Camping Acapulco

we stayed at the alcapulco site(family of four two lads 13 and 16)for two weeks in the summer of 2007. Big plus right away was no garish blackboards advertising "steak and chips" and "corrie at 7.30" on the boardwalks or proms. The alcapulco site(they should change that cheesey name) is a good one, however there are much better sites used by canvas holidays eg next door to this site is "the clarys plage" which is a million times superior still you could do much worse than the alcapulco site. The pool and terraces are fine and the general site is well kept. But the real jewel is the location "The vendee" it is a fantastic area for holidaying with a family. Hire a bicycle for a fortnight (100 about euro)and off you go. It is an absolute joy, our boys loved it.With the sun on your back passing through little french villages taking in the unique french ambience... wonderful. There is so much to do and see if you wish Grand parc puy du fou, Apremont, venise vert,les sables i could go on and on.I could not recommend a vacation in the Vendee highly enough. Oh.. you can much better value than canvas holidays or keycamp companies if you shop around if you get yourself to the vendee location that's the main thing. Then you can take it from there!! bon voyage
