Submitted By: Mrs DM FarrugiaThe weather wasn't very good while we were there, but the reps still put on activities in the bar area to keep the children entertained. My 5 year old daughter loved the nightly kids disco and games. The adult entertainment wasn't very good; it ranged from a very poor juggler to a terrible Rod Stuart. The food was fantastic. Very good variety, something for everyone. My daughter found something she enjoyed every night and I found the dessert table irresistible. Breakfast also included drinks, everything from tea, coffee, water, orange and hot chocolate.
Can Picafort is a lovely resort. Plenty of shops close by and a wonderful beach. The sea is very shallow so kids can play safely. We ate lunch every day at ‘Trotter’s’ this is on the beach front and food is lovely and owners make you feel very welcome offering free shots after your meal and giving the kids little gifts.
If you are going to book any trips don’t book through the reps it’s a rip off. We went to Marineland for the day and booked through hotel reception rather than the reps and saved £20.
Overall a good holiday despite the weather but I would return.

Submitted By: Miss R WhortonEntertainment was good and varied from Rock band tributes to a Comedy Magic show and karaoke but as the shops and beach were so near we chose to have a walk most evenings.
I would return here as I enjoyed the Hotel and resort it was lovely.

Submitted By: Mrs J HansonFood was british type of food, but filling and plenty to choose from.
The evening entertainment consisted of a mini disco - which the kids loved, bingo (again the kids loved) and then an act or karoke. We had no problem of noise in our room from the entertainment - just a cockeral at 5.30 am in the morning ocassionally waking us up.
All the hotel staff were excellent, very friendly, doted on the children, not a bad word at all!

Submitted By: Other Dan1. Swimnmming Pool Rating 9/10- The swimmming pool was great and it was very big a spacious. But beware towards the middle it can get very deep. There were lots of floats and toys left by previous people at the hotel and the hotel reps themselves. Overall it was great but the only bad thing about the pool was it had no slide.
2. Rooms 9/10- The rooms were very simple but they were cleaned every other day they were well looked after and the beds were nice and comftable. i would say that most rooms have a decent view from the balcony. Also we had a nice big bath with a shower. Ps. DO NOT drink the tap water it taste's a bit wierd becuase there water isnt filtered as well as ours be to be fair the reps do tell you that when you arrive. And if you look in your fridge you will have a big 4 litre container which contains cold fresh drinking water and can be filled up in the hotel. We also had a gas cooker and a microwave.
3. Distances- Beech- 5 minutes
Pubs bars ect.- 5 minutes
Western water park- Hour and a Half (On coach provided by reps)
Tram Station- (10 mins)
Fair Grounds ect.- 25 mins walking, Tram 10-15 mins depending on stops.
Shops- 2 mins (There almost everywhere)
4. Western Water Park 9/10- By far one of the greatest water parks i have ever been to.
( a 9 becuase of the time it takes to get there)
Overall Holiday- 10/10

Submitted By: Mr C MarshThe staff were great especially if you have kids. i went mith my girlfriend and her son who was 8 years old at the time and he really enjoyed the night time entertainment then we enjoyed the entertainment for adults after.

Submitted By: Mrs B & R Turner-StuartPool: Finding a sunbed was impossible. We ended up on the grass almost every day. No lifeguard on duty and so we felt we had to keep an eye on the kids the whole time. There was also a pool at the other side of the hotel which we were told we were not allowed to use.
Staff: We found them rude and unhelpful. Not once did we see any of the receptionist staff with a smile on their face.
Entertainment: Although we found the evening entertainment quite poor, the kids did enjoy the kids club.
Thomson Reps: We had luggage lost and they were most unhelpful. We were very dissapointed with the service from the reps. One little blonde rep seemed to be trying her best to help, but the others were obnoxious and a disgrace to the company.
Resort: This was our third trip to Can Picafort and we can't say enough about the place. The beaches are beautiful (be sure to look out for the sand sculptures), the pubs and restaurants offer fantastic choice, and the shopping is great for such a small resort. Weather has always been gorgeous. Definately recommend it to anyone. Just don't book with Thomson or stay in the Haiti.

