Great little finca!

Came across this place by accident - the manager of the Dalt Murada Hotel (another fabulous hotel) in Palma recommended it. The Son Palou is quiet, out of the way, in fabuous countryside, and utterly relaxing. It has a wonderful outdoor pool and excellent cooking; they do dinner, but you have to book for it. The food is unpretentious but superbly done, I and all the other guests actually looked forward to the evening meal as the food was of such a high restaurant standard (and you can't say that for many hotels!). When we were there, there were no children present; I don't know if 'no kids' was a hotel policy but it isn't the kind of place for children anyway as it's very quiet. Orient itself is a tiny village (more of a hamlet) but surprisingly it does have two island-renowned restaurants. The walks from Orient are many and superb. If you have a car the whole Muntanya mountain range is before you to explore. Highly reccommended.
