You can be assured of a very comfortable stay at the friendly and welcoming Rocamarina. The Rocamarina is for mainly couples. The Rocamarina Hotel's recently refurbished bedrooms and bathrooms look fantastic.

My husband and I stiplulated to Thomson that we didn't wnat to be in amongst noisy nightclubs, big mistake! Rocamarina must contain most of the older generation from England! Don't get me wrong we get on with all age groups but when you have a large volume of mainly senior guests it can be a bit off putting.

The hotel is exceptionally clean, we were really pleased with our room, although we were at the back of the hotel facing the shops it was quieter than the beach side and guests that we spoke to were not very impressed when they had paid more for their rooms and found it noisy as when the entertainment was outside their rooms were nearest to this.

Staff were wonderful attentive polite and always happy, the chamber maids were delightful always greeting with a lovely smile.

Food was wonderful loads of choice and hot and the meat was so good and tender, curries fantastic, veggy and meat, we both put on a few pounds but well worth it

Unfortunately due to the vast majority of guests being 20+ years older than us, think we'll give this a miss!!!

Have just returned from 2 weeks holiday at this hotel where the standards have certainly dropped since our last visit a few years ago ! The hotel itself is spotlessly clean with large and well serviced rooms, and has good leisure facilities and nightly entertainment,(albeit with second rate, unheard of singers / comedians). Lots of staff who are very helpful, cheerful and polite and seem to be happy in their jobs.

However, many guests including my wife and I were very unhappy with the Restaurant which was "Cafeteria" style only, with the inevitable queues, where hot food was almost always cold...having been left on the servery for "self help" This was particularly true at Dinner where the priority for some staff seemed to be "To sell as much wine and bottled water as possible" above all else (BEWARE ...a small bottle of water at just under £2 !!). Gone....the "A la Carte" Resturant of earlier years along with Tea/coffee making facilities in rooms (More money to be made from sales at the Bar ....but "Health & Safety" given as the reason !) To be fair to this hotel, I must add that breakfast was excellent with a good selection of both Continental & English choices including cereals, fresh fruit, tea / coffee etc.

The hotel is located close to shops and Bars and only a few hundred yards to a small beach beside which is a Tennis Court, snack bar and outside pool with sun beds and shades...all just across the road from the main hotel complex and owned by the hotel but also open to the Public and therefore a charge of 4 Euros for sunbeds even though you are a hotel guest !! Sun beds in the Main hotel pool are FREE, if you can get one but you will have to be up early to beat the "Towel Brigade".....and they're all ENGLISH.

Disabled customers should note that there are some 6 - 10 steps leading to the main entrance with no wheelchair ramp. There are lifts to all floors except the Basement where the public toilets are located (stairs only).

To summarise.... It is a pretty good Hotel on the whole, with the only problem area being the Restaurant and the apparent obsession with making money. A hotel with 4* rooms, 2* Restaurant and 5* prices.

Visited this hotel after reading with interest comments from previous visitors. This is a fantastic family run hotel. The hotel is kept spotless clean. Food was plentiful with a very wide variety (and I'm a picky eater) and always hot.

Some people didn't like that they asked straight away for money in the restaurant, but you can open up a tab and settle up at check out. Your table is allocated to you and is yours for your stay, so you can dine when it suits you (within the selected times).

The pool area is roped off till 9am each morning. This stops the annoying practice of sun bed reserving, although the hotel has a policy that if a bed remains unoccupied for more than half an hour, you can remove the towel, which is very fair. One reviewer wrote that it reminded them of the Debenhams sale, which when I saw the rush thought very true. There is a shortage of sun beds around the pool, but there are several more available in the garden area or up on the sun terrace.

We found the reps very helpful and the entertainment staff very good evenso we did not take part in many activities.

There is a small beach nearby which there is a local charge for the sunbeds and umberellas, but you can buy tickets from reception at a discount.

Two minutes away are a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. There are two routes for the little trains that stop almost outside the hotel. One goes to the heart of Cala D or the other to Cala Mondrago.

