Haiti hotel
4 / 10
Jun 2010, TW

Just returned from 1 week at beginning of June 10 - Was disappointed when first arrived, the hotel did not appear to resemble the reviews we had read. I had a twin room with my daughter. I did ask for a pool view, but instead got a view of a rooftop. But the worst part, was couldn't open my curtains when getting dressed as was totally overlooked. The rooms were in needs of a major refurb, the metal work in bathroom had all corroded. Showers were ok, but was a basic model about 20 years old in style. Eventually got used to my surroundings. Air con in rooms was good and maids cleaned every day. My mum had a single room, which was very small.
Food - very tasty, but limited choice on breads. No buns at breakfast or biscuits as get with other all-inclusives. The wine was nice and available at mealtimes. Good service in the restaurants. There were inbetween snacks in bar (sandwiches at 10.30pm and cake at 4.30).Was ok, but again greatly reduced on other all-inclusives.
The general feeling when we were there, was that the hotel was not prepared for being an allinclusive. There TV area was next to the stage, so could not watch in evenings when entertainment was on.This caused a few issues during world cup, but they made an exception when England was playing and cancelled the entertainment - obvioiusly not prepared for the world cup.
Pool area was nice enough - initially thought pool was small, but seemed to cope with demand for early June - not sure how would cope in peak season.
Staff very pleasant and helpful
Would not stay there again, but overall did enjoy my stay. Not up to same standard as other allinclusives, and this is my 8th one in Majorca, although this holiday actually cost £100 more per person than previous ones
ps my 10 year old thoroughly enjoyed! She made some lovely friends. She was sad to leave and wants to go back again!!

This is the 3rd time i have stayed at hotel haiti and enjoyed it so much that i didn't want to leave! the locals and staff are extremely friendly and make you feel very welcome. Can picafort is such a beautiful place and the beaches are lovely! The entertainers were amazing especially Josh! Whether he was just chatting to you around the pool or taking you to the water park for the day he made you feel special, he really made my holiday an amazing experience! He's an absolute credit to your company!

Hotel Haiti 21/05/10 Review

Returned yesterday From our All inclusive 1 week stay at Hotel Haiti - can Picafort.
Location ok. 500m walk down one straight road takes you to the beach, Harbour is nice, also there is a massive market just off the beach. Beach is clean, sand nice, was alot of seaweed, but they were in the process of cleaning it up in certain area's. Along the beach front is a mixture of Bars, cafe's , shops and residential appartements, didnt see many hotels along the front.
Hotel. Food was ok,good selection but pretty repetitive,no theme nights.lots of pizza, chips, fish, pasta. but couldn't complain really.
Bar and service, All spirits are local produce,San miguel on tap which is self service in the restaurant,Real coca cola for kids,Service was good generally. There is a fridge freezer full of icecreams, lollipops for the kids which you can grab anytime, tea's coffee's and water machines all self service.
Hotel is really clean and the rooms are too, maids came round everyday to change towels and bedding also did a general tidy up of your room if required!
Entertainment wasnt great, the 2 reps (Only 1 through the day) didnt really try hard to get people to do activities through the day, but there was shooting, french boulles, quizzes, water polo (no one played when I was there)
At nightime after evening meal, most people go into the main room, kids disco at 8pm for 30 mins,Then bingo at 9pm. Then its was a live act every other night like the beatles, Amy whinehouse,Stevie wonder which were good, but the acts finished the reps just put on the same music on most nights.Hopefully the entertainment will get better as its only days during holiday season.
Pool is a decent size with a kids part, small kids park also there.
overall. Good all inclusive hotel, location ok.Can picofort isnt bad, entertainment could be better.

my partner and two chidren aged 7 and 1 stayed at this hotel and found it to be an okay place to stay staff were very friendly throughout. supermarket across the road which was very useful beach just 5 min walk down the road, as were local shops, bars and cafes. local bus outside hotel every 15 mins into alcudia for 1.50 euros per person only 10 min bus journey. reps in hotel were also very friendly and helpful...food was a bit repeatitive but still plenty to eat...something for everyone..the only downside were the so called entertainers....absolute rubbish the lad was only interested in which other blokes were there for him to chat up...not entertaining for my kids at all..but don't let this put you off, as there is plenty to do outside the hotel..i would stay here again.

we have just returned from a week away at this hotel. we are a couple we found the resort quite quiet and not really much to do around there, we found the staff were quite friendly with us and the food was okay we found the rooms alright just it would of been better if there were tvs and kettles in the room. the only downside really was there wasnt really much entertiment going on at night and the beds there had the metal legs sticking out and i banged my toe and got a bruise and the beds werent really that comfy.we had a room facing the petrol station and the pool was always cold.the beach was only about 5min walk from the hotel so that was good we cant really fault the hotel much but next time i think we want to go to a livler part of spain with a bit more to do but overall we had a good stay.

We stayed there last week the hotel itself is very clean although we heard it was closing at the end of the season for refurbishmenat and being upgraded to a 4star. I read a lot of the reviews before I booked it and was sceptical, the entertainment was very good, the food was repetitive although plentiful, the rooms basic and very clean and yes we did keep bashing our toes on the bed ends that stuck out!! and there were children in the lounge at night although not behaving badly, we had a great time, there are lots of bars and places to eat and a lovely promenade,we would return again as there is still loads to see around the area and 1 week wasn't really long enough the Hotel Haiti is good value and we would visit again.

