excellent apartments in nice location. by Peter A

just returned 2nd august, from another wonderful stay at these apartments. If you want a hassle free place to stay, then you will not go wrong at the Bahia Azul! Spotlessly clean, self catering apartments with clean towels every day, and cleaned daily also. The staff are friendly and helpful, and even gave us a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival!

Located just a short walk away from the main front line and beach, and approx 1 hour transfer from the airport. This place gets better every time.

value for money apartments cala bona by peteash
9 / 10

We have just had a week's holiday staying in bahai azul apartments,(1st to 8th may 2010).I asked for, and was given a ground floor apartment as there are no lifts and the top floor has 84 steps to climb! These are extremely good value for money and are kept scrupulously clean by the friendly staff! We had towels changed daily and sheets twice during the week. WE were pleased there was heating in the room as the weather was absolutely terrible for 5 days of the week, cold, winds and torrential rain!! Altough basic, they are fine for 2 people, the only big draw back are the beds, or LACK of them. You have to push two very narrow settee chairs together, which makes getting in and out of bed a big challenge! We found it easier to put the mattresses on the floor and sleep there.Cooking facilities are ok for light meals and snacks, but i would advise taking a small electric kettle as the kettle on the cooker takes forever. All in all very good value and close to all amenities.

Very relaxing by gibbo_7

I stayed here with 3 friends for a relaxing girls holiday. We went on a budget but are apartment was the best i've ever stayed in.

On arrival we checked in quickly and were then taken to our apartment on a golf buggy type thing even tho it was literally 100yds away. Nice touch. Apartment was cleaned and towels changed daily. There was one bedroom with 2 beds then the 2 sofas in the living room made the other 2 beds. Really big and clean and modern.

We were self catering and stayed in an "english" block. Pool was small but served its purpose. Guy who runs the pool bar is brilliant, makes good food all day i.e omelettes, burgers etc. Fab cocktails. By the end of the holiday us and some other guests were all making cocktails with him.

We out for a meal every night. Tried somewhere different everytime. Restaurants on the harbour are good. Paella, fish etc, all good. There is a great bar called Pago which has live music most nights and has a good atmosphere.

Watch the jelly fish, I got stung on my foot whilst paddling in the sea.

Overall a great relaxing holiday with plenty of food and drink. Would definately go again.

Great Holiday by LynneW52
10 / 10

Had a lovely relaxing week at these apartments. Spacious and very clean we were highly delighted. We didn't find any problems with sunbeds but it was low season and not too many people in the apartments. Pool was very clean and the pool bar run by Augustin was great. He was so friendly and couldn't do enough for you.

Cala Bona is very chilled out with some good restaurants around the harbour and sea front.

I would highly recommend these apartments for a "chilled out" holiday.

Great Relaxing Holiday by Tom4681
10 / 10

My partner and I stayed for 7 days at the apartments and thought they were ideal for a relaxing and quiet holiday in the sun. The apartments are part of the Floriana complex but are quite separate and this means that they remain quiet and are away from any of the noisy activities that take place day and night. The pool is quite small however it is perfect for the number of apartments which surround it. The pool area was clean and the bar had a decent selection of food and drink.

The room we had was small and we pushed 2 sofa beds together for sleeping. It was adequately equipped and there was everything we needed to prepare our own meals. The bathroom was fine with a decent shower and was clean.

The resort staff were all friendly and helpful.

Location wise, the closest shop was a Spar about 200 yards from the apartments. It was quite expensive but well stocked for basic items. The beach was a 5 minute walk and the harbour and restaurants were all about 10 minutes.

Loved the Bahia Azul by lizzieOrmskirk
10 / 10

I've just spent a week with my husband and two kids, in late August, at the Bahia Azul. The apartment was fantastic we had an enormous terrace with views on three sides and could even see the sea. We also had a balcony over looking the pool. The apartment was cleaned daily and was well furnished. The kids loved going in the pool, which though it wasn't huge, was big enough.

The location was peaceful but within a five minute walk of the sea. The harbour at Cala Bona was good for restaurants in the evening with some sort of street entertainers most nights when we were eating out there, which kept the kids entertained.

Having just arrived back from Bahia... by P Coleman
9 / 10

Having just arrived back from Bahia Azul apartments on Sunday 7th September, im depressed. Hubby and I had a wonderful time, weather was just spot on. Was our third time of going back to this complex, having stayed twice in the Floriana and now the Bahia, we were given a free bottle of bubbly.

