full of flies

we have just got back from a 2 night camping trip to this resort and i will not be returning in a hurry.
i agree with the other review about the difference between to two camping fields - one is a lot better than the other. i had the misfortune to go in the worst one with the porta cabin toilets and showers. there are no specified pitched so you end up with tents being very close to each other so u can hear everything thats going on in the tent next to you. the field was full and i mean full of flies at all times of the day. they were everywhere. kept landing on u - disgusting. bins overflowed with rubbish - there were none in the part that we stayed. no facilities to dry your hair - only in the warren shower block. staff not helpful. chippy cost £14 for sausage chips n gravy x3 and made us ill. the farmers inn pub thing was too small to cope with the amount of people. kids antertainment was ok - my 5 yr old enjoyed himself. beer overpriced and seriously watered down. we had at least 4 pints each (im a slim 25 yr old woman) and usually i would be a little tipsy but nothing!!! also the same round of drinks seemed to cost different amounts depending on which staff member served us. a four pint pitcher of lager and a fruit shoot came to £16.80!! WE didnt sample the pool - was packed full of gypsy kids and boisterous lads - u just dont need it with a 5 year old. the campsite is really rough! the fact they needed 3 bouncers on the doors to the club house said it all really. big disapointment and will not return there again.

Hi,
I've just come back from a weeks camping at Park Resorts. Although we had a fantastic time, great family and friends and good weather. The parks entertainment was poor, my 4 year old boy thought it was good though Sparky and Krew but they were acting threw a backing tape and also they were not on for very long. 2 of the nights they did a good show though but that was it. It just seemed too commercialised , 30 minute show, shop open to spend lots of money on gatchets for the show then that was it. Entertainment for the adults would then come on which repeated twice whilst we were there. 5/5 i would give , you could not hear your self speak it was that loud as well. They had another entertainment room but nothing ever going off. The toilets were always swamped out with water, taps left on, and toilet roll all on the floor. Always a funny smell when u walked past.
The facilitied in 'the warren' where we camped were ok. And the area was always kept clean. Park was very good as this looked quite new. There was a fish and chip chop on sight that was always closed at night, but across the road was a takeway place that seemed ok. Although the holiday was good i would not stay at another Park Resorts site. Just felt the up keep of the place was'nt very good.

Ty Mawr Holiday Park , a Park Resort site in Abergele, North Wales. There are 2 camping/touring fields on this site. One is considerably better than the other with a permanent brick built toilet block of a reasonable standard. The other area called 'The Meadow' is basically a large field with somne electric hook ups, large commercial bins dotted around and a cluster of portacabin toilet/shower and washing up facilities in he centre. The bins were pushed around by different camprs away from their pitches. The bin men driving around the site weekly at 6.30am. The facilities, toilets/showers etc were some of the worst I have seen. Had I known that they were portacabin facilitie, I would not have made the booking. There were no bins in the facilties, only sanitary bins. All rubbish such as cotton wool, nappies, cotton buds etc was thrown on the floor or left on he shelf above the sinks. The cleaning of the entire block was inadequate. The male cleaner could not cope. There were 6 female showers for the whole field. The washing up area was left in a disgrace. There were no facilitieson this field for emptying grey water or rinsing out toilet cassettes. Drains next to water taps dotted about were constanstly blocked.
The pool was described by our children as cloudy with ' things' floating around. Also the pool closed around 5pm every day, no good if you want to swim in the evening.
We have been camping and caravaning for many years and have never had such a bad experience. We have complained although I do not expect to get much response as I believe they will be used to complaints.
This site might be suitable for younger, rowdy people who are not bothered about decent facilities and have not paid £35 per niht, which is what we paid.
Our holiday was only saved by the weather and our friends who were with us. If we had not had these we would have moved on and paid more money to stay else where.
