I echo all the comments submitteed by Noggle, Oh my god, what is arturro talking about !!! We have been going to Arillas for the past 10 years, as we have friends there, but this was the first time we stayed at the villa as the whole family came with us this time, and it certainly won't be the last time we stay at the villa, I can assure you. The villa is absolutely fabulous. Upon our arrival we were met by the Maxine, the Villa Manager, who showed us around and offered any help we needed during our stay at the Villa. And I am sure if the person who described the villa as "disappointing" had mentioned the concerns to Maxine, she would have sorted them out in a flash. The villa was very clean, and certainly not sub-standard. The large house that "overlooks" the pool is owned by the villa managers, but they are out and about all day, so they don't have time to "people watch"! The school is not used anymore, but it does have a little play park in the grounds, but the only children that played on the park whilst we were there were my two children! With regards to the small gate at the side of the house, this never caused us a problem, and as already commented it is not visable from the road or as you approach the villa. The furnishings in the villa are fab, the villa itself is well presented and gives a comfortable and relaxing environment. The pool area is lovely, especially the little area of the pool that is fenced off, you can open the french doors and let the kiddies play whilst you are preparing meals, in the safe knowing that the pool is just deep enough for them to splash around in. There is everything you would need in the villa, including the washing machine which was an absolute blessing, especially with the kids. In the morning we would walk down to the bakery to get some fresh bread, and then we didn't venture out much during the day as we loved staying at the villa, and as there was everything at the villa you needed, why would you want to be anywhere else? In the evening we strolled down into the village, to have something to eat and to see our friends. Sophisticated couples and families would want to stay at the villa and in actual fact we were only there for two days, and we e-mailed the owners planning our next visit!! Please visit the Helios Court Villa soon, you will not be disappointed!

We would not usually post a comment on a holiday website however we were so shocked and surprised by the last reviewer's comments that we feel compelled to respond
PLEASE DO NOT BE PUT OFF BY THE PREVIOUS REMARKS!
We have visited this villa on 3 consecutive occasions and we love it; in fact we are counting the days until we go back again
We are a professional couple with high standards (at least we thought they were until we read the last report!) we stay in 5 star hotels all over the world but we love to relax in the surroundings of Helios Court. We visit with friends who own high quality villas in Athens; they adore this villa too. So to respond to the comments; for some reason I feel defensive too, I guess that says it all!
The large house referred to is owned by the villa manager and her husband. They are a delightful couple who live alone and are at work all day. They would certainly not spend their time indulging in the sport of 'holiday maker watching' and would actually have to crane their necks to do so due to the height of the window in their property. Additionally as she manages Helios Court I am sure, had any of the issues in the last report been raised by the previous reviewer, hey would have been resolved instantly as she goes out of her way to be helpful to her visitors
The school is no longer in use so that is not an issue; you might see the occasional small child on a swing in the playground; I think that happened once.
The small gate at the side of the house is not visible from the road or as you approach the property at the top of the drive; in fact we remarked that it was a good safety feature as an escape route from the rear of the property.
As for the furnishings, we have stayed, at double the cost, in villas owned by prestigious holiday companies where the furnishings are of a considerably lower standard than these. Now if you are expecting a contender for an editorial in Home and Gardens, if that is what the previous reviewers definition of sophisticated is, this is not it- thank goodness. However it is a well presented, comfortable and relaxing environment where you do not have to be on tenterhooks all day for fear of damaging the Versace furniture; at this point I do confess that we sit on towels inside the villa for fear of getting sun lotion on the cream sofas!
The villa nestles into the hillside in the charming and unspoilt village of Arrilas and is a perfect fit for it's surroundings.
The owners are really great to do business with; they go out of their way to be of help and to ensure that you have a wonderful time. The guest book is packed with many amazing comments, none of which are at all critical, just testimony to wonderful and happy times. If the owners were at all defensive I am not surprised because, this is probably the first time they have had such comments made and, as I said before, I feel that way too!

Sub standard cleaning / cobwebs, rotting fruit left in the kitchen area / and a stale smell from the Lounge throughout our stay.
We selected this villa, based on the pictures and website information.
Looks better on the website because, the pictures are 3 years old and (at best)
‘artistic licence’ litters the descriptive matter.
There were many 'discrepancies' on the website, the following being just a few,
..‘totally private pool area’ / ..‘Luxurious surroundings’ / ..‘for the more sophisticated couples’
The pool is overlooked by a large house, and partially by another house and a school, and the area gives free access to anyone, via a small gate at the side of the house.
Not by any stretch of the imagination, is there anything ‘Luxurious’ about the surroundings. The furnishings are acceptable, but clearly aimed at the Family holiday rental market.
And ‘sophisticated couples’ would not want to stay here.
From the outside, the villa looks very impressive, and is perfect for people not bothered about having total privacy and fine comfortable furnishings. This northwest part of
Corfu is well worth a visit.
The owners were very defensive on all the points raised in our ‘requested feedback’
after all, who would ever admit to substandard work?
We hope, and suspect the cleaning will be improved for future guests.
Also we have requested that the owners revisit their websites to address the misleading statements. We will return, but not to this villa.

We stayed in Helios Court Villa, Arillas for 1 week in August and had a fantastic holiday. We took our two teenage children and 3 of their friends. When we arrived at the villa everything was immaculate and there was a much appreciated 'welcome' pack of essentials which meant we didn't have to go to the shop straight away.
The villa looks very impressive from the outside and is beautifully furnished on the inside. The pool is spotlessly clean and pool area is very spacious with plenty of shade from huge umbrellas, also it was great having a selection of lilos etc to use.
We all thought the location of the villa was excellent. Being on the edge of Arillas it was very quiet and peaceful but is just sbout a mile to the beach and restaurants so we were able to walk to the village for dinner in the evening and stroll home afterwards. In the day time some of our group were able to walk to the beach for a change to sitting by the pool. So often lovely villas like this are located in much more remote locations and so you have to rely on the car for going out to eat or to the beach.
Arillas is a lovely village with a good number of restaurants all of which we thought were very good value. Wherever we ate we were made to feel very welcome and the food was always delicious. The Malibu bar served delicious cocktails and this is where our teenagers spent several nights dancing in to the early hours.
The younger members of our group had the best holiday ever for two reasons, one is all of the above and the second is Sidari. This is a completely different town to Arillas, at night it comes alive with night clubs which stay open until day break. The great thing for our teenagers was that it is only 6kms away so they were able to get there and back very easily by taxi. Sidari is not the place I would want to go for my holiday but it was brilliant that it was only a taxi ride away.
All in all our holiday in Helios Court Villa was a huge success. In fact we all had such a lovely time we have decided to go back next year!
