Have recently returned from a weeks holiday at the Blue Palace Bay Hotel. Had a fabulous week, and can not fault the hotel at all. Superb rooms, aircondition was included in the bed and breakfast price, which was totally necessary as Santorini was in the middle of heat wave! Instead of having temperatures in the mid 20s, they were constantly in the high 30s. The beach is right outside the hotel. Very comfortable sunbeds and more than enough to go around and as you are a guest of the hotel, they are free. The beach is open to the public but that did not cause any problems as Yannis was more than happy to get extra sunbeds should they be needed! The beach has black volcanic sand which can get very hot in the sun, so taking beach footwear is needed! Perissa and Perivolas are amazingly clean as is the beach. The hotel does have a beach/pool bar serving drinks and food which was typical for most places in Greece. Although the cocktails are a bit on the weak side. If looking for somewhere to eat at night, can thoroughly recommend Gods Kitchen a locally run taverna and Charlinas. The only complaint I have is the mossies! Make sure you take your mossie repellant! Other than that fabulous holiday and the views are sensational. Ensure you visit Oia, Fira, Mesagonia and Pygros. And for something a little different try walking the Volcanoe - not as daunting as it seems and the views are well worth it!
