A perfect location, right by the sea opposite a little stone jetty where people fished. The hotel was simple but very well designed all white with blue shutters and a real Moroccan feel, though comfortable. The golden beach seeem to stretch for miles, quite unbelievable. The hotel food was disappointing, but an amazing fish restaurant in walking distance serves fish caught that day by the owners boat, as well as pizzas, further on there is small smart hotel with very good food and a riding stable. We visited Mdiq, a small fishing town with lots of restaurants(good bars in hotels but not around the town),took the kids to the water park. We took a guide to the medina in Tetouan: a colorful world from another century, but with the guide absolutly no hassle- even though we did end up buying a carpet!
Morocco is a good choice for a Med beach holiday unless you are a heavy drinking fan, the people are very friendly the prices are much lower than Spain there is so much to do and the different culture makes you feel you are a real traveller. Next time we will probably go self catering - there seem to be lots of new flats being built near the sea.
