Harbour View Hotel

St Augustine Villa is the place to stay . The accommodation was exceptionally clean - the cleanest hotel we have ever been too. Bed was super comfy & even had an electric blanket. The views from all our windows were gorgeous overlooking the seafront. Breakfast was just right, which can be served either in the sunny conservatory or in the dining room. We stayed here for a Week in Room 6, the Superior Room which is at top of hotel and overlooking harbour and seafront. Room was very luxurious, and had its own whirlpool bath en suite and just up a few steps we had a great size bedroom with a king size bed and very tasteful decor throughout. We stayed here for a weekend break from London, we couldn't have made a better choice. Esme and Bob are wonderful hosts, the room (a Superior with a lovely sea view) was nice, clean and spacious, the shower room unremarkable, the double bed was so comfortable you didn't want to get up in the morning..and when you finally did, you would be served a lovely breakfast...we went by motorbike, there were another two couples with bikes that weekend, we all managed to park in the small car-park at the front..A good restaurant nearby is the Ale and... more

This is a very good b and b situated just before Ventnor seafront and just under the Winter Gardens. Its worst aspect is the parking as it is limited and cramped, but you cope! The room we stayed in was spacious and comfy with a sea view. Breakfast was lovely and Esme a relaxed hostess. The front at Ventnor has lots of places to eat and idle and if weather permits sunbathe!

This place is lovely. Ths staff are really helpful and friendly. Rooms are perfect & clean. Perfect location. Bed was super comfy & even had an electric blanket. The views were gorgeous. My husband and I stayed in Room 6 which is located in the tower at the top of the hotel. The ensuite room is unusual in that it has two floors - bathroom on lower floor and bedroom on upper floor. This hotel has recently changed its name to St. Augustine Villa, but the owners remain the same as mentioned on Harbour View Hotels website. It's a very clean and really tastefully decorated place with some stunning pictures and furniture. The views are wonderful! Having breakfast overlooking the sea and harbour every morning was a delight. A really wonderful bed and breakfast. The couple that run it are really friendly and happy to help you with any questions you may have. We stayed in room 8, which had the most amazing view of the sea. The breakfast was great with lots of choice. It is near town, which although is not full of pubs and restaurants there are a few decent ones. Try the 'Ale and Oyster' house just down the road from the BnB. Just had a very enjoyable few days on the Isle of Wight ( and had originally intended to stay at a different hotel every night)...our first night's stay (by off-chance)was at the Harbour View Hotel in Ventnor (room 7) and because we felt so comfortable and so much 'at home' in this beautiful Victorian building which had all the charm and atmosphere from a different era...we could not stir ourselves to go anywhere else! The 'sea-views' from our bedroom reminded me of being on board a 'luxury cruiser'....but without sea sickness! ....... more