Submitted By: Miss R. EddyI came to this, how I shall put it, dump with my friend and her mummy. We were all appalled when we arrived there at 4am and found out they had lost all our information and we didn’t have a room for about an hour.
We then got woken up at about 7ish/8ish to cleaners singing loudly in the corridors while prancing backwards and forwards up and down the corridor.
The view we had was the kitchen roof, we could not see a thing.
The pool was tiny and very cold. I nearly drowned because some parts of the pool are very deceiving and are really deep.
The food we had to force down was horrible. Me and my friend ended up eating a burger king morning, noon and night for the whole week.
The staff working on reception are very stuck up, whereas Nick and his sidekick are brilliant they made us feel welcome.
The topless sunbathing going on around that pool was disgraceful, it should not be allowed, especially when they are about 50. It is not a nudist beach, it is meant to be a family resort with little kids playing near, while there were naked women lounging around.
The play park, or should I call it two swings, and god knows what the other thing was, was just pathetic. There were bits of broken glass in it. Isn’t it meant for kids?
It was definitely the holiday from hell, I will not be returning, EVER.

Submitted By: Mr A PotterWe arrived around at 2am on Monday morning and it seemed extremely quiet. The night clerk was helpful and polite. After check in we went to our rooms feeling relatively relieved that it was not as bad as we had expected.
However, the next morning and every morning after we were woken at 7am by the sound of someone re-arranging furniture loudly for about an hour. Then the delivery trucks arrive so it's pretty much get up then.
Breakfast is good with plenty of choice and it is regularly replenished up until about 8-45.
The pool was nice, if a little cold, be careful though the big area is deceptively deep in places. There is a paddling area for young children which is good. It's quite busy up until mid afternoon but then it's easy to find sun loungers. Plenty of inflatable toys left by previous holiday makers to use.
Evening Meals started good but as the week progressed became a little repetitive. The staff are very friendly and dote over the children.
During the evening/night there is usually entertainment in the bar area. A brilliant kid’s disco where the hosts work extremely hard and the kids love it. Then after there are usually tribute acts and/or disco. This can go on quite late and if your room is above this (as ours was, even on the second floor) it gets quite loud so forget about an early night. Also if you're a non smoker it can get quite smoky in the bar as the smoking in public places laws do not apply over there and people seem to make up for it.
Don't book anything through the reps. go directly to source or find the shops in town selling them. Invariable you can get the same deals for about a third of the price. Don't forget to haggle. Usually you can get young children free. We save about three hundred Euros over the week by doing this.
It's probably best to just use the hotel as a base and travel around more then it doesn't seem that bad. C'an Picafort is a nice town with a good beach although a bit crowded.
Alcudia has excellent beaches and is only a short bus ride away and costs just over 1 Euro each way or try visiting Porto Pollensa which is very pretty and also has a nice beach which is very sheltered and great for little ones as it's very shallow and clean.
The buses are an excellent way to get around and are cheap but can be a little crowded. It's best to catch them down in the town instead of outside the hotel before the fill up from all the other hotels.
On the whole it was a good holiday especially if you are on a tight budget. Don’t expect too much and you'll come away happy. C'an Picafort is a nice town with plenty of restaurants and bars all catering for different tastes and nationalities unless you want to play it safe where there are the usual British bars and a burger king.
Just watch out for the Beds. The legs stick out and they bleeping hurt when you stub your toes on them for the 27th time!!

Submitted By: Mr D ColcloughVery little chance of getting a sun-bed next to a nice pool area, and the promise made by the reps of removing all lonely towels after 30 minutes was never carried out.
Evening entertainment was very good, kids and adults seem to enjoy it, watch out for the Jackson Five tribute band, a great night.
Breakfast and evening meals were fine, price of beer was reasonable and all hotel staff very friendly.
The resort area is fine with a wonderful child friendly beach as its main point. A very good public bus service runs from outside the hotel, across the road from the hotel complex there is a large supermarket.
Our biggest problem on this holiday was with the Thomson Reps, extremely unhelpful and rude, and in our moment of need when having no belongings due to Thomson’s fly losing our suitcase between Manchester and Palma, we had to rely on the generosity of many guests (yet again thank you) rather than the help and support of the Thomson reps.
The good news was our suitcase arrived on our wedding anniversary which is also one day before our daughters 1st birthday. The bad news was it arrived three days before heading home.

