Arrived at the Hotel at the end of July for 1 week. Found the hotel fine, the rooms are a little basic but clean, watch out for stumping your toes on the beds. The hotel lifts leave a lot to be desired.
Very little chance of getting a sun-bed next to a nice pool area, and the promise made by the reps of removing all lonely towels after 30 minutes was never carried out.
Evening entertainment was very good, kids and adults seem to enjoy it, watch out for the Jackson Five tribute band, a great night.
Breakfast and evening meals were fine, price of beer was reasonable and all hotel staff very friendly.
The resort area is fine with a wonderful child friendly beach as its main point. A very good public bus service runs from outside the hotel, across the road from the hotel complex there is a large supermarket.
Our biggest problem on this holiday was with the Thomson Reps, extremely unhelpful and rude, and in our moment of need when having no belongings due to Thomson’s fly losing our suitcase between Manchester and Palma, we had to rely on the generosity of many guests (yet again thank you) rather than the help and support of the Thomson reps.
The good news was our suitcase arrived on our wedding anniversary which is also one day before our daughters 1st birthday. The bad news was it arrived three days before heading home.

Hi, we stayed here June 2005 with an 18 month and 3 year old. We loved it, the staff are really friendly and helpful, everything was always really clean and the food was really nice too.
They have a buffet just for the kids, but they can also help themselves to the big one. We watched the staff and if they thought that the food had been sat out too long (for example the eggs in a morning) it went in the bin and fresh food replaced it so that gave us confidence in the quality of cooking etc. The snacks are quite expensive but no more than any other hotel.
The beach is just down the road so you don't have far to walk with all the kids stuff. The lifts are small but there isn't too much of a wait around for it as it's a small hotel anyway. The Thomson reps where rubbish when we were there but obviously they change each year anyway. They just wanted to sell tickets to the shows but be warned they are expensive so if you are planning on going on some take more money with you!!! I didn't see the reps for the kids apart from at the kids disco on an evening but they might be a bit better now.
The only problem we had with this hotel was like most hotels you have to get there early for a seat and people just let their kids run riot while they wait, they climb and run over your seats, climb on the stage even when the shows are setting their equipment up etc and its really hard because your kids want to join in too because obviously all the others are. We came back to the hotel and the lounge was full as everyone was waiting for the disco to start, the only seat we could get was at the bar and the kids asked if they could join all the others waiting for the disco so we said yes and within 2 minutes all we could hear was screaming as our 18 month had climbed on the stage to join all the big boys, (we couldn't see the stage from where we were sitting because if we had known they were all on the stage we wouldn't have let them go) and fallen off and head-butted the floor and all the people near the stage just sat there and not one person tried to help him up, but luckily we recognised the cry and went to him and he had biggest bruise and lump you have ever seen. We tried to complain to the reps several times about people letting their kids run riot but they didn't really care.
But anyway they have great shows like Elvis, Westlife etc and its just a lovely, clean, value for money, family friendly hotel and we would go back again its just a few people that you always find somewhere who don't control their kids.

Just got back from a 2 week holiday at the Haiti hotel and it was a truly great holiday. Cannot give enough praise to ALL the members of staff at this hotel they go out of their way to help and are always very happy and polite.
The hotel itself is very clean, the cleaners do an amazing job. The only downside to the rooms in my opinion was the fact that there were no facilities for making a cup of tea or coffee within the rooms. No radio or television and no hairdryer, which on other half board holidays we have taken there has been. Also its true about the end of the beds. They stick out further than the mattress and there were lots of stubbing toe incidents!!
The pool was very clean and the area around the pool was kept clean all the time. I would imagine though, during peak season, that it would be hard to get a sunbed unless you were out early to get one. Because there never seemed to be enough to go around. Must say I don't agree with a lot of reviews about the entertainment, I felt it was very poor during the day, apart from a 30 minute kids club that seemed to be it. And I feel maybe a pool table or something would go down a storm, for kids to play on.
If you miss England while out there, just turn right out of the hotel then right again and follow the road down to the bottom near the seafront....there are 4 really great british pubs!! Two of which offer X-box or PS2 for kids to play on! The food in the Sunburnt Arms and the Williams are out of this world, definitely worth a try. If you go on further down to the beach you will find tons of cafes etc. And the beach itself is great, very clean and its costs 7 euros for 2 sunbeds and a umbrella.
If you get chance grab yourself a snorkel set because you can see to the bottom of the sea and there's some great fish to see! Also must mention THE PIRATES ADVENTURE.....If you get a chance to see this show then I would give it a 10/10. It was truly worth the money and would watch it again and again. The kids loved it and were hooked on it from beginning to end......its a definite must see.

