The Horseshoe Inn

We stayed in this hotel for two nights this week and found it very friendly and a great atmosphere. The food is great and the rooms are very good. We had to leave early on our last day { 5am} and the new managment had our breakfast ready for us. We would like to thank Adrain & Sarah for their hospitality/

I booked to stay at this hotel as a family member was getting married there. The room was small, filthy, and items from previous person were still in the room. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The food at the wedding reception was not what was asked and paid for. There were no staff available, but I have to add that the very few bar and breakfast staff that were there were as helpful and friendly as they could have been under the circumstances. We started booking this hotel a year ago, so our wedding guests would be close to our wedding venue at the end of May. We wanted 6 rooms for the Friday night and 10 rooms + the bridal suite on the Saturday, quite a simple request you would think? Well think again We requested confirmation of the room booking, and twice we received letters which was incorrect (one we had to pay the postage for). Considering that I only stayed there between 3pm and 10am the next day, the following happened: - No-one at the check-in desk at arrival - After check-in, found the room was not made from previous occupant - Told to come back in 1.5hrs so it could be done, but given upgrade after complaining - Upgrade room had dirty mugs and trays from previous occupant - The lights and the plugs went dead numerous times due to sensitive fuses in the Inn - The bathroom light cover fell off and struck me - The breakfast was... more

Didnt book until 7pm and arrived about 9.15pm. Not particularly busy but had to hunt down staff to book in. Room was four poster and very spacious with modern bathroom however there was no shower or means of hair washing. The room was quite clean with good thick curtains and freeview on the tv. Breakfast was ok and in general the service was friendly. Our room was over the bar and did suffer with some noise. Checkout was 11am and again we had to hunt staff down as reception was unmanned. We would probably stay here again.
