The Spindrift Hotel Reviews

Short Break
10 / 10
Feb 2009, Robabody

Stayed for a couple of nights at the Spindrift Hotel this February. The Hotel is spotless, with great rooms and all mod cons (en-suite, flat screen TV's etc)and the owners, Ken and Christine Lawson, are realy friendly people who make you most welcome. We had an evening meal on one night and it was excellent, with the food all being locally sourced (the second night we went to the world famous Anstruther fish and chip emporium to try it and it was worth all the rave reviews it gets). The Hotel sits at the edge of the village and is a short walk from the facilites. The Dreel pub is worth a visit, real ale, log fires and friendly people but if you don't want to go out, there's an honesty bar in the hotel with a wide range of drinks to suit all tastes and a realy comfortable lounge to sit in.
The Hotel is ideally positioned if you are a golfer, with St Andrews nearby or if a walker, there is the Fife coastal pathway and other tracks nearby.

  • Advice: Quiet coastal village with a working harbour idealy placed to explore Fife
  • Activities: The Hotel's own food, The Dreel Inn, Anstruther Fish and chip bar, St Andrews
  • Good For: City Breaks
  • Board Basis:Bed & Breakfast
  • Tour Operator:Booked Independently