Nice 3 star hotel, very clean, food could do with a bit more choice but very hot and enjoyable, nice showroom with good seating outside which we could hear the music but much cooler and less smoke, pool good but goes deep very quickly, rooms ideal for two people but there was three of us and it didn,t bother us, the rooms are beeen refurbished during the winter months so should be very nice, overall would we go back and the answer is yes. the resort itself is a nice family resort with a lovely beech, there are not many english bars but one of the best we found was trotters bar right on the sea front, at 1.75 euros a pint and a nice atmosphere we found this good value. if anything i could recommend for the resort it would be a crazy golf because of the amount of familysthat were there. Tips a good supermarket 40 mts from the hotel so use it, make sure you pick up your free green banana card from your rep because you recieve a further 10% off the bill at a number of bars including trotters. Warning some friends we met went on the pirate night and said the show was great but the food for what they paid was very poor

  • Advice: Nice family resort, not for young groups
  • Activities: trotters bar

Don´t come here - poor service and manners

Ok, just don´t come here unless you want, 2 year olds in the bar until 11 pm plus, no sun beds, bad mannered waiting staff in the restaurant (compulsory slamming of pots, snatching of plates and walking in front of you) and then the expectation of a tip - almost begging it´s that bad. Having to baby sit other people's kids that are constantly running up and down the corridors, the bar and laid on the floor, no TVs in the room.
Got a room over looking the petrol station, terrible noise all day and evening , no view and told hotel too full to help.
Check this hotel on the internet it says there are activities for kids - my 14 year old has been bored stiff - only a terrible quiz with no prize - not even an ice cream. Water polo in the afternoon in about a 1/5 of the pool.
Thomson reps not interested unless you want to buy, buy, buy - Thomson bye to you won´t be coming to Haiti again or using Thomson.

The Harveys

The resort of C`an Picafort was absolutely spotless as was the hotel . Although the entrance to the hotel was on a busy road , it was well situated with a large supermarket ( which was used by the natives ) across the road , and the beach was a 5 minute walk away .
Our board was HB and we had no complaints whatsoever , in fact this was the most my 2 kids ( 7 & 12 ) have ever eaten on holiday , with plenty of fruit available at both breakfast and evening meals . We generally bought our lunch at the hotel , and again , no complaints with the quality , service or price . Drink wise it was really expensive ( 2.8 per pint , 3.5 for a Smirnoff & 6.5 for a Johnny Walker Black Label ) , but I had the foresight to bring a cool bag , so we just bought 2 bags of ice every morning and filled it with San Miguel for myself & juice for my wife and kids bought from the supermarket .The folks working on reception were brilliant , I had the misfortune to be stung by a wasp & bang my head in the supermarket car park ( 2 separate incidents ) but the woman in reception patched me up both times . As for the maids , they did a sterling job , every morning our room looking like a bomb had went off in it , and it was spotless again after they did their stuff .The only problem with the rooms , as has been reported by a few folk was stubbing your toes on the bed legs , we got round that by blowing up armbands and putting them round the legs , thus eradicating that problem .
The pool was a nightmare , I found it deceptively deep . On my 1st day , I walked down the steps into the pool not realizing that the last step was big drop , and as I'm a non swimmer , I almost drowned - so be warned .
The only First Choice Rep we had any contact with was ……… who was excellent . My father took unwell on our 3rd day and had to spend 3 days in hospital , but she was always on hand for any help or advice , so cheers .
The entertainment was ok , it was really hit & miss with them . The contortionist show was brilliant as was ……………. , but " Back to the 70`s" was a total waste of time. As for the hotel entertainers , their remit was a quiz in the morning , which we won twice ( The Harvey Wall bangers ) ,and a game of some sort in the afternoon . The evening consisted of a kiddies disco , then bingo , then the acts which were brought in . The downside of the entertainment was that it was all inside , and I would reckon about 70% of folk smoked . Now I found it astonishing that people with kids would sit in such a smoky environment and be smoking over not only their own kids , but other peoples kids as well , babies included . We ultimately sat outside and listened to and watched the entertainment through the window .
All in all , the Harvey's ( Stephen , Jakki , Aimee 12 & Jade 7 ) had a brilliant holiday and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this holiday to anyone . Just watch out for the deep pool , stubbing your toes & ignorant smokers blowing smoke over your kids

Jul 2009, emzren

we visited can picafort, hotel haiti on 15th june, hotel was ok, not grand but very clean, me and my partner and my two children aged 1 and 3, kids seemed to enjoy it pool was great for them, although we did have too watch the little one alot around the poolside! i didnt think much to the entertainers, both seemed very rude and ignorant and not much interest in the children! well especially not of my childrens age! food was ok but pretty much the same foods most nights! Although the children seemed to like it all and find plenty to eat! most nights we would just go out to local bars down the front which was better and the children seemed to enjoy more! there was a wacky warehouse for the children across from anne and neils bar which you could get a alcoholic drink from which was nice to sit there and watch the children enjoy themselves! overall was ok but do not know if would return again! meet some lovely people though which was a bonus
