Thoroughly enjoyed just about everything!
We went as two couples, arriving at about 1.30am. After checking in we were shown to the restaurant where cold food and drinks were there for us to enjoy. After filling our tums, we went to find our rooms. Lifts available if required. One bed apartment, with balcony and air con was great. Sheets and towels changed every two days. Pools were very clean and there was no rush for sun beds, maybe because we went in mid Sept. We were more than happy with the food. Although, the hotel mainly catered for the german clients, we were more than happy with the selection of food and would recommend going all inclusive. Even we were 15 mins away from the restaurant closing of an evening, they were still bringing fresh food out from the kitchens. Their desserts were fab. Food was also on hand for all inclusives at the beach bar and drinks whenever you want them. Staff worked their socks off and were very friendly. Entertainment was mainly for the german clients with a group of two girls and two boys entertaining the guests - a big pat on the back to Andy who seemed to be the head honcho of the entertainers. He worked his socks off, especially with the little ones. He went out of his way during quizzes to ask the questions in english as well as german. Sometimes the questions got 'lost in translation' - however, it was all part of the fun! Well done Andy, you are a little gem. Location: very quiet, and a 1 minute walk to the small local lovely beach, or a 10 minute walk to the main shops of Portinaxt where there were several other beaches. If you want a chill out holiday then this is for you! It is nowhere near the clubs of Ibiza - they are a 50euro taxi away. Buses don't run as often as they do from other towns. Took about half an hour to get into Ibiza town, however the bus drivers like to pack the buses like sardines, which was a bit hairy. If you want a busy place with lots of shops etc, this is not the place for you. For that, try Santa Eularia, which is a very nice place. However, if you just want to chill out, get some sun, read your book and eat and drink whenever, then you can't go wrong to pick this hotel. It was our first ever all-inclusive and we were absolutely delighted we made that decision. We would go back again, no hesitation.
Good holiday - but be prepared for steps, steps and more steps!!
We just got back from a week at Paradise Beach, we did a self-catering option which I did consider upgrading to all-inclusive (would have cost me 70 euro a day), once I had assessed the catering options, but found that the queues to get into the restaurant were long, the other food options (Mexican Corner and Beach Bar) looked pretty ordinary so decided to stay self-catering, although this also has it's challenges as the studio we occupied has a very small kitchenette with 2 hot plates and a basic set of cookware, so you need to plan meals carefully. Also, without a car, the walk to the nearest Supermarket is approx 10-15 minutes, and carting groceries back to the apartment takes it's toll on a hot day, accompanied by the fact that the road is very hilly, and the fact that our apartment was on the top floor and there are loads of steps, even before you can get in the lift!! So, you are now in the flat, the small but ample fridge is cooling down the beer/wine etc, and you go out onto your balcony via the french door (which must stay closed if you want the aircon to work!!!! I only found that out after I asked reception to swap the Room welcome pack from German to English!!!) and you can expect a very nice view of the small beach across the road, go down at about 8:30pm to take in the sunset, it's quite spectacular, from there there is a very nice restaurant (Pueblo) which does great seafood, or the Paradise Beach Bar which is basic and food is buffet style (All-in guests help themselves, we paid 20 euro for 4 meals - not bad after a long day travelling from UK). Then back to the apartment to relax (if you don't speak German don't even bother turning on the TV!!!!!!!!). From Thursday to Saturday there is a small Cocktail Bar adjacent to the complex which opens at 11PM till about 5AM, it's the closest we got to the "Clubbing" experience which Ibiza is famous for!!. With the balcony door closed the music is hardly noticeable. The hotel reception staff were always friendly and courteous, there is free WI-FI if you want to take your laptop (in the foyer only, not the rooms) otherwise it's 1 euro for 10 minutes on their PC's. In the town itself there are a few Spar supermarkets, beware some of the prices are ludicrous (2.75 euro for a loaf of bread, 1.75 euro for 5L water, 2.50 euro for 6 eggs) but I did expect it to be, although we went to Ibiza town for a day trip (Bus 20) and shopped in a more recognisable mainstream supermarket which was a lot cheaper. Also you can buy ciggies and cheap booze at Boozy Buys (really friendly staff and you can even drink it on their patio) and if you're homesick then Del Boys Pub/Restaurant does fairly cheap food, they have Sky Sports for the footie etc.. All in all a family friendly resort town, really scenic and one which I would re-visit but would definitely consider car-hire,