Would highly recommend the Orang blossom trip although expensive is a full day out and worth every penny.

great hotel but a lot of bad points, dont go for superior we did and at the end of the day all you get is a bowl of fruit and cushions on your chairs, the food is very plain and staff although polite aren't that friendly, the beach is very small but there are plently of shops to go sovenier hunting etc. reps werent good at all and the evening entertainment not up to the normal thompson gold quality. upshot is I wouldnt go here again. sunbeds are sparce and some were queing from 7.45am to get one we just opted for the upper sun area and there were allways plently of chairs there, the reps were not great and struggled to get everyone to feel part of a group. the harbour is stunning and plently of resteraunts around to go out for a meal on the evening and I promise you will if you were as disapointed as we were with the evening menu. hey not everyone has the same tatses so you may enjoy it, very relaxing and the area was ok.

My wife and I have just returned from a most enjoyable week in the Rocamarina. Having no children running around is a real bonus here (ours have grown up, we aren't anti children). The staff are all without exception very helpful, polite and welcoming. The rooms are clean and well furnished, including a mini fridge and large bathroom.

The only reason I haven't given the hotel 10/10 is that there did seem to be an awful lot of pork but otherwise there was lots of other choice that was extremely well prepared and cooked.

I would certainly recommend the Rocamarina and will probably return soon.

A maverlous hotel,clean and friendly,no children.

Food was wonderful and as much as you wanted.

The evening enterainment was first class and professional.

The offical rating is a three star, Tomson awarded it as four star, which I agree with.

My wife and I will be returning to this hotel.

The day trip to the orange blossom trail is one worth the money, the travel through the mountains and the wonderful views, and then the cattermaran boat ride takes you to a small port where you get a tram ride to catch a train journey through the orange and lemon orchards.

Great hotel, my wife and I loved it. We were allocated a lovely room with a fantastic front side view, it was perfect. The room along with the rest of the hotel is immaculate throughout. The food was incredible and after each evening meal it was great to take the lovely long walk around Cala D'Ors stunning harbour. The Rocamarina itself is based just outside Cala D'Or at es forte which has some brilliant bars with competitive prices, the hotel although slightly dearer wasn't extortionate. All in all we had a fantastic time and shall certainly return to this resort and definitely this hotel.

I stayed at the Rocamarina for one week in September and must say it was one of the worst holidays of my life. The food was revolting... hardly any choice. The bar staff were just rude, I had ants in my room and when I went to speak to the reps, twice they weren't there. The entertainment wasn't particularly entertaining... apart from the cabarets they brought in, otherwise it was just this Thomson lad doing the same silly quizzes every night... so altogether I won't be returning to the Rocamarina next year.

Beautiful clean hotel, very friendly staff. Majority of people over the age of 65 but this didn't bother us (being 38 and 43).

Food lovely, always a different choice each evening. Only gripe hubby had was having to put trousers on for dinner he soon changed after though!!

Didn't use pool as never any sunbeds left people queuing at 8.30 for barrier to go down at 9am how sad are they!

Resort quiet but you can walk to Cala D'Or which took us about 25 minutes through a beautiful marina loads of restaurants and bars to stop at on the way.

Beach is just 2 minute walk beautiful and clean beware of snack bar on beach, prices are much more expensive than in the resort restaurants.

We had a great time at the Rocamarina. It is a Thomson Gold hotel so no children under the age of 16 years - no screaming kids running around - bliss! Warmly welcomed by the receptionist on arrival. The hotel was spotlessly clean and nicely furnished compared to some of the hotels we have stayed in. You cannot smoke in the actual hotel itself you have to go outside or on your balcony - even as smokers this didn't bother us, it was nice to walk into rooms that didn't smell of smoke.

Choice of food was excellent, a big variety, breakfasts - fruit, cereals, continental, full English, yoghurts, rolls, bread etc. Dinners - curries, salads, vegetables, roasts, puddings, fruit, cheese & biscuits etc. etc. Service was excellent as were all of the Staff.

The evening entertainment was varied from musical shows to comedians. If you don't fancy watching any of the hotel's entertainment shows you are just a couple of minutes walk into the centre which has plenty of bars and restaurants. Dave the Thomson entertainment rep was very energetic and comical.

The beach is small and a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The swimming pool area is nice but we didn't get a sunbed throughout our holiday so went in the gardens instead.

We will definitely be going back next year!

My wife and I have just returned from our holiday at this hotel. This was our first visit but it will not be our last. Everything about the hotel was first class from the rooms to the cleaning staff. The food was plentiful with a good selection to choose from and to suit most people's taste. The entertainment was excellent and a special mention must go to Dave and Beckie for their enthusiasm throughout the day and evening. The Thomson staff were very helpful and the hotel staff very friendly.

