Reception told us to turn left then right and head for the ocean,to find our room.Not. A 5 STAR GREETING.After finding room found it to be looking over pool filled with children,but had booked sea view room.Reception both male and female argued with us that our room looked directly to the sea if you walked onto balcony and turned right.So much for 5 star treatment...They did offer another room which faced mountains,which we declined.Back to reception where a lady LISTENED and found a room on the fifth floor,but no sea view.now four hours... more

Stayed 1 week with my wife and our daughter. Excelent choice to relax. Good concept, nice service, beautiful hotel. It's localization is the ideal to relax, away from busy Playa de Las Americas, but just 15 min away. The only bad think (and it was important for us) is the lack of food for children. Nothing what so ever. And also the fact that the Oasis Pool Restaurant only serves snacks after 4 p.m. :-|

My husband and I went without the kids and would recommend the hotel for a great get away from it all break. The location is quiet, without a sandy beach, so if thats what you want you will be disappointed - the sea is really clear though and the pools are so good, you don't need the beach. Plenty of sunbeds and parasols, with extra covered areas in the massive pool. The interior is styled perfectly and I was very impressed - the fountains in the evening were fantastic. We have just returned from our much anticipated family summer holiday at the Gran Melia Guia de Isora Tenerife. We were going to go to Jumeriah Beach Dubai but the weather was too hot for our children, so I thought this would be a safe option, same luxuries & level of service but more bearable temperatures, boy was I wrong !! The hotel is beautiful but the staff and food are pathetic. We just arrived back after a week in the hotel and had a wonderful stay.. it is beautiful, the design and level of detail is outstanding throughout with different looks and feel around the resort, SOL have done a fabulous job with the hotel. The lobby is breathtaking with a lovely welcome with cold drinks during check in. The whole hotel has an overall feel of being very Miami esque in the main courtyard with funky white beds, couches and chairs to chill out during the evening and daytime. booked after much hype in the uk but checked out after 4 days as there was nothing for children to do unlike the bahia del duque. the hotel has great potential but has opened far too early and needs to iron out many problems. because it is well out of the way there needs to be more on for a five star to keep you there, like the jumeira beach hotel in dubai or the four seasons in cyprus. we were moved to red level which is great although tecnically kids are not meant to be in there so we felt a little compromised. my advise is to go but not... more

just returned from a one week stay, we opted for red level which was excellent service . Beautiful landscaped gardens and magnificent pools and stuning views of the ocean. Then you come to eat absolutely rubbish. Food was very poor alongside the service. Eating in the Asian restaurant one evening and requesed the food to be cooked at the table. We had the food cooked for us and ready to eat as they served us the starter and just left our freshly cooked main course standing there. Melia have done their research and come up with a mixture of pleasing traditional external architecture with a very modern interior/public areas. First impressions count so the view from the lobby towards the sea and the chic modern courtyard is very impressive! We stayed in the "club" rooms known as the Red Level which is a totally separate wing with its own dedicated pool and club house supported by a team of Butlers who are kitted out in very smart red/white outfits. we live here and have watched with interest the hotel being built so just had to drive the 12km to overnight halfboard. on arrival your car is valet parked, you,re greated by concierge and a member of customer services who escorts you to a seat in reception, takes your confirmation and checks you in while you enjoy a refreshing water served on a stainless steal tray accompanied by frozen perfumed linen towels. concierge is busy taking other guests to there room so we,re invited to the bar for drinks, 10 mins later he arrives and... more

we were there on opening day and everyone was very busy but friendly and professional. our room was fantastic and the hotel was out of this world. everyone from the cleaners to the management were very attentive and the food had great variety and was well presented and cooked to a fantastic standard. i think they said there were eight pools we used three of them, the whole hotel is beautifully done and i would recommend every one to go now while everything is brand new. the half board was worth every penny we will be going again early... more
