Having just arrived back from Bahia Azul apartments on Sunday 7th September, im depressed. Hubby and I had a wonderful time, weather was just spot on. Was our third time of going back to this complex, having stayed twice in the Floriana and now the Bahia, we were given a free bottle of bubbly.
The hotel grounds you could not fault, rooms were kept spotless and towels and linen changed regularly. The only down side to the holiday was .......... you guessed, sunbeds. We were told no reserving sunbeds, and we looked out over the pool early a couple of mornings, 5.30ish and towels already on the beds. Kind of spoils it for other holiday makers who have also payed for the privilege of the beds.
We ate out regularly down by the harbour, Smithys and Janet and Johns, food was ample and tasty.
We hopefully will be returning again next year to the Bahia and look forward to the "good" toasties from the pool bar.
Have just returned from 10 days...

Have just returned from 10 days at the Bahia Azul apartments in Cala Bona and had a great time with fantastic weather. The apartment complex is lovely and almost has a villa feel to it as it is quite small and set in a quiet residential area. All guests are British and everyone is very friendly. There is a pool bar which is reasonably priced and offers a very varied menu. This closes at 6pm which is a little early as there is no bar in the hotel. You can use the Floriana over the road if you are feeling brave but we didnt like it over there as it was too big and noisy and very international! The pools over there are good though and you can use the tennis courts. Give the entertainment a miss as it is not up to much. Cala Bona is lovely and has plenty of places to eat although down by the harbour it is much more expensive! We enjoyed Yates which has entertainment aswell as good food and sonnys bar. Cala Millor is very close and is a bit more lively and only about 10-15 mins walk.
The aparments at Bahia Azul are very spacious, although I understand that some are bigger than others. We were very happy with ours and all overlook the pool. The down side was the lack of sunbeds, hope you like an early start as you need to be up by 7.30am to get one and you have to stay with it or risk your towels being moved by management. However, we were there at peak time. Overall we had a great time and would return at some time in the future.
Bahia Azul was lovely. Although...

Bahia Azul was lovely. Although our apartment was on the 4th floor (no lifts and 68 steps!) we couldn't fault it. The apartment was spotless, modern, spacious and everything in it worked properly. Beds were clean fresh and comfortable.
Resort centre, harbour and beautiful beaches were a short walk away and we had fantastic food every night. Theres a lovely local bar called Marias by the apartment where the staff and locals made us feel very welcome. We was going to hire a car but as the resort was so accommodating we didn't feel the need to go further afield.
Down side - there is a limited number of sunbeds at the apartments and even though the staff did their best to prevent selfish holiday makers from reserving beds before 9.00am we only managed to get sunbeds on 1 of our 7 days there. Still it was their loss because by sitting around the pool all day they missed the great attractions in Cala Bona and Calla Millor.

Virtually perfect. The studio that we stayed in was to a very high standard. The sofa beds were very comfortable. The air conditioning worked really well, all included in the price. We left it running all the time on the low fan setting which is very quiet. No problems getting a good nights sleep in the heat. The hotel location is excellent. Only a five minute walk to the beach, bars and restaurants but in a very quiet area. No noisy revellers, mopeds, crickets or anything else. Cleaners did a really good job, all towels, bathmat and tea towel changed five times a week. Bedding changed twice weekly. 2 ring hob, microwave, toaster, pots, pans, even a whistling kettle. Just about everything you could possible need unless you are entering masterchef. Staff all friendly and efficient. The pool was rather small and the problem of people reserving sunbeds with towels happens wherever you go. Having said that, in the two weeks we were there we always got two sunbeds when we wanted them. Don't think I ever saw all of them in use. You do have access to the Floriana facilities too. The pool there is bigger and we spent a couple of days there on a sunbeds on the large grassed area. Always possible to find some shade under the many trees and nice and peaceful away from the pool. One further note, our room number 3213 had the most amazing balcony. While most rooms had balconies about 12 foot by 3 foot ours was over 30 feet long and varied from 6 foot to 10 foot wide. South facing with sun all day and some shade if needed most of the time. We will certainly ask for the same room again because we will be going back. We spoke to 2 families that were there on their third visit and I think we will probably do the same.

We found the apartments very comfortable, clean and well equipped for our young family (2 boys aged 3 and 4)and the pool was ideal for them. I also used the larger pool in the main complex as it was big enough to do proper length swimming (although I did have to go early in the morning before it was too busy). The entertainment for the boys was very good with a disco every night and one night they had some magicians which the boys thought was great. My husband had a leg in plaster and the reception were very helpful arranging for our luggage to be delivered to our apartment. The beach at Cala Bona is not great but Cala Millor is a short distance away and is much better. The supermarkets are quite expensive and lacked fresh produce. The restaurants around the harbour are the best and serve some very good fish dishes but kids menu was limited and lacked vegetables/salad.

Just returned from a 2 week holiday in these apartments which are very nicely decorated and kept spotlessly clean. Pool nice but very small especially when there are lots of children jumping in. You can use the pools in the Floriana but you are outnumbered by 50 - 1 by Germans. However I did manage to get some swimming in. The poolside bar is very nice and the staff very friendly and helpful.
When we arrived I thought we were in the middle of nowhere but in fact the apartments are located in a quiet residential area. Just 10 minutes walk away and you have a host of good restaurants. Try Janet & Johns, they do paella for 1 and also try Papparazzi in the harbour area, and the Donkeys Rest. Good fun pub is the Sanddancers and Stanleys Tea Rooms are great for delicious cakes and scones. Overall we enjoyed a lovely holiday.

