Never again..

we returned today (5th august) and couldn't wait to get home. This is an honest review of a well travelled family. You are woken up at about 7am by the singing maid (loud and out of tune) who just walks into your room. The sheets and bedding are changed daily but watch your toes on the bedlegs and make sure you come back mid morning to check the maid has shut your door properly!! If you want a sunbed you will need to get up and be downstairs queing by 7.30 otherwise you won't get one. Even though there are signs saying you can't reserve them, people do then bugger off for the day. The reps say towels will be removed but they are not. Breakfast is the same every day - runny scrambled eggs and cardboard sausages, yougurt, same cereal. Lunch and dinner is the also the same, salad and pasta just the meat that changes, we ended up eating out on the 2nd week as we were so fed up with the same old meals. Whilst we were there around 80 people were struck down with a sickness and diariah bug (including my 8 year old) this included babies being admitted to hospital, this also effected some staff. We were not informed when we arrived and was only told by people who had it. The Reps took details and said it was in 5 other hotels, but we spoke to people from other hotels in the area and they were not effected!! This was still happening when we left and still being hushed up. The pool is very nice but very deep and not suitable for children who can not swim too well. I am 5ft 7" and could not touch the bottom anywhere in the pool.
If you are taking children here make sure you take plenty for them to do as the there is nothing for kids to do here especialy teenagers. The reps show their faces once in the morning for a quick game of something and then again at 3pm for water polo. There is a park area in the shade which is ok. In the evening the entertainment is absolutly rubbish, they know you are going to stay there because of the free booze, but to be honest there are some great little bars (child friendly) just down the road. Also in the evening the children seem to be left to their own devices and are quite often bored so they fight and argue with each other and the parents really can't be bothered with them. Beware of the footballs flying into your lap if you do manage to get a seat on the terrace! even though there is a small football pitch at the rear of the hotel.
The lifts are often broken and are very small so if you have a pushchair you will struggle and have a long wait. This is the worst all inclusive hotel I have ever stayed in, the staff are not that friendly and shuffle you along at the bar with a "yes next" the restaurant staff push past you. If you are a smoker you will be pleased to know that you can smoke in the reception area and most of the bar area aswel. Having said all that the hotel is generally clean and in a quiet area but it has a long way to go to come up to standard with other hotels which are all inclusive.

Hotel Haiti- family hotel

I have recently returned from a 10 day all inclusive stay in the Hotel Haiti at the end of July. The weather was fantastic at this time of year- a lot hotter than expected. On the whole the majority of staff are friendly although a couple of the barmen were very rude at times towards hotel guests. Food is of a good quality with an excellent choice of desserts, however not much for vegetairians so bear this in mind if planning to stay here. The facilities available were excellent with activities for all ages including bingo, bowling, rifle shooting and water polo and there was a large quantity of sunbeds avialable so there were some still available well into the afternoo- however not sure whether this was just due to the time of year. We felt that the entertainment team could be improved as they would often segregate themselves off to only the guests they wanted to talk to and were not inclusive of all the hotel guests. We had two double rooms which were basic but in a good condition and cleaned daily. The lifts could be extremely slow and often break down so I would advise using the stairs where possible. The resort of Ca'n Picafort is relatively quiet so I would say more suitable for those looking for a calm relaxed holiday and families rather than young people. On the whole a good relaxing holiday.

I have recently got back from a 11 night stay in Hotel Haiti this July.
Havinging mixed feelings before I wet I was a little dubious about what to expect.
There isn't much to fault with this hotel really.
It is very good value for a 3*
Food was very good, plenty of choice and always hot.
All staff were kind and efficient.
Hotel clean, entertainment not too bad (not brilliant either).
Childrens entertainment ok, my son wasn't bothered about joining in but plenty of other kids were.
No fighting for sunbeds on out 1st week as kids hadn't broken up yet, different story on the second week though.
No one objects to putting towels out early if you want to secure a sunbed though.
Did a couple of trips:
Caves of Drach - Rubbish !!
Pirates - Excellent - must see.
I would go back to this resort and hotel again.

  • Advice: Brilliant holiday, would go again

not so great..

