Overall this is a nice hotel and we enjoyed our stay here. The Hotel is nicely situated on the beach and at the start of the main strip. 20 minute walk to the main part of the strip though and the beach by the hotel is rocky.
We did pay to upgrade to a Superior/ Deluxe room, a foolish mistake. As when we arrived all rooms are the same size regardless of upgrading. Rooms are very small as well and not really 4 star standard. The third bed would be a camp bed, but where you would fit that I do not know. The apparant upgrade was for the sea/ pool view. We were looking straight at other balconies, which alot of the rooms do because of the way the hotel is built. Mind you if you went to the corner of the small balcony and stretch over you can just see the pool. So we did feel extremely cheated by this.
The food was very good with a wide variation of choice and something for everybody. Drinks in the bar are quite pricey, but that is the same everywhere in Lanzarote at the moment. Entertainment and resident duo every night were good, also sporting activities offered during the day. No kids club or activities which was great as we didn't have kids with us. Good Hotel for couples or adult groups only.
Unfortunately you do have to get up very early to get a sunbed, there are a lot but people put towels on the beds and dont turn up til later in the day. The beds are packed in like sardines and there is a sign requesting people not to reserve beds but this is not followed up.
Receptionists and all staff were very pleasant and helped as much as possible to make our stay enjoyable. When checking out we were also offered another room to use later in the day to wash and change which was very nice.

Arrived after a good flight from Newcastle to a long wait to get your suitcases. This took more than an hour. Waited another half hour for a taxi, but as Thursday is probably the busiest day for flights you have to expect that.
Got to hotel which was very nice. Reception staff polite and efficient and kept their cool when an irate British woman was having a go at them.
Room not huge but spacious enough. We were looking onto the gardens and could see the sea slightly. Maid service very good as well.
There was a lot of choice at mealtimes but my only complaint was the temperature of it. As a chef I knew that it should be hotter, but I must say we never had any after effects. Quality was good and there is a different separate theme every night.
Poolside was very big and lots of sunbeds. Weather was great for the time of year only a couple days of cloud and rain.
I couldn’t get over the ignorance of the guests there, some of which had no manners and mostly it was the British people.
We didn’t do any trips as I used to live out there so have seen all the tourist attractions.
We went to a lovely restaurant Calle cafe ola which is near the casino. This is the coolest place ever. You can get a drink and lie on their sunbeds overlooking the ocean and there is a pool there too. Very reasonably priced drinks and food and there is a masseuse called victor there who is very good. I loved it there.
Had a super holiday. Would I return to san Antonio? Yes maybe.

The San Antonio Hotel is 4 stars and is a very good 4 star hotel. Staff were always very helpful and friendly.
There is plenty of choice at mealtimes and even for vegetarians. The rooms were moderate in size, very nice bathroom. Every room appears to have a sea view.
The balcony area was basic however the view of the well kept gardens and ocean view made up for it.
The pools and hotel grounds were very pleasant, will definitely return to this hotel in the future.

This is a lovely hotel on the beach, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff are friendly and extremely helpful.
The food is very good, cooked to a high standard with lots of different choices each evening. We had moved from Play Blanca because it was too quiet but found Puerto Del Carmen a much livelier resort.
There was a lot to do but the hotel was just far enough out that you were not going to be bothered by people leaving the bars in the early hours of the morning.
I would recommend the western night at Rancho Texas, the entertainment is great as is the food and free flowing Sangria, beer and soft drinks which are included in the price - you even get a chance to ride the bucking bronco.
We also went on the Grand Tour which took us to the Timanfaya National Park where you will see demonstrations of how hot the Fire Mountain is.
It is good but it is a very long day and can get cold up in the mountains so take an extra layer and sturdy trainers.