We went to hotel Haiti in August for 10 days. Can't complain about the hotel at all, rooms clean, food excellent, entertainment good, kids club excellent, Nick and Irene work their socks off!
Only down side was my husband took ill, which put a dampner on the holiday, but hotel were very helpful in getting a doctor.
Don't understand why they have 2 pools that they don't use, when the main 1 was out of action for a day and also the lifts are prone to break down, didn't affect us as we were on 1st floor, but can imagine people on the 5th floor weren't best pleased.
Can Picafort is a lovely resort beach is gorgeous, trotters on the beach is a good bar to go get a drink to cool off, also on way back up to hotel from beach there are 4 English pubs, which have toys for little ones to play with and play stations and x boxes for older kids to keep them entertained!

We tried all the recommended watering holes; The London pub, Anne & Neil's also William's Bar; the best of the three in my opinion a great pint of Fosters and you must try the Sunday lunch also ask Andy to do a card trick he's good, then there's Paco and William himself they are great guy's went there nearly every night, friendly atmosphere great place lovely people I would recommend the place to everybody.

Holidayed at this hotel 6 years ago, was looking for a late holiday (although had to pay full fares!) and this one popped up, did wonder if it would be as good as it was then, you never know do you? but we needn't have worried at all. Upon booking our holiday we asked for a lowish floor with a pool view (which we got).
The food was still as good, catering for everyone's taste, whether you be a veggie or a big meat eater, the children had their own hotplate, which consisted of normal kid’s meals, pasta, chips, pizza, nuggets, fish fingers.
Adults buffet was good as well with a great selection of salad stuff, two soups each night to choose from, and hotplate normally consisted of a meat/fish/pasta along with seasonable veggies and two choices of potato, i.e. chips, mash.
Breakfast consists of full English, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruits, tea coffee, juice, rolls, cheese, ham, toast/jam. Hotel catering for British taste, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Yes "BEWARE" of bed legs, I did manage to stub my toe a couple of times, despite reading previous warnings. Our room was clean and comfy with fresh white towels each day and a daily maid. The room had a safe which you could hire (recommended on any holiday whilst abroad) cost was about £10-£12 which is good to keep your valuables safe (you get a deposit of 3 Euros back).
The hotel is in an excellent location, you have a supermarket across the road (which is great for bottled water or fizzy for your room) probably our equiv. of Tesco's or Sains, which opened till late each day except for Sun (closed).
If you come out of the hotel and turn first right down the road which runs along the hotel, this takes you to the shops and the beach, also down this road was 4 English pubs altogether, Anne & Neils, The Sunburnt Arms, Williams Bar and the London Pub, these were always busy with English people (they also have sky TV, so you can still catch up on the Soaps from back home!) took my 12 year old son who loved the Sunburnt Arms, as they offered free Xbox to children of parents who were drinking there, they also had a pool table and lots for the kids to do, including colouring and boxed games. As with Anne & Neils bar which also offered a pool table.
Down nearer on the beach were plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops, we spent quite a bit of time in Trotters on the Beach (yeah a Del and Rodney thing!) they were all very friendly, all open till late with a nice Mediterranean feel about it, lots of market stalls up near the harbour in the evenings, nice to grab yourself a little treat of fashion jewellery or sit and have your portrait done.
Did not use the beach, but walked past it many a time, very sandy and looked nice.
Pool at hotel quite deep, have suggested on my questionnaire, that they put a handrail around it for non swimmers like myself to have something to hold on to. kids have a separate section of the pool but can get quite crowded in height of the season. You cannot creep downstairs at 6am and put your towels on the sunbeds, they open up at 8am and they are quite strict to this ruling, which seems fair as this gives everyone a chance.
Hotel staff very accommodating and friendly and reception staff have good understanding of English, hotel sells daily papers, postcards and books.
Entertainment seemed to be good, although we always walked down to the beach for our evenings in the bars, the lounge area of the hotel (where entertainment is) can be restricted for viewing due to pillars in the way, but this is the design of the construction.
Overall a great hotel with a friendly atmosphere, catering for the Brits. 9/10.

