Medusa Apart Hotel

The Medusa apartments are slightly shabby and the decor is dated. Regardless of this we had an absolutely lovely chilled out holiday. It had a good pool and bar area which was never too busy or packed out due to the close proximity of the beach (easy 10 minute walk) or just get the free beach shuttle bus. Once at the beach, the hotel has it's own private beach area which includes free use of sunloungers/parasols. if you tend to just use your hotel to sleep and get washed and changed in then this is a good value for money holiday. The apartments are really spacious and you could fit 6 people easily. The rooms also have a front and back balcony so if the heat gets too much you can sit in the front balcony out of the hot sunshine. We had clean sheets and towels every 2 days and our room was cleaned (not brilliantly but ok). The hotel was basic and I can't see us going back to the Medusa (not because it was a bad hotel but because we saw other hotels we would like to try in the future). But the resort of Side was fantastic and the hotel staff were brilliant and made our holiday extra special including presenting us with a gorgeous birthday cake for me and my partner who celebrated our birthdays within a day of each other. Lovely hard working Memhet and his bar staff couldn't do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. The service was excellent. We went to Conny's restaurant and it really was fantastic, can understand why it is so popular, likewise Mehmet in the ruins was great food also. Loved walking past all the ancient ruins in Side and never had a bad meal throughout our holiday. Great place to go and if you can get past the basic hotel amenities you will have a nice holiday.

we arrived at this hotel after having been on the road for more than 10 hours,the manager at the reception was only interested in getting money out of us e.g £60 for aircon £15 for safe £64 for breakfasts,we asked for a quite room so we were given a ground floor room right outside the bar. the room was really tatty,it had been flooded during the winter,plaster was falling of the walls even though it had been painted. the tv might of worked if it had an ariel,the cooking area was a single hot plate,we had to ask for fridge, the hair dryer did'nt work the beds had seen better days,there was also frogs coming in to the room through holes in the door frame!once the staff realised that we were not spending money at the hotel,they completely ignored us. the one good thing i would say is the room was cleaned every day with clean towels and bed sheets every day[even if they were thread bare].side itself is a lovely area to visit.