I am 16 years old, so no I have not had many holidays and I do not pay for them myself.
But I stayed at Hotel Haiti for a week with my Mum, Dad and little brother of 11.
Firstly, you would probably come on holiday for a rest, to relax, to lie in.. But you can't lie in bed for the morning because at the crack of dawn you have to wake up to reserve a sun bed. By about half past eight in the morning, they're all gone (thats why I said you HAVE to wake up).
If you don't manage to get a sunbed you get the option of sitting in chairs on a tile-based decking for the day. These chairs are wicker, plastic, very hard and definitely NOT comfortable.
But then we see a sign by the pool saying 'Due to less sunbeds than people, if a towel is left on a sunbed for longer than 30 minutes, one of our staff will move it and give it in to reception.' Thats funny, in Majorca, does the whole day mean half and hour? I never saw ONE towel moved even if someone wasn't on it for hours. And the Thompson rep actually told new people that came in that they moved them! THEY DIDN'T!
Okay, so all your sunbeds are gone, try the 10 minute walk to the beach? Okay, its more like 20 when you're strolling, but when you get there, you have to pay for sunbeds and if you don't get sunbeds, the beach is SO busy that I'd be surprised if you even found a spot to lay your towel anyways.
The pool is freezing cold anyway, you were either too hot or too cold.
I've just finished my GCSE's so I'm very familiar with my schools cantine, good job really because it means I could relate to the food service that was at this place. Serve yourself? Oh I see, like a buffet! Varied foods everyday? Not for breakfast. Salads were always similar. Being there for a week and I saw only two kinds of soups. There was always some form of an english meal cooked in a different (usually worse) way. Chips and pizza! So probably good for little kids? But I can't say that I was impressed... at all.
Desert-wise was quite interesting, because if you didn't have any of the fruit salad one day, you could probably have a bit of it jammed into the cake the next! Good recycling guys!
The waiting staff had the cheek to ask for tips even though the only thing they do is run over your feet with a cart of plates and take your plate from under your nose quicker than they rushed past you in the first place!
Now, about the rooms, the first thing I noticed was the threadbare carpets, you could probably ignore that to be honest, so we did. And then our beds we found, were camper beds! Very uncomfortable, and their idea of a double bed was two beds pushed together!? Okay..
The maid came in everyday and changed our sheets and brought us new towels, that was good! The bathroom facilities were pretty good too! Hot showers and that.
When we recieved our key cards, they were in a little wallet thing.. in this is says 'We ask all our hotel residents to keep quiet at night to ensure comfort of others', and I mention this because at about half past midnight, not only do we hear a lot of noise coming from the stairs, BUT it was the entertainment reps of the hotel!
We did have a good day when we went to Rancho Grande, a Texas-based ranch where you get a BBQ buffet and ride horses around, but we had to pay extra (A LOT EXTRA) for that.
And we also got to go to the water park, Western Park and Marine Land. These too were both very good! But for a lot of extra money...
Now, our last day was interesting. I am not exaggerating any of this. As there is little to do for my age group, I was sat around with my parents. Our flight was at 4am, we were getting picked up at 00:45am and we had to check out of our hotel at Midday the day before. Okay, thats fair enough. There was a courtesy room for half an hour in case we wanted to get changed or showered (but I don't know anyone that can be ready within half an hour). We actually were sat around the whole evening having to put up with the likes of the cheesy entertainment, a holiday rep with an average singing voice who was lairy anyway! and also the fact that the barstaff were actually telling us that we couldn't sit in certain places because they had to clean! We were moved TWICE. We paid good money to stay at your hotel, and its midnight and we want to sit down and wait for our coach to come so we can get out of this average place, and the mostly-spanish-speaking barstaff and moving us from where we're sitting! So in the end, we went and sat outside for about 45 minutes waiting for this coach. We had had enough.
I don't recommend this hotel. At all. Neither do my parents.

Just back from a week all inclusive staying in Haiti. Hotel is a bit tired looking, room could do with bit of an upgrading, bathrooms bit shabby, but always lots of hot water and clean towels. Excellent food every day and lots of ice cream and ice lollies. Brilliant entertainment by Josh and Jade. Only gripe is sunbeds are all "towelled" by 8am so if your not quick you don't get one. Overall had a great holiday and would definately go back again.

