" Atlantis Villa, Katelios, Kefalonia "

Just returned from our holiday to the Atlantis Villa in the resort of Katelios, Kefalonia. We booked the Villa with Vintage Travel of cambridge who were extremely helpful and very professional. We booked the flights ourselves with Avro but in hindsight we should have got Vintage to book them as they were the same price anyway. The car hire we had we booked through Avis as we get a discount with them. The car hire turned out to be not so good, Avis is run by a Company called Liberatos who's cars are not Avis quality. we should have just booked one through Vintage.
Arrived at the Villa to find a a few essentials for us, Coffee, milk, Orange juice, bread, butter, Jam etc.
The Villa is next door to the sister Villa Okeanis and is just above the Poseidonia (also Vintage Travels). It's about a 10-15 minute stroll partly downhill to the shops and restaurants, the driveway and small road leading from the Villa is very steep and could be impossible for the infirm to walk up or down.
the outside of the Villa is all hardstanding and is full of flower beds, pots and is fenced off quite safetly as it's built into the hill. There is a pool and a plunge pool with 6 beds with rather old covers on them. The pool area isn't finished off to the highest standards but was satisfactory. We had our 2 year old with us and he did cut his foot by the pool on the slighly uneven slabs. There is a built-in BBQ and 2 sets of tables and chairs.
Inside has been designed by the Building Company 'Lord Byron', it's not really to the taste of English people i would say. The walls are covered in unusual pictures and icons and lots of figures and statues. There are 3 sofa's spread out in the large lounge but only one is in view of the TV, which has only Greek programmes on. There is a DVD player thank god as we took some for our son.
The Kitchen has a large table chairs and has all the equipment you could need. There were not any tea towels or hand towels in the kitchen or any cleaning items.
Upstairs there are 2 twin rooms one with one balcony and the other leads out onto the rear parking area, also a double which is on the front and is a very large room with 3 balconies, a table & chairs on one of them would have been fabulous to admire the great views from all balconies.
The negatives for us were few, we got used to cool/cold showers as the water tank was very small, and smelly drains in the bathrooms.

Advice: Quiet and laid back but friendly.

Activities: We liked Katelios Taverna, but hated the cats. Visited Sami which was beautiful but seemed remote.

Good for: Beach
