Hotel Son Baulo

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay at the Son Baulo in the summer. This was our second visit to Can Picafort but our first visit to the Son Baulo Hotel.
The accommodation was good with plenty of space in our Triple bedded room. The maid service was efficient and the rooms cleaned and fresh towels provided on a daily basis.
The food was of a high standard, with plenty of choice for both adults and children alike. The dining room tended to get a bit cramped at peak times, but this was no great problem.
Staff and Thomson reps were very friendly and helpful. There was good entertainment laid on in the evening for both children and adults, and with the regular antics of Wacky Wendy and Co., the children were kept amused. Bus service is cheap and regular. However, we hired a car for three days and this was money well spent as we were able to see more of Majorca that we would have otherwise. A visit to the Western Water Park is a must for families.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to families, and we would certainly consider re-visiting this part of Majorca and staying at the Son Baulo.

Beautiful hotel, right on the beach. Spectacular views from the rooms, if you are lucky to get a sea view room. Next to a lake and a Natural Park. Shops and bars just across the street.
Superb food with healthy options and a children buffet.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Spotlessly clean, clean towels every day. Much more than expected. Excellent value for money.

I have been going to this resort for 2 years now and this year will have been the 3 time I stayed there, the first time was with young children and the kids love it and the adults can relaxed and enjoy watching there kids have fun. The staff both Thomson and the hotels own are brilliant they are always helpful and friendly I can honestly say that I have made good friends of some of them and will be keeping in contact with them until I return next year.
This hotel is not guarded towards teenagers but there where teenagers there and they seemed to be having as much fun as everyone else, the entertainment in the evening this year was 100 % better this year than last (keep up the good work) the hotel is situated beautifully on the beach and the food is excellent with plenty of choice and a separate menu for the children. I would definitely recommend this hotel as good value and a good base for sightseeing of the island. It is situated at the quieter end of can Picafort but a small walk away is the main town with heaps to do. There is a bus service that runs every 5 mins from outside the hotel to every part of the island. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Not our kind of holiday at all. Do not go to this hotel if you do not have children. The place is filled with them even in September. This made the dinning room very noisy. Entertainment was terrible. Swimming pool very small for the size of the hotel. Maid service was very poor. Towels rarely changed and sheets never changed. They swept the middle of the floor only.
Hotel needs total modernisation. Doors leading on to balconies do not seem very secure. The hotel only seems to operate through Thomson which meant there were only British people in the hotel. This does not appeal to us. Enjoyed this resort only a few years ago. It has however become very tacky and very scruffy in only a short time. There are far better places to stay in Majorca. Not value for money.

This was our first time going abroad. We found the staff at the hotel where very polite and helpful, the reps where also friendly, we had a brilliant time.
The food was excellent the service excellent the rooms very clean indeed, we are hoping to go again soon but rest assured that if you have any reservations about the resort or the hotel forget them and enjoy .the entertainment was brilliant, there are also lots for the kids to do.
We do not have young children at home but what we saw was fantastic the kids really enjoyed themselves so well done Steve, wacky Wendy, desperate Dan and all for making our first holiday abroad a great and memorable one.
