" AMAZING HOLIDAY!!! "
Submitted By: jcnw16650there was 5 adults (46,35,32,30,17) an my little boy is 3, and we all had an amazing time!!!,
this will be a lengthy review coz i would have wanted an indetail one given the choice b4 i went,
as soon as we arrived (about 5.30) we were given our room cards, the rooms were great! spotlessly clean, with everything u need for s/c although we were a/i, there was even scissors and different knives, the bedroom had 2 single beds which were easily pushed 2gether if required, i made the bedroom up for my little boy and me and my friend slept in the living room as the sofa was single bed size anyway and comfy enough and there was a pull out mattress underneath which was a proper sprung mattress ao we were quite comfy an there was plenty space to move the mattress to the other size of the room so we werent right next to each other, only thing is theres no air con which was fine for us coz it wasnt too hot bein september an we could leave the main doors open an lock the shutters front an back to let the breeze through but i can imagine it to be stifling in summer, u could rent fans for about 17 euros a week.
we were also made up to find that we were right by the pool with the bridge (i had asked for a quiet room)so when we opened r back shutters we were right by the pool!, and there was a shop onsite which was right outside r back shutters which sold everythin u might need including inflatables for the pool, armbands, buckets an spades etc etc.. expensive mind but handy!
the 1st thing we did was throw r bags in an went 4 a swim, which was lovely as it was still very warm when we arrived, i dont know why so many ppl complain about the pools bein cold, what do u expect?? yeh they were cold but no colder than normal.
dinner/tea was served between 7-10 and was great! the restaurant is just downstairs from reception and buffet style there was all kinds there an u could go up as many times as u wanted.
the 1st section was salad stuff, olives, cheeses, cold meats, prawns, pickles etc etc,
the next section had chips, vegetables, veal stew, some kind of delicious pie, fish in sauce (proper fresh filets of bass or hake etc) lasagne, pasta, there was always something different, it was piping hot and as soon as anything was running low some1 would come out with new stuff,
the next section was fish and meat and there was a chef there cooking them on a hotplate stuff like fresh filets of fish and steaks or veal etc,
the next section was the kids section with stuff like spaghetti or pasta twists with sauces seperate like bolognese or tomato, pancakes, chicken nuggets or pizza so even really fussy kids (like mine) would find something, again always somethin different, the next section was all different breads-rolls-brown an white, crusty bread, normal bread etc, the last section was pudding and there was cakes, mousse's, jelly, rice pudding (which was lovely), fresh made custard, then there was a little freezer with ice creams in, and a stall at the side with all different fruits, there was also drinks on tap that u served urself with-coke, coke lite, fanta, etc, OJ, water, tea, coffee, and red an white wine and u could have proper glasses for the wine,
so all in all i have no idea how ANYONE could complain about the food!!!, the staff were brilliant! as soon as there was any finished with plates they would come an take them they were very efficient and as soon as ppl left the tables were immediatly cleaned an re-set, it was VERY busy but even the times we had to queue it went really quick anyway so it wasnt a problem,
its same scenario for breakfast (served 8-10) usually really busy nr the end with a queue all way up the stairs but again very fast moving,
1st counter - cereals (coco pops, cornflakes, (both spanish versions) muesli, dried fruits , cold meats, cheeses, salads,
2nd counter - baked beans, hash brown type things, decent bacon, proper sausages, pancakes with ham an cheese in
3rd counter was the hotplate chef doin the scrambled an fried eggs in front of u,
next counter was all the breads again but with croissants, cakes, muffins, doughnuts etc and with toaster machines,
then there was fruit salads and yoghurts and fruit (bananas, apples, grapes, oranges, kiwis). my little boy got a cold while we were there so his appetite was off so i used to leave him to play at brekkie time an would take something back for him to eat like yoghurts an bananas, ur not supposed to but u could sneak stuff out in ur bag if u wanted to.
lunch was pretty much same as dinner/tea, (served 1-3) proper hot meals plus all the other stuff.
also between mealtimes u could go for snacks (ice cream, various breads and pastrys, cold meats salads pickles etc..) only thing is u have to go to the restaurant if u want ice cream an dont get it from the bars as u have to pay for them, again sneak some in a bag to keep in the freezer.
