Cheep and cheerfull, the staff were very good and friendly, very helpful. Food for breakfast was enough to keep you full all day. Short walk to the beach lots to do when you get there.

the Brooklands is in a prime location and although the decor is dated it is more than made up by the friendly staff. Russell was particularly helpful. rooms were clean and buffet meals very good and ample. prices very reasonable and we will definately go back.
Typical 70's hotel.

When we arrived at the hotel, the reception was clean and basic, the staff were very friendly and check in was very speedy, we were given room no 33 which was on the 2nd floor right next to the lift, but we couldnt hear any noise at all which was good! The rooms are something similar to faulty towers, with an olive green bathsuite and an orange lampshade and mismatched wall paper, the carpet must not have been changed for at least 40 years!! The buffet breakfast was very nice and the service was great, overall for £58 per room per night you got what you paid for and it was very clean with nice clean towels, lovely location and I would stop her again for the price.

We only stayed for 1 night but the staff were very friendly and happy to help. Very quiet at night with only a few creaking stairways. The location was fantastic about 5/10 minute walk to the town centre., if you go to eat in the town I would recommend Gianni's, great place for food with decent prices - You may need to book if you go on a weekend though, but they managed to squeeze us on a Friday. If you go in a car, you can only park for free from 5:30pm until 9am the next morning, after that you will need to go stick some money in the metre. The breakfast buffett was lovely, lots of choice from full english, fruit, ceral etc. We didnt have any dinner so I am unable to rate this but it smelt lovely. The only negative thing about the hotel was it could do with a renovation. The rooms and bar area looked like it was stuck in the, I said 80's, but partner reckons 70's. I wouldnt reccomend this hotel for young singles, but I would recommend for couples, elderly people, and adults with children. Great stay at a great price, can't complain!

Me and a couple of mates stayed when we went to the Olivers mount racing event. Very helpful staff, very polite and where all English which was a nice change to most hotels in this country. Very clean rooms , nice breakfast. Good games room and bar. We are going again in September.

Me and my 2 daughters stayed there with a friend and her 2 young children. Although the hotel is in need of updating, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was excellent (my children are very fussy eaters), the entertainment was very amusing at times. Even though we were the only group which contained people under the age of 50 I found that the hotel was very family orientated. It seems that the hotel has just received 3 new managers, Steve, Wayne and Paul. After talking to other guests, who have stayed at the hotel several times, it seems that the hotel has improved dramatically over the last couple of months. The rooms were clean, though need refurbishment, food great, atmosphere great, over all a very warm welcoming hotel. This was our first stay at the Brooklands and we would definately stay there again and recommend it to our friends.

Hi its Steve one of the coach drivers, it is so nice to get comments like these now that thinsg are improving at the hotel since the new management took over - I have printed them out and am going to hand them to the manager in the morning as kind words such as these make all our effort worthwhile.
We are all very glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again in the future.

what a difference!

We have been coming to this hotel for the past couple of years and have always been satisfied with the facilities. The lift is a godsend. But things have changed, for the better, the food has improved (new chef), and the over all atmosphere has completely turned around. There is a new manager, Steven, who is very friendly and polite. The staff are happier, the new chef, Wayne I think his name is, is a character. He is very professional and witty. Having us old dears in stitches. We would recommend anyone to visit this hotel, and if they have been in the past to revisit as well, just to see how dramatically it has improved. Well done all.

imagine fawlty towers crossed with the league of gentleman! a hotel for the brave!!! would have been a super hotel in its day, good location at top of lift, staff friendly and polite, breakfast a buffet and reminded me of that film...Grease. you could have made shoes out of the bacon and i had hairs on my tomatoes. despite that not a bad hotel all in all, bath was an experience i would like to forget!

When my friend and i first found out we were staying in a 2* hotel in Scarborough, we quite naturally thought it would be a slightly run down, seventies-esque establishment with squeeky floor boards, no hot water and an evening meal at half past five. We were in fact not dissapointed. Our room, although in need of some refurbishment, had a real retro feel to it, ( although the bath mat could have done with being a bit less retro) and was really well equipped with chairs. In fact there were more chairs in the room than there were hangers in the wardrobe. The whole hotel, we were pleased to find, as well as having a fantastic lift which went to all floors was also more than adequately furnished with chairs. Although our twin room did not have a shower, (apparently these have to be requested in advance) we were initially supprised to discover that our room did have two sinks, until a member of staff pointed out that one of the sinks was in fact the bath. The hotel also has evening entertainment, which was a real highlight. On one of the evenings that we were there, we were treated to bingo, a singer, a quiz and a kareoke (which was supported by a couple of professional backing dancers.) The host for the evening (i think his name was 'puff' ) was also excellent. Overall my friend and i had a great stay in Scarborough. And i would recommend the hotel to anyone who like my-self and my friends find almost anything funny.
