My husband booked us into this 'Urban retreat' as a getaway. Im 6 months pregnant, and exhausted, so it was to be a really relaxing break.
We arrived to be put in a 'courtyard room' which resembled a heroin addicts grotty bedsit, and smelled like a damp shed.
No curtains, no lampshades, stains on the carpets and walls and no blinds in the bathroom.
trying not to burst into tears, i waited for my husband to complain.
We were offered an upgrade at £25 per night to a 'premier sea view room'
The room was slightly better than the heroins bedsit, but smelled, was dirty (hair in the bath, dusty sides, dirty stained carpets) and very noisy.
I was booked into the 'spa' for an afternoons relaxing pamper session but after seeing the state of the room and the hotel decided to check reviews of the spa....which were awful!
We checked out the next morning, not even stopping for breakfast (the kitchen was grotty and had yellow dirty stained walls.)
We asked for a refund, only to be told this was not possible.
On enquiring how they got their 4 stars, the manager told us they 'self starred' for lastminute.com.
My relaxing weekend away was a stressful, terrible weekend in a hell hole, and the only good thing was coming home.
DO NOT BOOK INTO THIS SHABBY HELL HOLE!!!!!!!!!!