Submitted By: Mrs M RYDERThey have a buffet just for the kids, but they can also help themselves to the big one. We watched the staff and if they thought that the food had been sat out too long (for example the eggs in a morning) it went in the bin and fresh food replaced it so that gave us confidence in the quality of cooking etc. The snacks are quite expensive but no more than any other hotel.
The beach is just down the road so you don't have far to walk with all the kids stuff. The lifts are small but there isn't too much of a wait around for it as it's a small hotel anyway. The Thomson reps where rubbish when we were there but obviously they change each year anyway. They just wanted to sell tickets to the shows but be warned they are expensive so if you are planning on going on some take more money with you!!! I didn't see the reps for the kids apart from at the kids disco on an evening but they might be a bit better now.
The only problem we had with this hotel was like most hotels you have to get there early for a seat and people just let their kids run riot while they wait, they climb and run over your seats, climb on the stage even when the shows are setting their equipment up etc and its really hard because your kids want to join in too because obviously all the others are. We came back to the hotel and the lounge was full as everyone was waiting for the disco to start, the only seat we could get was at the bar and the kids asked if they could join all the others waiting for the disco so we said yes and within 2 minutes all we could hear was screaming as our 18 month had climbed on the stage to join all the big boys, (we couldn't see the stage from where we were sitting because if we had known they were all on the stage we wouldn't have let them go) and fallen off and head-butted the floor and all the people near the stage just sat there and not one person tried to help him up, but luckily we recognised the cry and went to him and he had biggest bruise and lump you have ever seen. We tried to complain to the reps several times about people letting their kids run riot but they didn't really care.
But anyway they have great shows like Elvis, Westlife etc and its just a lovely, clean, value for money, family friendly hotel and we would go back again its just a few people that you always find somewhere who don't control their kids.

Submitted By: Miss K WhiteThe hotel itself is very clean, the cleaners do an amazing job. The only downside to the rooms in my opinion was the fact that there were no facilities for making a cup of tea or coffee within the rooms. No radio or television and no hairdryer, which on other half board holidays we have taken there has been. Also its true about the end of the beds. They stick out further than the mattress and there were lots of stubbing toe incidents!!
The pool was very clean and the area around the pool was kept clean all the time. I would imagine though, during peak season, that it would be hard to get a sunbed unless you were out early to get one. Because there never seemed to be enough to go around. Must say I don't agree with a lot of reviews about the entertainment, I felt it was very poor during the day, apart from a 30 minute kids club that seemed to be it. And I feel maybe a pool table or something would go down a storm, for kids to play on.
If you miss England while out there, just turn right out of the hotel then right again and follow the road down to the bottom near the seafront....there are 4 really great british pubs!! Two of which offer X-box or PS2 for kids to play on! The food in the Sunburnt Arms and the Williams are out of this world, definitely worth a try. If you go on further down to the beach you will find tons of cafes etc. And the beach itself is great, very clean and its costs 7 euros for 2 sunbeds and a umbrella.
If you get chance grab yourself a snorkel set because you can see to the bottom of the sea and there's some great fish to see! Also must mention THE PIRATES ADVENTURE.....If you get a chance to see this show then I would give it a 10/10. It was truly worth the money and would watch it again and again. The kids loved it and were hooked on it from beginning to end......its a definite must see.

Submitted By: Mrs C StanleyOnly down side was my husband took ill, which put a dampner on the holiday, but hotel were very helpful in getting a doctor.
Don't understand why they have 2 pools that they don't use, when the main 1 was out of action for a day and also the lifts are prone to break down, didn't affect us as we were on 1st floor, but can imagine people on the 5th floor weren't best pleased.
Can Picafort is a lovely resort beach is gorgeous, trotters on the beach is a good bar to go get a drink to cool off, also on way back up to hotel from beach there are 4 English pubs, which have toys for little ones to play with and play stations and x boxes for older kids to keep them entertained!

The only negative to the holiday was the weather, which was unpredictable to say the least - we had full blown lightning storms one day, and rain on 3 or 4 days. According to the locals however, this was really unusual!
We visited 'Marineworld' one day, a sealife animal park with dolphin and sea lion shows. This was a really nice park, but there was not enough there to warrant a full day's activity, so we recommend doing a half-day excursion. AquaLand in Magaluf is well worth a visit if you are a waterpark fan! Because we were early in the season (mid June), there were no queues at all the day we went and we were able to go on all the rides a few times!
We would definitely recommend this holiday!
