This was our first cruise and so we booked a suite and went all inclusive. We could not fault the staff they were warm and friendly, nothing was ever too much trouble.
We arrived on the ship at around 9pm and were shown to our rooms, then we were left to find our way around the ship with no help and we asked three staff members for directions to be told they didn’t know either??? We found out to late that there was a welcome meeting next morning so we spent the week finding things out by chance.
The tours were good; though to be honest the organisation of people onto the coaches was bad and it was like being back at school!
Pompeii was the one tour we most looked forward to but unfortunately we only saw a little part of it as we were rushed around and the guide kept stopping to show us nothing in particular missing out all the best bits!
All inclusive is a waste of money, no free bar in your room, no early morning tea or coffee; unless you went out to the self service restaurant for it. You would have to drink non stop all day to get half of your money back, so don’t bother.
After our weeks cruise we had a week in the Lavante Park, Cala Bona on Majorca. This is a beautiful place friendly, clean and near the beach. A quiet resort and well worth a visit if you are looking for peace. The food was not as good as on the cruise but it was not bad and we would go there again.
The Thompson reps have to be the best in the world they took good care of us all and they worked hard to make sure everyone had a good time.
The most annoying thing is all the photographs they take of you, especially when you are eating or watching a show.
Then they put them all on show and expect you to buy them at around £5.00 each!
We would rate this ship as three star it was nothing special and although we loved the idea of a cruise and will go again, it will not be on the Spirit. The Levante as a four star in our books and we would definitely go back.