I got back from the Mallorca two days ago. Me & my family stayed at Hotel Haiti and we all enjoyed it very much. The whole place was clean, the service was great and the food was delicious. 3 times a day there was a hot buffet on offer (breakfast, lunch & dinner)along with afternoon & evening snacks. Breakfast was the same everyday but there was still a variety and for lunch and dinner there was a selection of different meats, salads and there was always pizza & chips on offer if nothing took your fancy. Along with a selection of puddings.
Another thing is there is a big freezer full of ice-creams & you can help yourself anytime.
The staff were great and done their best to ensure we were ok. The bar staff were always on hand for a drink & the maid would come in everyday to make up the beds & give you fresh towels etc.
The entertainment reps were fantastic, Josh & Jade were always busy making sure the guests were entertained with activities running throughout the day & shows in the nighttime & Josh had us in stitches, even during the kids disco! Although, the cabaret wasn't always that good, but if your having a good time, it's something that doesn't seem to bother you.
The only small thing we had a problem with was the sunbeds... There are signs everywhere stating that if you reserve sunbeds for more than 30 minutes, your towels will be removed by the staff. But were they... Nope! People would get up really early and place their towels on sunbeds (even for their kids who weren't in the slightest bit interested in using the bed) then go out for the day (say until about 4pm) leaving no sunbeds for the people who actually wanted to use them during the day, and the staff did nothing about it. Although we did just put our towels down on te grass and it was quite comfortable there, but that's not the point.
Overall we loved staying at Hotel Haiti and would definatley go back there.

We went along to hotel hiati in the 1st 10 days of may, apart from the weather, which was wick, we had an amazing stay. Food was gr8, hotel clean and tidy, all inclusive stay was right up there with the best. We feel in love with josh, who always went out there to help us and make us feel special. Only downside was the seating space in the evening for the entertainment, if u wernt there early, you didnt get a seat. But a gr8 holiday had by all.x

what can i say a brilliant holiday clean with brilliant food normally you get fed up after 2 weeks but not here. entertainment brilliant josh is really good at his job brings a smile to your face especially when he takes you to the water park full of fun. Didnt think the girl entertainer was that good her heart doesnt seem to be in it like josh s. I had read reviews with mixed messages but i cant fault the hotel at all the bar staff were really freindly. If i had to mention one thing was the smoking but buy the 2nd week they stopped them smoking in the front of the lounge which was really good. I like to go to different places each year but i think i will find it hard to find better .My father in law and mother in law came with us they had been to all these tompsons golds but they said this is up there with them.Brilliant holiday !!!!!

The staff in the restaraunt were very helpful and always had a smile for the children. The food was always hot, ribs were the favourite. The hotel entertainers were a great, get to know Josh he's a great laugh and join in the activties its all part of the fun. I am a 19 year old girl and went for the 2nd time to the Haiti on June 10-16th 2010. I went with my mother, sister who is 22 and my brother who is nearly 3. We went all-inclusive. The hotel is excellent. First of all it is very clean and the housekeeping staff do an excellent job everyday. The hotel is lively as it is popular with families with children. Their is a disco for the kids every night and the entertainment was good. My brother enjoyed the disco and the park the hotel has. The Food was brilliant. For breakfast there was a choice of ham, cheeses, fruit, cereals and a full English breakfast which was delicious. You could help yourself to fruit juices or hot drinks. Lunch and dinner were also delicious there was more than enough choice, hot food and salads. The desserts were delicious the best desserts I have ever had. The restaurant staff were all friendly and extremely hard working despite the busyness of the restaurant they never stopped. The pool was nice and there could be a shortage of sun loungers but there was never a time we didn't eventually get one. The reception staff were very friendly and always happy to help, I lost my key to my room but they were happy to give me another one with no charge which was very kind of them. On a night time, it can be hard to get a seat to watch the entertainment as this hotel is a very popular one so there are lots of people. However, the bar is brilliant. The bar staff are very hard working and very friendly, especially David and Fernando they are wonderful!! C'an Picafort itself is very nice and the beach is beautiful. There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the beach but we did not visit them much as we were all inclusive. The Oasis bar was very good and we watched a Michael Jackson tribute that was great. Charley's and Skau are also good places to go to for young people and are open till early hours of the morning. All in all, the hotel is clean and welcoming, with great food and friendly staff. I was very sad to go as I was last year and will definitely go again. It is the best hotel I have ever been to.

  • Advice: A popular friendly hotel, great for families and young adults.
