Hi. My Girlfriend And I Stayed Here For 2 Weeks Until April 28th. This Hotel Is Great For The Price $50 Pn Standard Room. Room Is Small But Perfectly Ample, Shower Is Powerful, Always Hot Water, Air-Con Always Worked. Space For Hanging Clothes And If Ur Worried About Where To Put Your Suitcase- Shove It Under The Bed, Problem Solved!! Bigger Rooms Available At Extra Cost. This is a great little hotel for the price. Rooms are small, including the bathroom, but our nicely decorated & kept immaculate. We stayed there for nine nights, which gave us plenty of time to appreciate the convenient location to the beach & nightlife (you're one block to the beach & one block to 5th Ave, where all the restaurants, bars & shops are located). This is a charming small hotel & great for folks on a budget. The rooms are small,, but immaculate & the grounds are nicely maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful.It is between the main drag (Avenida 5) and the beach. Unless you REALLY like lots of noise and activity, you are better off not being on 5th Av. The only negative we found was that some moisture from the airconditioner in the room above us was dripping on to our airconditioning unit making an annoying sound at night.

Watch out for room 15! There was a terrible sewer smell coming from the shower drain. We had to keep the bathroom door shut with the fan on all the time! Also the roon was so small I didn't have a place to set my suitcase.

I joined my sister and her husband for 4 nights of their 8-night stay at the Kinbe. They had a junior suite which was quite small but very clean. The in-room safe and refrigerator came in handy. As the extra person, I got the futon type mattress on a chair frame on the floor--sounds awful but it was actually quite comfortable. The shower had good pressure and the water was warm enough. we stayed there 2 nights. the rooms are tiny but also very nice (way nicer than some bigger and more expensive hotels). located near the beach a few steps from 5th avenue. this hotel is okay for a brief stay and i don't think it will be appreciated by the kind of people who are staying for more than one week in playa del carmen. anyway, i wouldn't recommend playa del carmen to travellers, interested in mexican culture.

We stayed February 19-26 at the Kinbe in a standard room with an ocean view. I was a little nervous about the hotel after ready some reviews about a mold/mildew smell in the rooms. We never smelt a thing, and had no problems at all. The rooms are small, but clean and we had no complaints at all in this category. The staff is friendly and helpful. I absoulutely loved this place. Our whole idea to visiting Playa was to relax and get out of the city life. This hotel adds to the whole package. I felt like I was in the middle of a tropical forest. The sounds, the lights, the ambiance are so intoxicating. The room is a bit small with no frills, but it was clean. The bathroom could use better lighting. If you are on a budget and want a small hotel close to the beach and close to Avenue 5, then maybe the Kinbe Hotel is for you. Front desk and check in process was quick and friendly, however, be preapred for extremely TINY accomodations if you book a standard room! The rooms are very small and can barely fit a standard sized bed. There are no closets and not a lot of extra space for your stuff. I have always been a Hilton Honors or Intercontinental guy, but my girlfriend travels cheap, thus, we chose the Kinbe. The staff were more congenial and helpful than any other hotel I have stayed at. In addition, the rooms are fine. You won't find little bottles of Crabtree & Evelyn, but the rooms stay cool with the air conditioning & they are clean. I would reccomend getting one with a view (there are 2). We did not book our hotel until we arrived, when we got there we were lucky enough to get the room with a balcony that has the view.... more