FABULOUS!!!!! i even mentioned to my friend i didnt know how they did it coz the price is so reasonable for the stuff they must go through!!!!
i noticed that they had proper cots for kids not crap travel cots which is what u usually get!, u also get plenty towels and the maids came every other day an changed them, i cant praise ALL the staff enough they keep the place in spotless condition and there is a lot of mess ppl can make, as its a/i u jus go up to the bar and order what u want all day so theres plastic cups ppl leave everywhere but after the sunbeds are put away (6pm) they tidy it all up so theres nothing left around, theres also loads of ashtrays around and toilets seperate from ur room here and there and again they are spotless!,
as for drinks, the value is amazing, u can have what u want anytime and the spirits are not locally produced as stated in the brochures, its gordans gin, tia maria, malibu, all proper branded stuff and the beer on tap was san miguel!!!! and the drinks are always loaded woth ice and they have milkshakes and slushes (my little 1 was made up with the slushes!!!)
after dinner we would head to the middle pool where the entertainment was on, an it generally starts at 8 with the kids disco which is fab, lots of songs an dance routines, the guys were brilliant, especially antonio was HILARIOUS!!!, they did games for the kids and little shows, then at 9 was bingo which was always fun again with antonio bein hilarious! we won one night 115 euros! then at half nine there would be a quiz or something then at 10 there would be a show, while we were there we saw fake that (who were so bad they were good LOL), abba (awful but worth a laugh), a magician and contortionist (she was on britains got talent!!) was amazing, parrot show, cant remember what else coz i generally took my little one to bed around that time as he is normally in bed asleep by 7.30 so i had been worried about keepin him up but it turned out fine! he would jus tell me when he was ready to go to bed! so he stayed up to see the parrot show and the magicion and he was completely knackered LOL but enjoyed it, the other nights i took him back a bit earlier,
the entertainers were there during the day too and would play games with the kids like big connect 4 and jenga so u could have a bit of peace, my little boy grew very fond of jess and she was just amazing with him, she treated him just like she was his auntie or something it was so nice, they were all great with the kids but jess especially!, there was a kids club that u could take them to but my little 1 didnt wanna go (dammit) and depending on age theres certain times for diff ages an they do activities etc and the little clubhouse is right inside the kids play area which is BRILLIANT!! its a playground inside the complex filled with sand and it has climbing frames, slides, playhouses, buckets an spades, EVERYTHING!! (we have rebooked for june an were torn between askin for the same rooms or rooms by the play area!!)
I cant wait to go back i was devastated to leave!!, i just hope they keep the same entertainers n cause they made it special!

" FANTASTIC!!!! "
Submitted By: delysec1There was entertainment on every night, which was good!! We was in room 193 but on the back, so we werent far from the bar, but you could never hear any noise. The little shop on the complex was a lot cheaper for things than if you had to get them cala 'n' forcat.
I was having to get up at 7-7.30 to get sunbeds, as some of the people were putting them on at 1 o clock in the morning, staff didnt seem to be bothered about that, even tho you werent allowed to reserve the sunbeds. We went to the waterpark for my sons 5th birthday, not the biggest of waterparks, couple of slides, but we had the best day there!!!!! You'll have a laugh no matter what!!!!! Quite expensive, it cost us for 2 adults and a child nearly 50euros and thats not including your dinner, but well worth it!!!!
I'd definately go back to Binaimr again but for 2 weeks,
Advice: Brill!!! Pricing up again for 2weeks next year
Activities: Burger King and Ben and Jerry's

" Binimarvellous! "
Submitted By: nordkappAs self-catering, we ate mostly at a local family-run restaurant, La Parada (near Los Delphines / water park) which, although the exchange rate made a bit pricey, offered consistently good fare and excellent service. we'd had poor experiences at some of the bigger eateries on The Strip 4 years ago, so spending a bit extra on a relaxing sangria-oiled evening was money well spent.
The Binimar's 3 pools were an excellent way to keep cool, we found the staff friendly and helpful, and the whole complex was smart and well-maintained.
One small detail which we would have wished otherwise, was that our apartment was RIGHT NEXT to the Show Bar, so it was quite noisy till midnight, but after that time, we weren't disturbed. We're not so keen on 'joining in' so would have benefitted from an apartment away from the Ents, but hey, we'll know next time.
Hiring a safe key and fan were essential but very expensive. Go to Cala Blanca on the bus - well worth the trip!
Advice: Great for swimming & snorkelling in the nearby coves, but beaches are tiny
Activities: La Parada, near the water park, friendly restaurant, where you're a guest, not just a table number.

" Wonderful Holiday - Would go back in a heartbeat "
Submitted By: KrazylegsApartments are basic that is true but we were still able to rustle up decent breakfasts etc. We were in No.122, which overlooked pool No.1 so noise in the evening was minimal, though having said that, if I had been anywhere near the show bar/pool area I would have asked to be moved. It is lively/noisy in that part of the complex but in a nice way. If you're looking for a 'aspirational' holiday then cough up the extra cash. If you want to be around down-to-earth decent people from all walks of life looking for a restful relaxed cheap holiday then the Binimar is for you.
I can honestly say that that if I wanted a week away somewhere reasonably priced, where the standards are good I'd go for the Binimar again.
