Just come back from eleven nights stay at the Bonamar. What can I say but what a great holiday we had. The Hotel was super, we was more than pleased with all the facilities. The cleanliness of the Hotel was noticeable as soon as we walked in and this didn't let itself down... more

Loved our week long stay here, there were mostly older guests, but some younger ones too. The food was lovely, although as a veggie it started to get a bit repetitive after only a week, but I still managed to eat every day. For non fussy people, it was a great range of... more

Stayed at the Bonamar in May 2006 for 2 weeks with my husband and 18 month old girl. ( My father has stayed 5 times and always goes on about how good it is!) I would recommend this hotel as it is spotless, food was great with a different variety of choice each day and if... more

Stayed 7 days at this hotel, travelling with Thompson. Located in Calla Bona but in a quiet part of the beachfront. A short stroll along a flat promenade takes you either to Calla Bona Harbour (good number of restaurants & bars) or Calla Millor (even more restaurants, shops... more

We were looking for a cheap and cheerful holiday, on a budget, and by the sea. We booked 7 days before going and on a half board basis. Flights were only 2 hours, however the hotel is 45-60 minutes away from the airport. If you are hiring a car, you will find it easy to... more

Very pleased with everything....
I have just returned on saturday from The Bonamar with my Partner - we loved the whole experience, this was our first holiday away together but was excellent - we are hoping to get away again soon and would def return to Cala Millor, there are alot of Germans but that was fine! the beach is a 2 minute walk out of the hotel, and there are many different restaurants (all the ones we ate in were spot on barring the Bear restaurant (very expensive and over rated!!!) We had alot of very good nights out - Thanks to Chaplins and the Kings Head in nearby Sacoma! Overall everything about the holiday and the hotel were excellent and very much lived up to our expectations. We did allocation on arrival, and was very worried when we were told we were staying at Cala Bona - we are a young couple and quite fancied Palma Nova - but this was more than perfect for us! it was so quiet in the day time on the beach and around the pool area, then at night finding the right place was easy, we walked home along the beach and was gorgeous, busy and safe!!! Hotel was amazing, very good service and reps, Maids were lovely and the food was great, Breakfast and Tea (advise to go half board) We will def return to Bonamar and wouldnt stay anywhere else in Cala Bona!!! There is something for everyone but more so for a couple - We also had a great sea view from our balcony - and managed to watch the sun go down with a baileys on many occasions! VERY VERY HAPPY !!!!!!!!!!!
everything you want in a holiday for couples/families
My boyfriend and I have just returned from our holiday at the Bonamar. It was an excellent holiday with everything a couple would want. The hotel is clean and tidy and the swimming pool was great fun with plenty of space to relax on a lylow or have fun with others with water games. The maids are lovely and always leave your room spotless, the food is lovely and the hotel is set in the perfect location. The night life is relaxing and romantic in Cala Bona with great restaurants around the harbour, for a lively night life walk down to Cala millor where the pubs and clubs are.(lots of germans in cala millor). The hotel is right on the front promenade and everything from bars, shops and restaurants is all within a short walking distance.I loved this holiday as there was no hussle and no traffic and the area was so relaxed. The area was romantic, especially when sitting on the front watching the sun set. i would definity return again, the spar shop just outside the hotel(to the right) is great, there is a lovely english lady who works there and is very helpful and friendly. Overall if you are looking for a holiday with relaxing days and a chilled out night life and maybe head to a nightclub once or twice, this is a hoilday for you.
Fab Time
One of our favourite holidays, we found the hotel and staff excellent, food very good and very comfordable room. We are quite fussy people and had a brilliant holiday met up with some lovely people would not hesitate to go back.
delightful
we stayed from 22-29th October, with our friends, the Hotel was so clean and the food was fantastic, the staff could not do enough for us. I would not hesitate to recommend the Hotel to anybody. The area is gorgeous and close to the beach and the sea, although at this time of year it can be a little quieter.
one of the best
I visited the hotel last week with my sister it was one of the best hotels we have stayed in all the staff are very friendly and helpful, the choice of food is mind blowing and quality is excellent, this hotel should not be confused with the sister aparthotel across the road, we heard mixed reviews about that one from people staying their, the outdoor pools were too chilly at this time of the year, but the indoor was warm and when I used it most days I was the only one in there. I would recomend this hotel to couples or families with older children, for younger families the aparthotel has many more facilitiesfor choldren, Sa Coma is very nice and a short walk will take you into Ca Millor or the road train is a good way to get around.
