Lovely venue for relaxing in a truly unknown part of Tuscany - the best part we've seen so far. My partner and I travel a lot in Tuscany and this part of the region is by far the nicest. Radicondoli and its municipality are suspended in time, life is wonderfully peaceful. The views are enchanted and people are very friendly.
The house itself is comfortable, very well though of, well displayed, furnished and equipped. It is hidden in the woods of a natural park (Carline), reached through 3 kms of white road. You do have a very good, unlikely restaurant in walking distance. A lady runs it and makes ancient dishes with game and wild berries.
The house has a swimming pool, smallish but very very pleasant and the kids can run around without worrying parents to stress!!
The only drawback may also be the nicest thing about it... mobile phone reception is next to nothing! So if you are looking for a place to work and keep in touch with the world... this is not ideal. For everything else it is great.
However, Radicodnoli offers 2 wi fi spots for free in the village, you can take your laptop along and catch up with the world sitting on a most panoramic terrace of the local Pizzeria, La Pergola.
We also enjoyed having a fab meal cooked for us at the house with a local cook Luana Vagheggini. This turned out to be wonderful.
We also took a day tour of the local artesans' workshops like cheese making at Az. Agricola Paugnano, candle making in the village of Radicondoli, wool waving and more.
We visited San Galgano, Casole d'Elsa, Siena, Monteriggioni and one day at the beach in Castiglione della Pescaia, near Grosseto.
It is a very rural area, but not backwards at all. The village is very lively.
I look forward to going back...