" Second visit - fantastic! "
Submitted By: LucieTunzThere is something for everyone: two childrens' pools and three main, large, pools which are suitable for all ages. There is entertainment running from around 10am to 12pm daily, with short breaks for welcome meetings which happen for various travel operators most mornings. This happens on the stage around the main bar area, which is next to the lovely 'La Tasca' restaurant and take-away, a chinese restaurant, bar and pool table. The entertainment is fairly quiet during the day, and involves the centre pool and sports courts for various games and activities. The entertainment cannot be heard by the largest pool (with the bridge), where drinks and ice-creams can also be bought from the bar next to it; it is ideal for quiter families or just those who prefer to stay away from the entertainment. The shop is also located in this area, where everything that you may need can be bought from, included inflatables for the pool which can be blown up free-of-charge!
The entertainent can be cheesy at times, but it's all good fun and typical of family hoidays. Tribute acts such as 'Fake That' tour the island and regularly visit resorts and bars around the area. They are brilliant fun and a great laugh. Others include 'Westlive' and 'Abba Relived', however none quite top 'Fake That'. ;) Antonio, one of the lead enterntainers at Binimar, was brilliant! He was outrageous and great with the children and the adults.
The complex is next to the large resort of Cala'n Forcat, that is merged with Los Delfines and Cala'n Blanes. Several other holiday resorts such as Oasis park and Los Lenticos are located in this area, with a total of 4 coves accessable in walking distance. However, Cala'n Blanes is the furthest away, and walking to it in the mid-day heat is harder that you think!
The resort offers lots of gift-shops and restaurants, and even an *actual* Ben & Jerrys Ice-Cream bar. You can get them in cones! Wow. This year and last, we went to Jimmy Hills which is situated in 'the square', they offer smaller, cheaper meals, as the place is based around the Sky Sports matches etc, the centre of the 'nightlife'. The 'Forum', right next to Binimar is a very nice restaurant, it caters for young children just as well as adults; the service is excellent and the menu consists of Menorcan dishes aswell as British classics, all at resonable prices. You even got a complimentary little Peppermint shot and lollies for the children with the bill!
We also visited Ciutadella on the bus one afternoon from one of the nearby bus-stops. The buses are beautiful and run exactly on time, however remember that you have to buy the ticket from the little office by the bus-station before you board the bus to return. It is great for people who are 'into' the cultural visits and things, however we aren't, so walked round to the harbour, back up, had a drink at Burger King then caught the bus back again!
Thomas Cook also offered a day trip to Cala'n Galdana, which is a gorgeous beach around 20-25 minute bus journey away from Binimar. It was 20 Euros for adults, 10 for children - quite pricey, but it was comforting to know you are on a secure trip and the coach won't leave without you. As the coves near to Binimar are small, it was lovely to visit a proper beach; it's a recommended trip to go on if avaliable.
We hope to visit this resort again soon, especially Binimar, which we feel to be the best resort in the area. Special thanks to our reps Sandy, Josh and Lou!
Advice: Superb area for all ages.
Activities: The visit to Cala'n Galdana is recommended, if avaliable.

" Had a wonderful time "
Submitted By: Mrsmorton69HOWEVER we had a fantastic time, I must admit that I think it was on ¾ full but the only time we ever had to queue was one night for bingo tickets, we hadn’t gone with the mind we wanted to play Bingo but you tend to get swept away with all the fun.
Food was fantastic, we do enjoy European food but if you are very picky, they have chips, but surely everyone eats rice and Pasta dishes too these days, the choice was vast and wine available along with soft drinks in the Restaurant all through the meal and we ate so well that we never went in during the 3 snack times they also run between main meals. The food on the servery was a little luke warm, but its so hot in Menorca this didn’t seem to bother anyone
The complex is immaculately clean, maids working throughout the day cleaning room, tables and plates tidied constantly, the staff were very hard working.
Rooms are of the standard you expect from a 2-3* hotel, slightly dated but lovely to have the use of a fridge for bottled water & having a 16 month old with us that decided he couldn’t eat in the heat and reverted back to bottles of milk so at least we knew it was fresh. In hindsight when the complex was built installing air conditioning would have been a god send, but we locked the shutters and kept the glass doors open, even with the children sleeping in the living room it always felt very safe.
All 3 pools are beautiful and you did find some towels in the morning, mainly baggsing the palm tree parasols but there were always plenty of spare loungers at all times and the ones that had been “saved” were always being used by 10am.
British run entertainment from 10am till11pm and the team worked there socks off and knew all the childrens names within a couple of days of them arriving. Bar service was excellent, small plastic glasses for the all-incs but you could order as many as you wanted, we used to get 3 at a time between the 2 of us, which became the in joke, paid drinks aren’t that cheap, I think about 3 euros for most things, but this is definitely a Menorcan thing not just at the Binimar… you do get them in a glass for that though, all the bar staff spoke perfect English, though we alwys feel it polite to give the obligatory, Por Favor or Gracias… gets you remembered.
