On the 25 June 2010 we left for a all inclusive 14 day holiday to a 4 star hotel in crete. We arrived at the cretan Village Aparthotel at 9am on the 26 June.At 12 noon on the 29th June ,3 days later I was forced to move my family to an other hotel for their own safety. The hotel was a danger to my 5yr old grand child ,my partner and my self..The hotel was placed on a hill so steep that the taxi drivers refused to go up it ,stating that their vehicles would be damaged .Out side my hotel room was a road so rugged that all 3 of us tripped and stubbed toes and feet.Right out side my hotel door was a 2 feet wall with a 200 feet straight drop onto rocks below. The balcony had a 2 foot fence with a 15 feet drop. The walk to my hotel room was so severe that all 3 of us had great difficulty getting to it.My self and my partner both injured our ankles and feet. The final straw was when my 5yr old grand daughter trip for the tenth time. The pool was 2 meters deep square with no shallow end.If in Britain, this hotel would be closed by health and safety. We were forced to make alternative arrangement for the fear of a fatality. the hotel is unsuitable for families. The rep and staff also reported that the hotel was 3 star .The all inclusive was at most full board with alcohol drinks .No snacks ,bottled water or coffee provided between meals. The food was in most part disgusting. There was no entertainment at all provided by the hotel. The location of the hotel was isolated .In summery the hotel was no better than a hostel.I am out of pocket to the sum of 1200 euros. This was the cost of an alternative hotel that I was foced to make. This hotel will seriously injure or kill someone in the future. Also the hotel refuse to give any money back when booking into an alternative hotel.

We have travelled around Greece for many years and this wonderful place is the closest to authentic traditional Greece you can get!
The food is totally fresh and authentic.( thank you Vangelis )The rooms are all traditionaly individual and cleaned every other day.
The service from Katerina,Christina and the fun loving and articulate Serb, Dragon is excellent.
Dont come here if you want international food with animation. This place is like staying in your own private Greek village and we loved it! Efcharisto poli Maria!!

Where do i start this place should not be a 4 star it should be a 1 star the location the food and the staff were horrible please please i would not reccomend anyone staying at this place and i dont know how you can call it all inclusive, you was only allowed 3 different alcoholic drinks a day and the food you had was cold, you was only allowed coffee and tea for breakfast and served for 1 one hour a day or it was 3 euros any other time. The only thing that made this holiday half decent was that we had a laugh with the other guests on the hotels behalf.

We booked our holiday through the teletext firm of 'Travel Value'. We booke a similar AI through them last year in Alcudia and were quite satisfied. Prior to booking, the agent invited me to look at the web brochure of the Cretan Village and unfortunately I was actually looking at another hotel of the ame name that wa in an entirely different location on the island. That one promised ; 4 pools, air con, laundry, entertainment etc. The one that we were booked in on was the exact opposite, miles from the nearest town, 8euros in a taxi one way, very restrictive drinks (only beer and wine), poor food, no entertainment, no coffee or tea other than 'continental' breakfast time and between 17.30-18.30 plus 8 euros per day for air con!
All inclusive was an absolute joke. Many guests were "conned" the same as we were into thinking that the Cretan Village Apartments was the same as the Cretan Village Hotel and they seem to be getting away with it year after year. This was total misrepresentation and something must be done to make the Cretan Village Apartment Hotel in Amadoura change their name forthwith. They are leeches on the back of the other hotel!!!

The Cretan Village is sold as 4 star but I wouldn't even give the place one. Left wandering around at 4 in the morning with no one to show us to our rooms, no water, we thought we had been dropped at the wrong place till we found a piece of paper on a glass door saying your room is XX see you in the morning. Our room wasn't even basic! hand held shower in a tiny rusty bath tub. Dirty rooms and upholstery. We had black bugs in our cloths cupboard. Smelly bed cover. Very limited meals with meat dishes being served up for next days meals. Bread and Jam for breakfast. Filthy pool area and very grubby sunbed covers. Poolside loos with open baskets of used loo paper in 90+ heat. Blue paint coming off the pool walls that took days to get off our feet. Owner would not refund any money and rep ( owners niece we believe) wanted £400 to move us. So many horror stories from other shocked guests. We paid the £400 to get out.
I could fill several pages with my account of my stay and so could many others. My advise is stay away, even if they want you to go for free "Stay Away"

This place was sold to us as a 4* All Inclusive hotel - suitable for children. It is none of these things.
We arrived at 7am to be "greeted" by a note stuck to the door saying that our room was up the hill on the right. The reception was locked and bolted, with no member of staff around.
The "24 hour" reception is just a lie - it doesn't exist.
Also on their website there is a claim of a pool-bar, this does not exist.
They claim that breakfast is from 7.30 this is not true, they start between 8.30-9.
You have to climb an INCREDIBLY STEEP hill to get to the place. You have to carry suitcases to your room - which is even steeper and higher climb. Put it this way there are cars parked half way up the hill - they have to reverse all the way to the bottom to get enough momentum to make it to the top.
The breakfast is exactly this: Dry french toast (the kind that you can buy in a supermarket - next to things like Riveta and Crisp Rolls) and Jam. No Cereal, No bacon/eggs, No toast. Nothing else.
There are hardly any staff here. You have to clear your table, and scrape your plates after each meal into a bucket in the dining area.
There are about 5-6+ cats roaming freely around the food/dining area. I saw one spraying up against one of the tables.
We didn't even unpack, and had to pay £520+ to move to what is actually a 4* AI hotel. Cretan Village refused to give a refund.
When you complain you are met with an angry, abusive response - and are basically shot down.
We had a buggy which we could not push even half way up the hill.
We were told that we didn't pay for the baby's place so we should go to the local shop to get her food.
If you want tea or coffee outside of the hours they want you to have it it's over 1euro. An Egg for breakfast is 1euro, to have a cot in your room is 8euros.
The place is a joke...No way is it 4 star. Barely 1 or 2. All Inclusive it is not.
We left with 8 others. And there were plenty more that wanted to escape but were simply putting-up with it. We paid over £700 for our holiday here. The owner's must be rubbing their hands together as I don't believe we are the first (or last) to complain and leave after just one night.
There is nothing around for miles. We got a cab to the nearest Taverna so that our baby could eat too and it cost 8euros just to get there - utter rip-off.
The pool is unclean and surrounded by a slimy slippery film.
The staff are aggressive and rude. The manager is arrogant and does not believe she is doing anything wrong!! When my wife went to ask for something for our baby to eat she was grabbed and pulled and told to leave and that we were not welcome at the hotel!!
It was hell.

Thomas Cook should be ashamed of the write up they give this Hotel. The staff are rude, we were greeted by a receptionist with a cigaret in her mouth, and they couldnt care less. It was raining when we arrived there was no offer to show us where our room was, numbers of rooms we missing making location difficult and the rooms were up a steep hill with steep, narrow, slippery steps. No offer of help with luggae either. When we complained of insufficient light in the rooms and bathroom, the bathroom had just one light over the mirror that was at best an 18 watt candle bulb, one couldnt see to comb your hair; and of having no hot water on arrival at 2.30pm and still no hot water at 7pm we were told "This is a 4 star hotel youve got a 4star room and a 4 star view, theres no sun so theres no hotwater [apprently solar water heating only here!] if you dont like it you can go and live somewhere else." So we did I moved my family out! The place is discusting more like a hippy commune than a hotel; dirty, unkempt and definately NOT 4 star! PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY GOING THERE!
