One of the best ski areas but Courchevel 1850 is truly one of the worst resorts in the Alps, anyone who tries to say otherwise must be catatonic. Prices are beyond belief and the night-life is abysmal in comparison to Meribel, in fact in comparison to almost any other European ski resort.
1550 or 1650 are better, I'm told, but go to Meribel, it's easy enough to ski into Courchevel.
The Catina is a very tired bunk-house that is due to be redeveloped at the end of this season into Russian posh-flats. TJ's bar was the best in the resort, Le Jump is average. No decent live music anywhere in 1850. Rondpoint in Meribel is brilliant.
10/10 for skiing, 0/10 for Courchevel 1850 resort.