The hotel grounds you could not fault, rooms were kept spotless and towels and linen changed regularly. The only down side to the holiday was .......... you guessed, sunbeds. We were told no reserving sunbeds, and we looked out over the pool early a couple of mornings, 5.30ish and towels already on the beds. Kind of spoils it for other holiday makers who have also payed for the privilege of the beds.

We ate out regularly down by the harbour, Smithys and Janet and Johns, food was ample and tasty.

We hopefully will be returning again next year to the Bahia and look forward to the "good" toasties from the pool bar.

Early Starts!!! by StaffsSunlover

Just got back from a great holiday in cala bona. The apartments were spotless with all the things you need provided, including air con! Hot water was always available,we never had a cold shower once! The only thing i could moan about was the selfish ENGLISH holiday makers(not German!) who would get up at 6am every morning and take upto 6 beds at a time, so leaving us and our children none. This however turned in our favour as it meant that we got to see more of the resort and surrounding area which is very nice. Every bar and restaurant we went into was very nice and my children especially liked the Waterfront bar,Sonnys, and all the ice cream parlours along the way! So even though i have had a little rant we had a wonderfull holiday and got to see and do lots of things including PIRATES which was fantastic and MARINELAND which was our childrens favourite unlike the boring sunbed hoggers, who only got to see the same 4 corners everyday!(even though the pool and gardens were very nice).

Have just returned from 10 days at... by H Griffiths

Have just returned from 10 days at the Bahia Azul apartments in Cala Bona and had a great time with fantastic weather. The apartment complex is lovely and almost has a villa feel to it as it is quite small and set in a quiet residential area. All guests are British and everyone is very friendly. There is a pool bar which is reasonably priced and offers a very varied menu. This closes at 6pm which is a little early as there is no bar in the hotel. You can use the Floriana over the road if you are feeling brave but we didnt like it over there as it was too big and noisy and very international! The pools over there are good though and you can use the tennis courts. Give the entertainment a miss as it is not up to much. Cala Bona is lovely and has plenty of places to eat although down by the harbour it is much more expensive! We enjoyed Yates which has entertainment aswell as good food and sonnys bar. Cala Millor is very close and is a bit more lively and only about 10-15 mins walk.

The aparments at Bahia Azul are very spacious, although I understand that some are bigger than others. We were very happy with ours and all overlook the pool. The down side was the lack of sunbeds, hope you like an early start as you need to be up by 7.30am to get one and you have to stay with it or risk your towels being moved by management. However, we were there at peak time. Overall we had a great time and would return at some time in the future.

Bahia Azul was lovely. Although our apartment was on the 4th floor (no lifts and 68 steps!) we couldn't fault it. The apartment was spotless, modern, spacious and everything in it worked properly. Beds were clean fresh and comfortable.

Resort centre, harbour and beautiful beaches were a short walk away and we had fantastic food every night. Theres a lovely local bar called Marias by the apartment where the staff and locals made us feel very welcome. We was going to hire a car but as the resort was so accommodating we didn't feel the need to go further afield.

Down side - there is a limited number of sunbeds at the apartments and even though the staff did their best to prevent selfish holiday makers from reserving beds before 9.00am we only managed to get sunbeds on 1 of our 7 days there. Still it was their loss because by sitting around the pool all day they missed the great attractions in Cala Bona and Calla Millor.

Virtually perfect. The studio that we stayed in was to a very high standard. The sofa beds were very comfortable. The air conditioning worked really well, all included in the price. We left it running all the time on the low fan setting which is very quiet. No problems getting a good nights sleep in the heat. The hotel location is excellent. Only a five minute walk to the beach, bars and restaurants but in a very quiet area. No noisy revellers, mopeds, crickets or anything else. Cleaners did a really good job, all towels, bathmat and tea towel changed five times a week. Bedding changed twice weekly. 2 ring hob, microwave, toaster, pots, pans, even a whistling kettle. Just about everything you could possible need unless you are entering masterchef. Staff all friendly and efficient. The pool was rather small and the problem of people reserving sunbeds with towels happens wherever you go. Having said that, in the two weeks we were there we always got two sunbeds when we wanted them. Don't think I ever saw all of them in use. You do have access to the Floriana facilities too. The pool there is bigger and we spent a couple of days there on a sunbeds on the large grassed area. Always possible to find some shade under the many trees and nice and peaceful away from the pool. One further note, our room number 3213 had the most amazing balcony. While most rooms had balconies about 12 foot by 3 foot ours was over 30 feet long and varied from 6 foot to 10 foot wide. South facing with sun all day and some shade if needed most of the time. We will certainly ask for the same room again because we will be going back. We spoke to 2 families that were there on their third visit and I think we will probably do the same.
