Lovely hotel, coolest art in all the rooms lovely decor, beautiful view of the eiffel tower and street below from the window. Also love all the little personalised toiletries- cant remember who they did the collab with to create their unique fragrance (Maybe guerlain?)... more

Was very nice
We just returned from a 5 day trip to Paris for christmas and staying in Hotel le A made it that more special. The modern design is very special and all the rooms are equipped with Flat screen TV's and CD player. The lobby has got a real fire place and it is very relaxing to sit there. It is just 2 min walk from Champs Elysees and you have loads of good restaurants in the area. Being a boutique hotel it is indeed very expensive but we found a deal of 4 nights for the price of 3. However, we did find that the Superior Double room was very small and there was nowhere to put a suitcase down and not much space to move. Fortunately (unfortunately)there was a leak in the bathroom tap and they upgraded us to junior suite and that was much bigger and nicer but we must say that in other hotels this could be the size of a very spacious regular room and not really a suite.
Characterless
My husband and I went to the Le A Hotel for an anniversary weekend based on its inclusion in the Mr & Mrs Smith European hotel guide .... our experience was nothing like their glowing review. Ok ... its 'cool' but cold ... as in wet fish. There was no atmosphere at all. The breakfast was OK although not much choice and sullen staff. You would think we were asking for a lot when we ordered coffee. The same when we ordered drinks in the evening. The bar was always empty. The room (junior suite) was a good size (great shower)and the hotel is in a good location for shopping and sightseeing but I won't be staying there on my next visit.
A cool place for the hip travellers!
I was here for a business trip and I was delighted to stay at Le A...Excellent staffs and service! Love the top floor rooms with the open roof top window. I come to Paris 4 times a year and this is definitely the place to stay without a doubt!
Motel 6 for Ritz prices
At arrival in a pouring rain, the attendant waited until the bags were brought inside the hotel, by us, and then hurried to pick them up and deliver them 5 feet to the reception desk. It went downhill from there. The room was supposed to be a suite, for about $625 per night. The "suite" was dirty, noisy, dark, tiny and frumpy with a wonderful view of the, very, nearby brick building. After several tries on the "in room high speed internet connection" we were informed that it would be necessary to buy a one hour internet access ticket for $13 dollars from the front desk. In the morning leaving the room we both tripped over the vacuum hose that was left just outside the door where the, non-existent, newspapers were meant to be. We were told to be more careful. In the middle of breakfast, the cleaning crew decided that the only place to start the vacuum cleaner was right by the table. Ah yes coffee, croissants- how did they find less than mediocre croissants in Paris?- and the dulcet tones of that vacuum. The doors are locked at midnite and you need to wait for the attendant to come- 5 minutes- 10 minutes- 15 and counting. Its cold - its raining and we are waiting and waiting. This is supposed to be the "hippest, highest service" hotel in Paris. Perhaps they mean Paris,Texas.
Wonderful but too small room
Agree with previous review. Gorgeous hotel with personal touch and very helpful staff. But.…… the superior room (their "standard" room) and bathroom were the smallest ever experienced. Room was 90% occupied by a (small) queen bed (I imagine it was 140x200 cm). Bathroom was 50% occupied by the shower (I'm not joking!). That was very, very frustrating. I was obliged either to stay outside the room or to stay inside the room sleeping. Is it what you want from a > 200 € "superior" boutique hotel room? If you decided to stay in the hotel I highly suggest to have a junior suite otherwise it will a waste of money
Absolutely amazing!
We stayed here for 3 nights in October 2004 for our wedding anniversary and we were absolutely thrilled at everything. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who are friendly and approachable. It very much has a family-run atmosphere. We stayed in a Junior Suite, room 303, on initial arrival, but we requested a room change due to the nightclub and street noise which others have mentioned. I went to reception at 2am, bleary eyed, and was advised that in the morning we could be moved to the same room type, but at the rear of the building, room 505. This was fantastic and you couldn't hear a peep! Even though room service finished at 10pm, the guy on reception made me a cup of tea to help me sleep, a really sweet touch and much appreciated! It is a bit costly, but the style, location & staff absolutely make this a worthwhile choice when staying in Paris. We would definitely stay there again. A word of advice though, if you are going to stay here, fork out for the largest room you can, it will be worth it. Also, if you book through the Hotel's own website you will get 20% off online, it was a huge saving!!
Minimalist masterpiece, expensive
Great interior design, all Starck and Liagre. Service was excellent, they booked all our restaurants and reconfirmed as well for us. There is a trendy bar near the lobby but it was deserted the entire time we stayed there... the bartender must get lonely! Rooms were very comfortable, an interior designer's wet-dream, but unfortunately our room faced a nightclub. Its patrons started leaving at about 4 am and made so much noise we hardly got any sleep after that!
Boutique with a personal touch..
Stayed at the 'Le A' for 3 days in May '04. Thought the location was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our deluxe room was very beautifully decorated if a bit on the cramped side. Bathroom was one of the best designed and decorated I have seen in a while. Only let down was the bar area - we went down for pre-dinner cocktails, hung around for 5 minutes with no staff or other customers in sight and ended up just leaving - bit quiet for my liking! If you can get a good deal (booked with expedia) this is a very nice, modern, fresh hotel, although a bigger room would be nice if your staying for a while. The hotel also has lots of restaurants within 5-10 mins walk and a very handy metro within 2 mins walk.
Beautiful Minimalist Design, Teeny Tiny Room
It is true, the interior design of this boutique hotel is gorgeous and the attention to such details as the lighting controls and bathroom fixtures is a handsome touch. All of this becomes secondary however when the comfort level is compromised. That is unfortunately the case with Hotel Le A. The incredibly small size of our De Luxe category room was surprising. The queen size bed occupied 90% of the room with barely enough room to walk around. Only two small closets, one with shelving and the other a wardrobe not big enough for more than a few clothing items. No place for luggage except for the border of our bed. We literally had to leap over our bags to get to the bathroom. Because of such cramped quarters, we tried to spend as much time away from the room as possible, which is a shame. For the price of staying at this hotel, there are many other options in Paris to have a beautiful and reasonably sized room.
Top
Top class design hotel were it is a pure pleasure staying. We had a big room equiped with CD player, LCD tv and dimmable lighting. The decoration is very modern and it was a real pleasure coming "home" to this room after a days work. The bathroom is as large as the room with full bath and separate shower which has a fantastic massage beam, perfect to wake up in the morning after having hung out in the hotel's bar annex lounge. Here you can sit and enjoy the hearth fire and do some reading up out of the extensive library featuring books on design, fashion, wildlife,... The service was impecable and when staying in Paris, we will surely return to Le A.