This was our second holiday through Thomson Gold and would recommend them to anyone who wants a holiday free from children. There was a good mix of age ranges while we were there which puts paid to the misconception that this type of holiday is only for people over 65.

10 out of 10 for this hotel.

Just back from an enjoyable stay at the Rocamarina. Nice room, huge bed, cleaners in every day. Just a few steps from clean beach but be aware, very pricey for sun beds and umbrella. 80% of people at hotel aged between 65-80 who seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves, but my major moan was the quality of the food at the restaurant.

At best it was luke warm, including veggies, potatoes etc. Very long queues for your food, whatever time we went. Please do not get wrong with the head waiter, as I did. The last time I received a lecture like I got I was at school! All for sitting at the wrong table on second day there.

Certainly will not be returning!

I've stayed at the Rocamarina Hotel twice now, and I think it's a fab hotel!!! I'm only 17 n was 16 the first time I went and I found that there was plenty to keep me entertained throughout the day, with the daytime activities. I particularly liked the really friendly staff, they are so easy to talk to and any problems are dealt with really quickly and really professionally.

The evening entertainment was a big highlight for me because there was such a wide range and because its on a 2 week schedule you never see the same show twice plus the entertainment changes every year. I found that just because the evening entertainment had finished it didn't mean that was the end of the night because Sparkles was just coming alive! It's a smallish bar that has karaoke from midnight til 2 then a disco from 2 til 4 in the morning. It's such a good night out and this year loads of the staff went as well which meant that you could get to know them better.

The hotel really is situated in the perfect position. The beach is only a 1 minute walk away and it has its own beach bar with seating area and it's a really clean well looked after beach.

The rooms are spacious and kept to a very high cleaning standard by the maids who do a superb job.

The food at the hotel is amazing, well presented and because its buffet style it means you can have as much or as little as you like. There is an excellent choice of food to suit everyone’s tastes.

The daytime excursions are a fabulous way to get out and about around the island and the tour guides are full of information and give a great history to the island of Mallorca. They are very informative but at the same time they don't burden you with too much information and it's told in a very interesting way so that you don't get bored!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Rocamarina Hotel mainly because there were lots to do and I felt very safe in my surroundings.

Comfortable, pleasant surroundings that are refurbished every year. Situated in a small village with pleasant shops and restaurants. The main attraction is the Fort to which everyone strolls to get great views of the ocean. During the high season the Fort is a venue for jazz/classical music and opera concerts. Sadly, most concerts are drowned out by the overwhelming sound levels of entertainment from the Rocamarina Hotel.

It appears that, the Rocamarina caters for the elderly and seriously deaf as the level of music and entertainment is so loud that anyone in a room situated overlooking the swimming pool and stage would not get any sleep until everything finishes at 12 midnight. Those trying to avoid the entertainment are usually found huddled in the TV room with the volume on full blast to drown out the noise

Pity the poor neighbours as the level of sound from this hotel, carries 700 yards to the fort with no effort made to turn down the volume a couple of notches. The Rocamarina is a well known joke to the residents and locals of Es Forti and Cala Egos for being the 'Hotel for the Seriously Deaf and Stupid'. Most people cluck and tut at the lack of consideration for the nearby homes or the family hotels with small children but shrug their shoulders and say that their requests to turn down the music falls on deaf years.

So if you stay at the Rocamarina expect your ears to be chewed off by irritated residents about the level of noise when you get into conversation with them on the beach.

This was our second visit to the Hotel Rocamarina and we had a fantastic time again.

The food at the Rocamarina is of a very high standard compared to other hotels. We also go to the hotels tennis court restaurant which has excellent local produce and extremely friendly staff.

The location is perfect, just a minutes walk from a lovely little beach, 10 minutes walk from the wonderful marina with many restaurants and bars and 5 minutes in a taxi to the main resort.

Yes it goes without saying that if you do want to sunbath around the pool area then yes you will need to get down there early to avoid the rush however, there is plenty of room to sunbath in the gardens.

The staff here go out of their way to make sure you have a great time.

We are in our 20's and a few people wondered why we chose a Thomson Gold hotel because they saw it as being for the over 40's but we too like the option of no children and somewhere you can just sit back and relax.

We met some great friends and we will continue to return to this fabulous place.
