Good Hotel Have No Complaints
I have been reading the reviews about the Four Seasons Hotel and some comments that was said about the hotel is very surprising, because I have been at that hotel about twice and I have found nothing wrong with the hotel. The staffs their are very friendly they made me feel very comfortable anything I needed they tried their best to accomidate me. I would leave my suit case open and come back and find nothing missing, the cleaning lady did an excellent job on keeping the room clean. The room they gave me was very lovely(no complaints). I have also find that the price is very affordable. I will be going to Jamaica in May of 2006 and The Four Seasons Hotel is where I will be staying. Keep Up The Good Work Staffs. And thank you for making me feel like I was at home.
Was not that bad
The hotel was ok , there is a pool and a bar that doesnt open until 4 ish. Expedia pictures dont really do the place justice. The breakfasts where excellent - Most staff where nice , there was only one rude man who slammed dinner on our table until i cuss him out and then he became nice. - if you get a room ask for a safety deposit key at reception - rather than going back. the iron was brand new (plug is in wardrobe - behind the clothes if you already hung them up ! dohhhh) Ironing board was dirty and in the upstairs rooms you couldnt get clothes on the end of it ..... down stairs was better , also some downstairs rooms had fridges - i didnt get one.... The fee , at the time the fee said 84 u.s per night , that turned out to be 92 becuase of tax. The hotel is ok , and at the time was much much cheaper than other hotels in the vacinity , plus there is internet . Its not bad , you wont get there and freak , it could be alittle cleaner mostly becuase of the squatted mozzies that people have got. If you have booked dont fret.....
Never stay here
Where do i start? This is a terrible hotel. All the staff, especially the lady owner are extremely rude. The rooms are dull and dirty, and anything you ask for is too much trouble. The only meal i tried was a breakfast on the first day, and from then on i ate out. The only advice i can give is NOT to stay at this hotel. It would be better to sleep rough.
Very Bad Choice 2X
As a Jamaican returning home for the Easter Holidays, I was quite excited to spend the weekend at this hotel. What a disappointment this was? The problems began when I was told that the laundry roon was closed for the night but I would've been able to "borrow the iron" on Sunday morning at 7AM. At that time I was given the run-around & told that I was mis-informed because the laundry room opens at 8:30AM. I eventually received an iron, but boy-oh-boy, it was the dirtiest thing I'd ever seen. It wasn't fit to use on the rug on my bathroom floor. I had to borrow one from a friend who lives miles away. Upon returning it, the receptionist found no fault with it. In May I visited the country again for my dad's funeral and thought I'd give it a second try. That did it for me. The phone didn't work and everyone kept telling me that the cord was bad. Maintenance did change the cord, but guess what, it still malfunctioned. There was roach in the bathroom, towels were frayed and yellow, the ice machine downstairs didn't work and the kitchen staff told me to walk up to the pool the fetch ice from the ice machine. Upon my check out day, I was given a phone bill for several thousand J$. The only pleasant face I saw was the cleaning lady who did my room. Thank God for her. She was a ray of sunshine. Please, Please, Please, don't stay there. Go to another hotel. Thank you.
Awful place to stay
The only saving grace of this place was the breakfast served in the restaurant downstairs. The bathroom had dirty corners and it was tiny. The general appearance of the bathroom was quite off-putting & made me wish I had rubber flip-flops. The towels had frayed edges and didn't look very clean. I tried to appreciate the obvious age of the place, but it's a place that needs cleaning. I'd recommend this place for backpacking students who are on a very tight budget, otherwise, go somewhere else.
Don't even think about staying there!
Upon arriving at the Four Seasons I should have known something was wrong. The office is very small and "Roach Motel" like. The rude, unwelcoming receptionist told me I had to pay for my week stay plus $20 US in cash before I could go to my room. Even though I hesitated, I paid and proceeded with my bags (all by myself) up two filthy carpet flights to my room. Of course, it was all downhill from there. The paint was peeling, the bathroom was smaller (with peeling paint) than a rat's box, and there was no iron. I asked for an iron and I was told I had to go back downstairs, outside and around the corner to borrow an iron. I finally said that is it! The lady did run out of the room and quickly brought me an iron. However, by the time she came back, I had callled the Hilton and got a room. I informed her that I wouldn't be staying and she had the nerves to ask me why. I quietly informed her of her dirty carpet, peeling paint and false advertising and asked for a refund, which I got, along with my $20 US deposit. Please, I am begging you not to go to the Four Season, unless you like "Roach Motels."
Four Seasons Disaster
Word of advice for visitors looking for a nice hotel to stay at in Kingston; do not venture near the Hotel Four Seasons. My nightmare started when my wife and I were looking for somewhere to spend a night. We decided to go to the Four Seasons as the other hotels were fully booked….Alas Big Mistake. We checked in at 10:30 pm…and we were not welcomed or anything. As a matter of fact the receptionists at the front desk were very frosty and looked a us as if we were disturbing them from their “busy” agenda. Nevertheless we decided to check in…..on reaching the room we discovered that there was no remote for the TV or for the AC Unit. We called the front desk…but received no answer…upon investigation we were told that the front desk closed at 11:00 pm and all queries were to be redirected to the security outpost. The security guard spent at least 10 minutes checking other rooms for two spare remotes to lend us. We finally managed to get a remote for the AC from another a room…but no TV remote. The next morning we decided to do some ironing…only discover that our iron was malfunctioning…we went to the front desk to get a different iron and to relate what happened the night before with the remotes. The receptionist…still being frosty…said that she could not give us another iron as the laundry was not open yet…interestingly no apology was offered for the remote fiasco of the previous night. So we had to leave the hotel to get an iron from off the premises. On checking out, we were still given the frosty blank treatment….no invitation to come back….which of course we would not do…even if we were being paid. It was interesting to note that 2 other guests who were obviously tourists and more significantly white…were given nice lovely warm welcoming smiles…almost as if it were a reunion of friends…..I guess the Hotel Four Seasons is only for certain types of persons. In my opinion based on staying at other hotels, the Four Seasons is the absolute Worst….the service is poor (apart from the Kitchen staff)…and the staff for the most part seems decidely hostile.
Nice and relaxing
The hotel is nice and releax with a good and efficient service. The room size is generous and confortable. There is a secured car park inside the hotel. There is a medium size pool which is nice to relax. The breakfast menu (not included in our price) was correct. It is a good address in Kingston.
really clean and safe
Its a difficult hotel to book as they don't seem to answer the phone... and the reservationist is often AWOL! Then they couldn't find the reservation once I arrived! But after all the silly drama, I was pleasantly suprised at how clean the place is and well kept, really nice - very German - property - The room was large and facility great.. good restaurant, clean pool, enough computers to pick up e-mail. Its not walking distance to anything so be prepared to get local cabs. Defo a great cheaper alt to the larger hotels in New Kingston
Quaint hotel in the heart of Kingston
This is a quaint, very clean, two story hotel in the heart of uptown Kingston. We drove in through a secuity gate, into a lovely "garden-like" hotel, with a large pool in the center. We liked the place as soon as we drove in. The rooms were large to our surpise, with an equally large balcony. Most of the rooms faced the pool. Area attractions are nearby, some within walking distance. My husband and I decided that if in the future we decide to forego the northcoast again, This will be the place. NO REGRETS! and great price compared to other hotels in the area.
