Levante Park Hotel

We stayed at the Levante Park for the first week of August 09 - our first ever Gold Hotel. Upon arrival, we were impressed with our room - there was a nice sized balcony with a built-in washing line; fridge, kettle & tea/coffee, bathrobes and pool towels. I gather only 'superior rooms' have the kettle & bathrobes. The hotel is well-maintained. Nice and clean, not too noisy and the staff are friendly and polite. The evening entertainment is low-key compared with the glitzy shows on at the sister hotel Levante across the road.... but that suited us as we enjoy a quiet drink after dinner. We did, nevertheless, enjoy the more lively nights we spent at the Levante. We used the Sauna & Steam room at the Levante, as enjoyed a 'cool-down' in the whirlpool baths afterwards - all free to guests of both hotels. Try it after a hard day on the beach! A lot of the staff work between both hotels, so you do not really feel like 'visitors' when you are at the Levante because they remember you and always smile and ask how you are. Lunchtime snacks & drinks at all times can be charged to your room so you just settle up at the end of your stay. The sunbed situation is well-documented by other reviewers, but we are not the type of people who enjoy the pool scene so this did not bother us. There was plenty of space on the beach, and a €3.50 per bed, it was well worth paying for a bit of space, fresh air and sea breeze. The food at breakfast & dinner was excellent quality - we are late eaters but the buffet was still well-stocked with fresh food even at 9pm. The lady cooking the fresh fish & meat to order was always very friendly, and we picked up a few words of Spanish from her by the end of the week. Her poached eggs & omelettes at breakfast were lovely too! The Thomson reps work very hard to ensure those that want to take part in activities are enjoying their stay, but they also manage to leave those who just want a quiet time to enjoy their holiday in their own way. Cala Bona itself is a lovely little resort - lovely in the vening with all the live entertainment outdoors. We will certainly consider another visit next year. The local bus is really cheap and connects you with other nearby places such as Cala Millor, S'illot, Sa Coma, Porto Cristo and Manacor (Mallorca's biggest town after Palma).