When we first arrived in Can Picafort, we were slightly let down by our surroundings. However, once we arrived in the Hotel Haiti and had a good look around the resort our opinion soon changed. The hotel itself could have used a pool table or something like that for the older children like myself.
The entertainers, aswell as running a kids club throughout the day, worked very hard to include older children and even adults in their afternoon activities such as water polo, rifle shooting, darts, and archery. In short the entertainers, Nick and Irene, were absolutely superb. For younger children there was a themed mini disco each night, which included party dances and games, where the kids could win prizes.
After this the hotel always hosted great cabaret acts like, a Westlife Tribute Band. A particularly good night for me was when the two entertainers hosted a game called " You Bet" where the audience bets the entertainers to perform certain tasks, and the entertainers bet with the audience. All in alll the entertainment, both day and night, were brilliant.
If you are after a good British themed bar try Williams Bar or The London Pub, which are pretty quiet but good for a pint or two... or three! These can be found by taking a right out of the hotel then your first right.
Altogether, the hotel and the resort itself made for a great summer holiday and I would definitely reccomend it to families of all ages.

Went to the Hotel Haiti in June, booked as a last minute deal. I was unsure to start with as only booked it 2 days before going but the hotel is fantastic.
The food was great, loads of choice for breakfast and dinner and it tastes great and well presented.
The hotel and pool area was spotless and you could always get a sunbed. The No.1 Pub is great as well. Recommend this for couples wanting a nice week away together its not like Ibiza or Magaluf so don't expect parties until the early hours but a great relaxing holiday.
Did have a great view from room but didn't spend much time in there and what can you expect when booking with 2 days notice. Only down side was Can Picafort has a lot of German holiday makers but that was not really an issue.

Stayed for a week in August. Myself, partner and one 11 year old daughter.
Room was basic but all that you need really as you don't spend a lot of time there. We had a room on the second floor facing the pool. Maid service cleans the room every day and makes up the beds.
Pool is large and very deep in places and can be quite deceiving. Its also quite cold when you first get in (or get pushed in by your partner!). There are plenty of inflatables left by other guests to use. Thank you to whoever left the yellow Sponge Bob Squarepants Lilo - he provided my other half great enjoyment running and jumping into the pool on him!
Plenty of sun beds with parasols and tables. The hotel has a rule of not reserving sunbeds early on a morning but most people are up and about just after 8 and hit the pool just after breakfast. We had no problems getting a bed near the poolside to watch our daughter.
Food was fantastic - breakfast was fruit juices, cereals, yoghurts, continental or cooked. You can have as much or as little as you like from the buffet. Coffee was VERY strong! Stick with the tea.
Evening meal has a good variety of choices and the menu is on display outside the restaurant from about lunchtime. They have a selection of childrens meals on a separate section of the buffet. Vegetarian choices and plenty of salads to choose from. You pay for your drinks with your evening meal on the way out of the restaurant.
Entertainment - they have a kids club which is mainly aimed at the under 10's. Different shows are on every night and we very much enjoyed the Elvis night. Seating arrangements could have been better as sometime the pillars got in the way of seeing the stage.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful. English papers available from reception from around 9am. Lifts are small and can only fit in 4 people, so we only used those when we had too much to carry up and down the stairs. Safety deposit boxes were €15 for the week and we got €3 back on departure.
If you venture out the hotel, try Anne and Neil's bar on the way down to the beach. Very friendly and make an excellent toastie and jacket potato! Neil is a fountain of knowledge about the weather so don't listen to the reps if its a bit cloudy of a morning - just ask Neil....
Try and barter down the hair braiders around on a night by the beach if your daughter insists on wanting them you could end up paying as much as €40 if you don't!

