Alta Beach Hotel

We arrived after a long four hour transfer from Izmir (don't believe Jetline Travel when they tell you that Izmir airport is only two hours away). Our first impression of Alta Beach was not good - shabby looking reception, no english speaking staff so that we could easily explain that we needed two rooms together (I was travelling with my mum and two teenage daughters). We were there for only a week but wish it had been longer. Yes the food rooms were basic but clean, small problems were sorted very quickly if you just used some common sense. The location was superb with great views at meal times over the marina and sea beyond. Swimming pool was small and deep but kept very clean, for the size of the hotel it was adequate and never overcrowded although the weather was very hot and there was a smaller pool adjacent for children or non swimmers. We arrived after a very long transfer to be greeted by a very friendly entertainments manager, checking in was swift and our cases taken to our room and what a lovely view we had on the terrace over looking the sea and the marina we could not ask for more. I was also at the Alta Beach mid April and stuck there due to 'Volcanic Ash'! I went with my 5yo daughter and my 16yo son and his friend. The kids loved it as they dont care what they eat/drink, how warm the showers are, how warm the food is, etc! I loved it thanks to all the wonderful people we met, we really had such a laugh but you do have to make your own entertainment as an adult. So if you go to Alta beach and pay what most of us paid (in the region of 250.00) I don’t think you have anything to complain about. I found the hotel to be very clean, which I think is one of the most important things. The reception staffs don’t speak hardly any English, but then they aren’t in England so technically why should they? The entertainments guy speaks very good English and most the time if you have an issue you have to go to him to for help. Receptionist could not speak English. Apart from that nice cosy hotel fantastic value for money. Good Food. Basic room but clean and hot showers. Friendly staff and great location. There's truth in the saying 'you only get what you pay for' when you book and stay at this Hotel. I give it a 1 star for the location which is next to the Marina and the pool area. Also the bread and jam for breakfast was okay but the coffee WASN'T, it was horrid!!! The rooms that we had (3 in total and which were all the same standard) were awful, mine was out the back, next to the boiler room so you might think it was warm but NO, it was cold and damp and stank and I wouldn't even have a shower in the bathroom if you paid me!!! We stayed at Alta beach the same time as the two previous reviewers and whilst agreeing with their comments we would like to add ours.On arrival we were given a pool room which was ok but once you go up to the terrace area and see the view of the sea and marina a sea view room is a must..We tried to book a sea view but that is not an option say the companies ,even offering extra.The hotel should have a price structure for rooms.The side rooms have no balcony or decent view .How can you pay the same price.We were moved to one of the six sea... more

yes shower room was not so good but our room was bright with great views food was not hot but for 250 pounds for two weeks great and the company was great to so hi ken and chris dave and jenny great holls pat and bob from hornsea

I have just returned from an extended stay in this hotel.In the info,it stated that all rooms had a balcony with a pool or sea view,a mini-bar and a hairdryer.Our room had none of these things and from speaking to other guests,niether did a lot of the other rooms although we appeared to be the only ones with no balcony or view.DO NOT ACCEPT ROOM 3106!It was on the ground floor,near the back of the hotel about 2 feet away from a side road.The daily delivery tankers and overnight coaches parked outside our window which meant we couldn't have... more