Cala N Forcat has plenty of restaurants and Bars if youre self catering or fancy a wander and all the souvenir shops, though it is a modern resort, Cuitedella the old capital is only about 15 mins by hourly bus for the architecture, serious shopping or the cigarette smoker it cost 4.35 euros for 2 adults and 1 child each way.
The water park is literally a 5 min walk from the Binimar, we didn’t go due to the complexities of the baby and for the truelly picky eater there are 2 Burger Kings – though couldn’t confirm whether they are cooked in Spanish oil or taste like they do at home!!!
Our Rep Sarah was lovely, saw her a couple of times each day if anyone needed her and always had a smile and a chat available.
The beach probably isn’t for beach lovers, that part of the island tends to have lots of little shallow coves that are ideal for parents with small children for the calm of the sea and the smallness of the area you need to watch, we went down to the nearest beach which can be got to in the hotel on foot with no buggy but it didn’t take us more than 5-10 mins to walk the road way, there a café which seemed to be run by a british lady and got big portions, everything was 3 euros, and there were about 10 parasols with 2 sunloungers on the beach, each was 5 euros, but worth it for the day rather than rouging it on the shingle.
In summary we all had an absolutely fantastic time and although we have never been back to the same place twice due to the world being to big and a little scared places may not be as good on return, we are seriously thinking about going back for 2010. The day before we left a family arrived that all the staff remembered from the 7 previous years they have been and insisted on the room next to the entertainment!!! We were overlooking the childrens park near reception and it was lovely and quiet
I think the only people who would have a problem with Binimar are people that expect too much before they go, we paid £1000 for the 4 of us All Inclusive and it was wonderful value for money. It is a 3* resort not 5* and although possibly a little holiday parky, only for the very best reasons when you have children. Cant recommend the place highly enough. Hope you have as wonderful a time as the Morton Family did.
Advice: Family, couple orietated not the place to go on the lash or to cop off

" Everything Was Amazing, Ignore Bad Reviews, Defineatly Go Here! "
Submitted By: CatherineElizabethThe complex was amazing, me and my best friend, went with my mother and her boyfriend, and it was perfect for us. There were 3 clean swimming pools, watched from 9-6 by the lovely lifeguards who we met whilst staying there. Kids play areas, donkey rides 9-11, kids entertainment all suitable for children, and adults! Hotel entertainers, bar for those drinking, and much more!
La Tasca, was wonderful for those Self Catering. 7euro, 3 course menu, tasted yummy, large portions and worth trying. The staff, the entertainers situated all over the complex were friendly, funny, made it worth the welcome. Pedro on the bar is defineatly a legend, we miss you! Haha!
Entertainment in the evening is worth a watch, Disney, Abba, Parrot, Magicians everything fun and worth a watch. Also! Afterwards, Jimmy Hills about a 5minute walk is worth going, best nightclub and bar there. We only discovered few nights before but were there whenever we could be. Beautiful coves around the corners for swims, also did a boat trip to 2 other beaches which was worth it. Lovely area, with gorgeous surroundings.
I wont ramble on because i've done that enough to friends and family, but Binimar is most certainly a beaut! Worth going, for all those ages. For a relaxing, fun, hot holiday! Will want to return as soon as possible. Missing it already. So, ignore all the bad reviews, it was fantastic! Hope you enjoy every minute, i sure know our family did.
:D xxxxxxx
Advice: Lovely place, worth visiting as many of the different beaches!
Activities: La Tasca (Situated within Binimar), Beautiful Beaches, JIMMY HILLS!!

We booked the Menorcan coach trip round the island through the rep and it was well worth the money. The weather wasn't very good it was rainy and stormy but that didn't deter us. The information offered by the tour guide on this tour is fascinating you learn about everything from Cheese to dancing horses.
Pisque Cove a short walk from the appartments is beautiful. (a small hike down over some rubble so not really suitable for buggies) but well worth a visit.
The whole place is beautiful. Although it was shutting down when we were there as it was the second last week of the season. So it was quite quiet everywhere you went. To be honest i don't think i would like to go in the height of the season because i think it would be too crowded. We enjoyed it how it was, nice and relaxing and half busy. We only had to queue once to get into the restaurant but they got us seated very quickly. I can imagine the restaurant being very hot in the summer as it is underground and there doesn't seem to be any air condtioning.
Our holiday was a really great one the only let down was the weather for a couple of days. We found the place very clean and pleasant. I would definitely go back and even my 14 year old son agrees.
Please ignore all the nit picking little wingers that complain about the place. I am not doubting that some people have a genuine grievance. But i do find some people can be VERY picky. Especially since i am quite a fussy person myself i found the place perfect. Anyway you are getting what you are paying for. It is what it says 3 star not 5.
