,we were right at the front of the camp which was great. The caravan was ok although bit small, bed wasnt that comfy either. But we wernt that bothered as only paid 80 pound for it. Caravan was fairly clean and altho it doesnt advertise that u get a microwave they have them so was handy for warming up my daughters stuff.... more
very disappointed
Ihave been to several holiday parks and this one rates as the worst. on arrival we entered the caravan (estriol) it smelled of ciggarette smoke and damp, as we looked around the caravan it was filthy, the bathroom had not been cleaned there was stains in the toilet. we ended up cleaning the caravan ourselves. the caravan was shabby the fire and cooker didnt work properly. we spoke to one of the cleaners she informed us that the bedding doesnt ever get cleaned, therefore we had to go out and buy some sleeping bags. i would... more
disgusting caravan !
Date 23.09 just returned from a weeks holiday in woolacombe bay stayed at holiday village parks. first time on a caravan park holiday and last !! When we approached our van G2 first thoughts were it looked dated ! when we got inside it was horrible ! It smelt of damp, had mould on the curtains and was dirty ! Did not expect after traveling for 4hours that id be cleaning toilets and removing dirty blood stained bedding ! It was replaced at reception by a clean but fag marked one. Although the view from the van was fantastic the smell from it... more
Surprisingly good
We booked direct through the website, and then I read the reviews so was beginning to feel a little worried about what I had let myself in for. We booked a pet friendly Estoril caravan (we don't have any dogs but it was cheaper than others, took some air freshner and febreze just in case). T he caravan was nice and clean, our only problem was the ignition didn't work on the gas cooker, when we told reception we were given a gas lighter to use, five minutes later maintenance arrived to say that all ignitions are broken due to sea... more
Enjoyed our break at Woolacombe Bay
I booked this break directly through the Woolaboombe Bay website and a week in June staying in a 'budget' 4 berth caravan only cost £120, a bargain as that includes all your electricity, clubroom passes and most onsite activities. Our caravan was fine, clean, tidy and well equipped. The bathroom is tiny as expected and my only gripe was that the water power was rubbish, the water came out in not much more than a trickle and it tended to go from freezing cold to boiling hot so beware if you are showering, especially children. The... more
Wow !!
Well after reading a couple of the previous reviews I was unsure of what I was about to book, but WOW am I glad I went by the lovely young lady I met by chance in the Midlands on this big yellow/fun looking converted libery van. her smile and enthusiam sold me a short break with a couple of freebies as I booked through her ( how easy was that). Myself and family arrived at The Woolacombe Bay Holiday Village ( 1 of 4 in woolacombe) before our allocated caravan was ready but we were shown where we could go for a well awaited cup of tea or... more
Not a bad short break!
We booked a short break direct through their website and paid £275 for a 5 night break - Mon - Fri 27th-31st Oct 08), which I thought was pretty reasonable for half term week. The caravan was ok, carpets clean and bedding smelled fresh, kitchen also relatively clean. Bathroom could have done with a good scrub as there were still previous guests hair present! Shower wasn't too bad, nice and hot and the central heating worked a treat, especially as it was freezing outside. I arrived on my own with my 2 children aged 5 & 2. The... more
So glad to be back home....
Difficult to know where to start ! Following a 5.5 hour journey and arriving at what we believed to be our destination, we were cheerfully advised by a receptionist that we were, in fact, at the wrong park. It appeared that even though a large sign outside of the entrance of the park boldly displayed the name of the park to be 'Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park,' we were actually at The Golden Coast. Later on in the week we were to learn that perhaps the site owners may be suffering from some level of confusion as just outside of our park,... more
