The Clontarf Hotel

There is nothing about this hotel that screams stay here. In fact keep driving is more appropriate. The service is average. The secure car park is nothing more than 3 parking spots behind an open waist high fence. The rooms are a definite let down from that described on the website.The hotel is in need of a major restoration not a cover up. The floors are sloping throughout the rooms, thereby forcing you to sleep with your legs in the air, i kid you not. The painting restoration looks like it has been done by an 8 year old. the wall paint is all over the cornices and ceiling, door jambs have been missed altogether, holes in the door where old locks have been removed and not repaired over. Windows with open sash cords so the window had to be propped open by a pizza box. Classy look that is, i might add.
Ring the bell in the bar and we will come serve you she said, i gave that up after a while and no response.
I dont hate anyone enought to recommend this hotel to them. Stay there at your peril as there are much better hotels in this town which are full of them.
