Hotel Luxembourg Parc

This is an excellent choice for the sophisticated traveler who has been to Paris a number of times and doesn't want to spend a fortune in the upscale tourist hotels in the 1st and 8th arrondissements. It's a bit out of the way, but that buys you quiet and a nice Paris neighborhood to walk in. The rooms are charming....ours was spacious, had beamed ceilings and a large, modern bath. The staff couldn't have been nicer. We plan to return in October.

Charming place, charming people! Have just returned from four days at HLP...this will be our regular Paris oasis. Rooms are somewhat on the small side by American standards but accomodation is very comfy and well above most Parisian standards for four star hotels in our opinion. After hours of researching Paris hotels, we chose Luxembourg Parc based on reviews of other travelers, and not only was the hotel wonderful, it was one of the highlights of our trip. Although small, it did not lack for any of the conveniences of a large hotel. The rooms were beautful with very traditional Parisian decor. The beds and linens were exceptional. We stayed at the hotel New Years Eve 2004. The entire hotel was burglarized and we lost all of the belongings we put in our safe (30k worth). We then found out that the hotel had no video surveillence system. They placated us by saying they had insurance, but it's been a year, insurance has not paid and we've now had to hire an attorney.

On our last night in Europe, we splurged (230 euro/night) and stayed in this four star hotel, and boy, was it worth it! Our sumptious room was well furnished and spacious. The bathroom was magnificent, with marble from floor to ceiling. The king-size bed had two duvets, which were turned down at night. The staff was gracious and helpful. The hotel is just across the street from Luxembourg Garden and near the heart of St.-Germaine-des-Pres and its many fine cafes and shops. Just returned from a trip to Paris and other areas in Europe. After staying at many hotels at various prices our favorite by far was the Hotel Luxembourg Parc. We were staying there with other couples and each of the rooms were decorated in a lovely traditional style. The bathrooms were clean, of a good size and had all the amenities that one needed. My family stayed at the Luxembourg Parc for 4 nights with 3 separate rooms. 1 @ 230E and 2 @ 245E. We would be very happy to return to this lovely and relaxing hotel and enthusiastically recommend it! We just returned from a very pleasant one week stay in two rooms (one EUR 245 3rd floor courtyard-view room, spacious, the other a smaller EUR 230 side street-view room). These rooms were absolutely quiet--rooms facing rue de Vaugirard may not be. While the lobby is a little bit brass & glass tacky (so's their web site), both rooms were quiet, well-furnished, and very well-kept. Just returned from our stay at Luxembourg Parc and would agree with previous reviewers that this is an excellent choice. We loved the neighborhood--elegant shops, right across the street from the Park. We walked everywhere...6eme arrondissement is very central to the areas we enjoy, i.e. the Marais, Ile St. Louis, St. Germain. Rooms were 200, 230 and 245 euros and we chose a room for 230. My family and I just returned from our first visit to Paris during Spring Break. After considering the Four Seasons, Hotel DeCrillon, and Hotel Lancaster (and wincing at the cost for two rooms for 10 nights) I selected the Hotel Luxembourg Parc based on the reviews I read on TripAdvsior and in Travel magazine. When my two teenage daughters (who rarely offer praise of anything) commented on how beautiful the hotel and our rooms were I knew I had made the right choice.