Excellent accommodation, staff were friendly and mostly helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable with the option of upgrading to minibar, regular daily maid service was prompt and efficient.
My stay was during the world up and the hotel took this into account showing all the matches and offering free drink, the only downside was that the commentary was either in Spanish or German.
The food is amazing and a good variety is provided every night. Entertainment was poor of an evening and the couple that we went with had been the previous year and said that the day time entertainment was not as good however the hotel boasts.
A good location with a ten minute walk to the strip of bars and restaurants.
Would definitely go back to this hotel but preferably with a different tour operator My Travel were not very organised on arrival to the resort or traveling back to Arreceife.

We’ve stayed in a Villa not far...

Sep 2004, Miss HJ Ward

We’ve stayed in a Villa not far from this hotel, so we knew the area quite well before we arrived.
Hotel is lovely - me and my partner were 20 and 19 when we stayed and we found it to be fine for what we needed: we went to relax, not to get drunk every night... if this is what you want to do, this hotel probably isn’t for you. We were some of the youngest of the hotel guests (mainly because we went during term time), so it was quite quiet.
However! The good news is if you do want to go get drunk every night, visit loads of clubs etc, well, you’re not too far away!! It’s probably a 15 minute walk to the rowdier end of town, with loads of shops and bars and restaurants on your way, so it doesn’t feel that long to walk! There are restaurants and shops and a mini-supermarket really near the hotel, so if you’re B+B like we were, it’s never too far to go for food. You must check out Pizzeria Napoletana - the waiters are fab, and the glasses you get your drink in are just as cool - they’re shaped as boots. If you’re as immature as me and my bloke, you can have hours of fun walking them round the table :0)
Almost opposite the hotel is a crazy golf/trampolines/bar area - my boyfriend and me went there three times... we had a golf tournament.. I won! It’s always good if you don’t want to walk far, but you want to get out your room.
Speaking of rooms, ours was fine - not huge, but not so small that you felt claustrophobic. It was clean and well set-out - plenty of room for my luggage!
The pool area at the hotel is fine - sometimes you come out and think 'errrrrr', but that's usually due to the amount of sun cream in the pool - seriously, you’re gonna get that anywhere you go. The beach is very near - we tried to avoid the main Playa Grande (I think?) - as you look at the sea, that beach is to the right, about 20 minutes away. We opted for the bigger beach, but with less people - as you look to the sea, it’s on the left of the hotel. The beach we went to was really clean - the other one was horrible, talk about the English messing things up.. grrr.
If your flight is on an evening (I think the check out time is about 11am??) the hotel will keep your bags in a room downstairs so you don’t have to lug it round all day. That way, you can leave it behind and catch some last minute rays before you head home. Perfect!
Oh, and the weather??! Amazing!! Best part of the holiday! I've only ever been in July before, but I thought it was hotter in September. If the wind stopped... ouch! The sun would feel like it was burning instantly. LATHER ON THE CREAM - NO EXCUSES!
Well, I recommend it here anyway - not amazing, but definitely not what you’d expect for the price - I was very happy!
Enjoy!

Fantastic place! Great hotel right on...

Jul 2004, Mr G Wilson

Fantastic place! Great hotel right on the edge of a large touristy part of the island, but only a short journey from the more traditional parts, and the unspoilt national parks.
Fantastic outings and experiences were available from the operator including helicopter rides, submarine excursions, loads of outdoor activities, etc. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Our only regret was only having 10 days to explore!

This for me was the perfect place to stay, I went with my boyfriend in June 2002 but when we left he was my fiancé! The hotel was so clean and pictures, it was a dream holiday and reasonably priced. I liked Lanzarote because it was very hot but had a light breeze, which made it not too hot. This hotel had a couple of swimming pools, tennis courts and all the shops/restaurants were walking distance. I stayed on a half board basis so most nights we dined in the hotel restaurant, this is a buffet style dinner. The food was adorable and offered plenty of choice. The evenings were lovely in Puerto del Carmen, perfect for a stroll along the sea front. I found the staff at this accommodation to be welcoming and helpful and I cannot wait to return to San Antonio hotel, Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote.