Excellent Service at the Bonamar
Just got back this morning after 1 week at the Bonamar Hotel in Cala Bona, Mallorca. This hotel is in a prime location, overlooking the sea and shops in Cala Bona and Cala Millor are within walking distance. The choice of food is excellent. There is something for everyone. The hotel is very clean. The Reps are brilliant. Hotel staff are very courteous and wellcoming and attend to all your needs. The outdoor pool is not heated, so is a bit cold in the Spring and Autumn. I would certainly revisit the Bonamar. The airport transfer is about one and a half hours though. You will need to be prepared for a long journey here.
A Family Hotel
Overall the hotel is ok. As the other reviews state the food is good and i would say this is its biggest plus, the entertainment is also pretty good with the whole hotel seemingly playing along for the nightly bingo. Its position is also good, good views and very convenient inbetween the two resorts. Now for the down sides! The pool is very small, I was disappointed to have to use the indoor pool if I wanted to stretch out abit but even in there I was pushing it abit. It is also very crowded all day because there are so many children but you can accept that when you've gone to a family hotel. One other review I read was pleased that there were carpets but this is a big no no for me. In my room they were very dirty and had some very strange stains. The cleaners were very noisy each morning which really annoyed me and it was a real chore to have to fight for a sunbed each day. Be warned there are less sunbeds than there are guests and half of them are in the shade or pushed all together in one big group. This led us to go to the beach quite alot which was also very busy but still a nice beach. If you are a family you will probably really enjoy this hotel, couples....think twice.
Excellent Holiday
Just returned from a great 2 week stay at the Bonamar Hotel Cala Bona. All the staff were extremely friendly especially Cati and Maria on the reception desk. The food could not be faulted with both English and Spanish dishes. The rooms were cleaned daily and, along with the corridors, were fully carpeted so noise was kept to a minimum. Daily activities were good although some of the evening shows were a bit on the amatuer side. Beaches were quite busy but always found somewhere at the quieter end of Cala Bona rather than Cal Millor. Eileen & Pedro at the Spar shop[right outside hotel 50 yards] does great rolls and drinks cheaper than takeaway prices on the seafront.A great holiday well worth a return visit.
Good quality hotel, had great time
The hotel was spotlessly clean and all members of staff were very friendly, The food was great with loads of choice. You could have a four course meal at both breakfast and dinner time and the deserts are so good, I had to do plenty of swimming to burn off all those extra callories. Yes you do need to put your towels out early to get a sun bed with hight adjuster, but I really did not mind getting up at 8am anyway (I believe this is the norm in any good hotel now days). It was such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. There was a good mix of ages staying in the hotel and the entertainment staff worked hard to keep all happy, with a mix of bingo, water polo, kids disco and pool and darts tournaments. Cala Bona, has more English people and bars, but no night clubs, but if you go into Cala Millor, there are many german people and german run shops, and the bars here are much more lively. I would recomend to anyone to go to the Caves of Drac using the public bus service, just ask at the hotel reception for a time table and directions on where to catch the bus. After looking at the fantastic stalagmites, we then walked into Porto Cristo, you really should go just for the stunning views of the bay. We finished of our amazing day with a boat trip back along the cost back to Cala Bona. We only paid 20 euros for the whole day including enterance to the caves, bus and boat, we found this much cheaper than using the tour operator. I would recomend this hotel and resort, to anyone who is after a stress free, quite and romantic holiday, I would definatly go back again.
Great Hotel
The Bonamar Hotel in Cala Bona is fantastic. I have just returned from a week's stay there and the hotel and staff could not have been better! The hotel's position is half way between the lovely marina at Cala Bona and the great sandy beach at Cala Millor, with an easy flat walk between the two. The rooms are comfortable and have a great view of the sea, it is worth paying the extra for a full sea view - the part sea view rooms only have a fairly small balcony. The food was varied each night and as it is a buffet you can go as often as you wish. There is entertainment each day and evening, as well as bars near by if you wish. I must also mention the Spar shop which is near the hotel run by an English lady and her Spanish husband - very friendly and cheap, they will also make up baguettes to order if you fancy a picnic (from the hotel's main entrance, turn right and the shop is on the right about 200yds down the road)
