La Ponderosa is a great locally owned resort with all the amenities. The have a reataurant on site, pool, 14 acres of trails, beach-front, and optional massage, horseback riding or fishing activities. La Ponderosa beach has a great sandy-bottom for swimming at low-tide. The owners are super helpful and can help you plan your activities. Pavones is known as a surfer town, but there's also lots of other activities such as hiking, bird watching, and sunbathing. A great place for surfers, families, or for couples on a romantic getaway!
