Stayed in Beaver Creek Lodge End of Feb 2009 for a week and have to say it was absolutely fantastic!
The lodge itself is set back from the road (and no, the building work going on nearby did not take away from views/tranquil surroundings), and has all the facilities you require. The website pictures do the place justice, we were very impressed.
It is only a 5 minute walk to Aviemore town centre, so ideal location.
Very spacious lounge area, kitchen is well equipped with all you need for your stay - utensils, pots, pans, even herbs/spices and fondue kit!!
Hot tub is fabulous and Jaccuzzi Bath and sauna are also great.
The twin room and double room are very spacious and provide ample living space. Dressing gowns and slippers were provided (I'd recommend using the slippers on way out to hot tub, avoid slipping over!)
EATING/FOOD
There is a Tesco in the town, which is handy, however, Frasers Butchers is fantastic.
Is certainly worth going to - excellent food - sausages, steaks etc were fantastic and the deli counter with olives, pesto etc was also very tasty.
GOING OUT
We tended to stay at the lodge, however, Mambo Cafe was good for few drinks - with pool tables upstairs.
For day time/families - Inshriach Nursery is definately worth going to. (Inshriach Nursery is situated off the B970 as you travel toward Loch Insh from Aviemore. (For GPS users, the postcode is PH22 1QS)
The cakes are all homemade and absolutely delicious! Plus, you can sit and wildlife from the bird watching area - great for a refreshment pitstop!
SKIING
We were lucky with the weather and got good snow, but even without a great deal of snowfall, we still found the runs good and well maintained.
We will definately be returning,
