Power would have been nice
We were initially pleased when arriving to find we had been upgraded to a villa- until we got there! The villa itself appeared nicely appointed, until you looked closely- everything was poor workmanship and not 5 star standard. My husband and I had to sleep in separate beds (2 doubles provided) as we spent the entire night with no power, meaning NO AIRCON (not great in 40 degree heat). The restaurants were empty and sad looking so we chose room service- we got no cutlery with our meal (which was cold by the time they brought it), no bottle... more
Dishonest room charges
Hotel is new. Rooms are clean and reflect a modest but adequate level of comfort. Hotel staff was not friendly. Additionally, upon check out, a billing error was found. An erroneous room service bill was produced. A copy of this bill clearly indicated that the food was not accepted because it hadn't been ordered. The desk manager refused to delete the charge. In a effort to defuse the situation the bill was paid. I would not recommend this hotel. There are others in town that are more friendly and conveniently located.
The Best Of Aswan
Actually, this hotel is the only good thing about Aswan! It was clean, spacious, with so much to do inside. We spent most of our time in the hotel and it was so enjoyable. & it’s not far away from Aswan air port. It took about twenty minutes to get to from the airport.
A little bizarre
We adjusted our honeymoon itinerary at the last minute so we could spend one day and one night in Aswan, so we showed up fairly late at night after trying another hotel that was full and asked for a room. A bargaining war ensued, and eventually they gave us what I can only assume was not a great deal, and when told it was our honeymoon, upgraded us to a better room. Upon arrival at the room, no AC was on, so it was hot and smelled like cigarettes. We were too tired to fight it and went in anyway. The shower was the first oddity.... more
Avoid this hotel
I am from the UK and currently living and working in Aswan unfortunately I am living in this hotel. Yes the views are great, rooms are ok but I have not been able to have a shower since January. Despite informing the hotel management that the showers do not function 5 months later this is still the case!!!!
Doesn't live up to expectation
I was very impressed when I first arrived at the hotel. Large and spacious public areas and good sized rooms. However, although it had apparently been open six months, there still was a lot of 'snagging' to be done. For instance, the tiles in the large bathrooms were covered in grout, they had never been wiped down. The sealant around the bath was dreadful, looked years old, not months. There was hardly anyone in the hotel so we were given front Nile rooms -which were brilliant. Internet access was free, which was great too. The... more
Breathtaking View
Stayed 3 nights at this brand new hotel. Mr. Tamer, the manager of this well designed, luxury establishment, was very helpful in booking our room via the internet. He also aided in booking our Nile cruise with Crown Jubilee, their sister company. The front desk was very effecient, especially Tina. The room which they they allocated us was huge, clean & super bathroom. View fro the balcony looked straight onto the Nile & the mountains, We could also see the Aga Khan masoleum. The safe in the room would not work, but Tina had that fixed... more
nice hotel but poor facilities
i only stayed there one nite and i was upgraded to river side villa next to the pool and river nile. The room was nice but the shower room was terrible, water kept leaking out as u showered, the whole room was like a pond then we found out there was no plastic lining along the edge..., as it was so close to the river nile, the horn of the cruises might be a problem too, i was being waken at midnight ..
3rd world "luxury" hotel
My first thought on seeing this place was cement monstrosity. It's huge and with no landscaping, all cement everywhere you look. Compared to Western hotels, everything is a little off, such as the garish decor, sagging mattress on bed, security guard who doesn't check anything, loose wires coming out of walls, no steps into the swimming pool, bad breakfast food, etc., etc. etc. The bathroom was of good quality except the lack of cleaning under the sink. And the nile terrace view is very nice. Overall for the price, this place did not... more