We could not fault the Bahia Azul apartments. We were given a first floor one bedroom apartment overlooking the pool. Rooms were cleaned regularly. The staff at the sister hotel across the road were more than helpful with any needs we had.
The only thing we found was that it was quite a drag walking back from the restaurants near the harbour on a night - but having said that the food there was excellent and well worth the walk.
The beach at Cala Bona is not really suitable for swimming in, you are far better walking the extra 10-15 minutes to Cala Millor but they do get quite crowded there.
Overall can't fault the holiday and we did meet some wonderful people (both Majorcans and Germans).

Apartments were spotless. Amenities were ok.
Snack bar closed at five, thought it was too early. Didn’t cater for dietary needs though. Staff very helpful as well.
Only 10 to 15 minutes to the beach and shops. Buses were quite frequent. The pool was always clean the next day. The staff were always happy and very friendly as well.

If you are wanting a fairly peaceful family holiday this would be a good accommodation and resort to stay at.
The apartments are situated in a residential area 5 mins walk from the resort centre and are opposite a larger sister hotel that has all the amenities such as: kids club, entertainment, restaurant, bar, reception etc.
Cala Bona itself is quiet and has a nice harbour although the beach isn't the best, however a five to ten minute walk along the front will lead you to neighbouring Cala Millor which has a lot more on offer and a better beach.
If you are travelling with kids there is a bar called sandancers where parents can enjoy a drink while the children play in the safe enclosed play area or use the cinema room. There are play stations to keep older kids amused.
I would recommend the apartments/resort for families and couples but not groups or singles.
I liked the fact that this was a quiet place yet you had the options to go to neighbouring resorts or use facilities at livelier hotels if you felt like it.

This is our second year running we stayed at Bahia Azul in Cala Bona. Our party consisted of two families, 5 adults and 3 children, one aged 10 and two 13 year olds.
The resort is beautiful, suitable for all ages, good wheelchair access to the shops. The beach is better in Cala Millor and only a 15 min walk from Cala Bona. The apartments themselves are well maintained with good views overlooking the pool. The bar staff around the pool are very friendly and helpful. At the Florianna there is a wide choice of food suitable for all and the staff at the hotel are very friendly. We found the evening entertainment is aimed for other holiday makers and not British, you also need to arrive early to get a seat.
Overall, a good holiday resort but get up early to put your towels out or miss out on a sunbed!

Just returned from the Bahia Azul apt, we were given a ground floor terrace right in front of the pool it was perfect. All apartments have a pool view and the surrounding gardens are very well kept. I couldn't fault the inside of the apts which were very clean and pleasantly decorated, great air conditioning that wasn't noisy either. The kitchen cooking facilities consisted of a slow 2 ring hob, microwave, toaster and kettle, we never really cooked as there were such a lovely choice of restaurants on the harbour we didn't need to and also a good snack bar around the pool.
The cleaners came every day bar weds and sat for towel changes etc, they did a great job & were very pleasant. The resort itself is lovely and if you fancy a livelier night out Cala Millor is on the doorstep. Overall we had a fantastic holiday in great accommodation in a good resort would definitely recommend.

The Bahia Azul apartments were absolutely perfect for us as our son was only 1 when we stayed there.
We had a ground floor studio which was right in front of the children’s pool, this was fantastic as when our little one went to sleep in the afternoon, we could still sit round the pool and still see him sleeping.
We are going back this year purely for this reason as usually one of you ends up having to go back to the room.
Anyways rooms are spotless, far superior and cleaner than anywhere we have stayed before. And we have been too many different places over the years.
The resort of Cala Bona is perfect for people with children it's very laid back and has a very relaxed feel to it. Beaches are lovely and nearby.
Restaurants are plentiful also nearby. Every taste is catered. There is everything from typical British food to typical Mallorca food, which I would strongly recommend you try!
For British food Smithys on the harbour was great big portions, nice food, nice staff, and `made baby very welcome. Also Yates was great for food, nice people and most night’s entertainment whilst you ate.
If you want something more Mallorca then Jimmy c'an is the place to go. Everything from suckling pig to T-bone steak on bbq, well worth a visit lots of locals eat there it’s roughly in the street behind kfc on the way to Cala Millor.
Oh and for a great mix of all food Chiri's at the end of the harbour is the best restaurant in Cala Bona we went there around 5 nights out of our 2 weeks and did not have a bad meal gets very busy to well worth booking to avoid disappointment.
Anyways what else can I say great place going back soon can't wait.

Had a great holiday here! 4 of us went, 18 year olds. Pool a bit full of little kids but beach in Cala Millor is great and only 15 min walk along beach front. If you want sum night life then Havana is the place to go, went there every night, open until 6 in the morning!
People in Cala Bona + Millor very friendly. Cala bona is nice but was a bit quiet for us, spent most of our time in Cala Millor - better shops, restaurants and bars.
Went to marine land, we felt it wasn't value for money - way 2 small, ended up sitting in cafe as was only in there for 1 + half hours and had to wait for coach for 4 hours!
Places to eat - British bulldog - say hello to mark and the scouser dj and tuck in is great! Also Yates is quite good although they thought we were Swedish! Overall had a great holiday and I want to go back already!