The positives first!
We found the hotel to be generally clean although the decor was looking very tired! The hotel staff were always very accommodating and friendly.
The food offered was very good providing a choice to meet everyone’s taste, including a separate children’s food service.
The Can Picafort resort is very pleasant and has a good variety of shops and bars.
For the Negatives!
The pool area did not have enough sun loungers for the number of people; and those available were monopolised by the early bird sun seekers placing towels to prevent any one else using them! (The management did not follow their threat to remove towels from unoccupied loungers after 30 minutes!)
The most negative point was in relation to the Thompson Reps! They are only interested in selling over priced excursions. They are not interested if you need their support to deal with queries/complaints or at least are not prepared to try!
In summary, we had a lovely break and would be quite happy to visit the hotel again although the Thomson Rep's and shortage of daytime entertainment / Sun loungers could be improved as the resort has a lot to offer.
Excursions i.e. shopping in Palma with a visit to the Cathedral and Museum; Could cost 2 adults and 2 children a third of the price if you opt for public transport and does not have any time restrictions!
The beach in the resort is often very busy; however a short bus ride to Alcudia offers a huge beach with plenty of shaded areas if required.

Stayed for a week with my 4 children, 3 are teenagers. The pool was shut the last day we were there and both the lifts were being mended, which meant carrying all our suitcases down the stairs. The rooms were ok but very basic and our balcony looked out onto a rooftop, and was always in the shade, very upsetting as the holiday was quite expensive.
The food was good at breakfast, with drinks included to help yourself to. At dinner time you have to pay for your own drinks separately, which can get pricey every day.
We asked reception for a wake up call for an excursion...but never received one! On enquiring why not, they checked their monitor and said the phone was out of order.
Wrap a towel around the legs of the beds each day as you will stub your toes many times as they protrude.
We were given rooms 126 and 125 on the first floor........this is directly over the night entertainment, which is LOUD when you are trying to sleep, this finishes at 1pm, so you need not bother going to bed as it is too noisy. Would not visit this hotel again.

We read quite a few reviews of this Hotel before we arrived and were a little apprehensive.
We arrived around at 2am on Monday morning and it seemed extremely quiet. The night clerk was helpful and polite. After check in we went to our rooms feeling relatively relieved that it was not as bad as we had expected.
However, the next morning and every morning after we were woken at 7am by the sound of someone re-arranging furniture loudly for about an hour. Then the delivery trucks arrive so it's pretty much get up then.
Breakfast is good with plenty of choice and it is regularly replenished up until about 8-45.
The pool was nice, if a little cold, be careful though the big area is deceptively deep in places. There is a paddling area for young children which is good. It's quite busy up until mid afternoon but then it's easy to find sun loungers. Plenty of inflatable toys left by previous holiday makers to use.
Evening Meals started good but as the week progressed became a little repetitive. The staff are very friendly and dote over the children.
During the evening/night there is usually entertainment in the bar area. A brilliant kid’s disco where the hosts work extremely hard and the kids love it. Then after there are usually tribute acts and/or disco. This can go on quite late and if your room is above this (as ours was, even on the second floor) it gets quite loud so forget about an early night. Also if you're a non smoker it can get quite smoky in the bar as the smoking in public places laws do not apply over there and people seem to make up for it.
Don't book anything through the reps. go directly to source or find the shops in town selling them. Invariable you can get the same deals for about a third of the price. Don't forget to haggle. Usually you can get young children free. We save about three hundred Euros over the week by doing this.
It's probably best to just use the hotel as a base and travel around more then it doesn't seem that bad. C'an Picafort is a nice town with a good beach although a bit crowded.
Alcudia has excellent beaches and is only a short bus ride away and costs just over 1 Euro each way or try visiting Porto Pollensa which is very pretty and also has a nice beach which is very sheltered and great for little ones as it's very shallow and clean.
The buses are an excellent way to get around and are cheap but can be a little crowded. It's best to catch them down in the town instead of outside the hotel before the fill up from all the other hotels.
On the whole it was a good holiday especially if you are on a tight budget. Don’t expect too much and you'll come away happy. C'an Picafort is a nice town with plenty of restaurants and bars all catering for different tastes and nationalities unless you want to play it safe where there are the usual British bars and a burger king.
Just watch out for the Beds. The legs stick out and they bleeping hurt when you stub your toes on them for the 27th time!!
