First time I have stayed at The Bringewood, and for a relaxing time in a quality hotel, where you feel relaxed and feel it is your hotel( unlike other places where you are just a number or name)as the host welcome you so well. The setting is very unique in that it is in the... more

Very remote and peaceful
This is a great place to get away from it all. When you look out from the terrace you can see for miles and yet see no other houses. At night you do not see a single light or sign of civilisation. The food in the restaurant is fantastic and the service equally good if a little too formal for my taste, but the young girls have a busy time and really do get on with it.
Great Choice if you're in the area
I can continue the good reviews for this property. Good conversion of old barn. Rooms well equipped with PS2's and flat screen TV and all you will realistically need. Food good and to sit outside on the terrace in the sun looking at the superb view hearing nothing but birds and sheep was lovely. What makes the difference here is the effort that has been made and attention paid to small details e.g. hair straighteners for the ladies in the rooms, PS2's for the boys and a free Pimms served when we stayed on a Saturday night. You get the impression they are trying really hard and they deserve to be a great success.
Fantastic find, excellent food
We were searching for a hotel to stay at for our 20th Anniversary. Thanks to trip advisor what a find! right at the top of a hill overlooking the valley. The hotel is a lovely barn conversion, complete with swifts (which drive the owners mad!) and all kinds of birds so take your bins. It's all run by the sons of the family who own the farm, one of the uncles cuts the grass! and it has an integrity you just can't get in town. It was so quiet, the perfect place to rest up. It may be due to us staying mid week but they seriously deserve to be busier. The decor is modern, leather and wood and looks very expensive. It feels like you have your own alpine chalet complete with staff! the bedrooms were spacious and had tassimo coffee machines, a great hair dryer, plasma TV and PS 2! The bathrooms were spotless and complete with molten Brown products. We had the only room with a door to the terrace (No. 5) so stay there if you can. The Chef was exceptional turning out food around £25.00 a head which was the best we had ever had for the price. He is a real asset to the place. We had thought about eating out in Ludlow but when we saw the menu and wine list we thought better of it and it totally the right thing to do. Chef made terrific meals, local venison (shot by one of the owners) , the veal with crayfish sauce, melt in the mouth beef , fab cheese pate / mousse, and chocolate tart to die for! I could go on but you will see. Breakfast was beyond good, they really have the feel for quality. Neil one of the owners was really helpful and friendly but in no way intrusive and Pippa his girlfriend did most of the waitressing and was really lovely. Top tip, if you need 4 pillows you will have to ask as the rooms only have 2 as standard but they were more than happy to oblige. You may need more towels too if the man in your life likes more than one medium after all we girls do need one for our hair! All in all it was pretty perfect. We certainly will be going back ...
What a great place
We chose this hotel because of the great tripadvisor reviews. Although off the beaten track we found it without too much trouble and were warmly welcomed. The front desk was a bit underwhelming as it's part of the bar.The views were great and if we had stayed longer we would have gone out and explored the public footpaths which were in evidence. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. We thought that a welcome folder/file with hotel information eg how to contact reception if there was an emergency in the night...(no phone in rooms)...how to work the state of the art coffee machine and some local information.Neil did say that this was in the pipeline. The evening meal was one of the best meals we have ever had and the breakfast was great too. The lounge areas were good (although my husband would have liked the wide screen plasma TV to have been properly configured....he has a thing about unadjusted TVs !!!!.) with plenty of room to relax. Parking is great and there appears to be good wheelchair acess. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely quiet hotel to any of our friends.
Gorgeous setting, fantastic break away
We were after a late getaway and came across the Bringewood over the internet. Thank God we did. My girlfriend and I stayed one night and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel is wonderfully furnished and has an extremely relaxing feel about it. We stayed in a standard room which was more than adequate. The reception area / bar are very chilled out and it is perfect for reading the papers with a pint of Guiness (or whatever takes your fancy!) There is also Sky TV for those that want it. The surrounding area is very tranquil although we didnt really get time to do much exploring. We had planned to go to a nearby restaurant, but decided to stay at the Bringewood instead as we had been made to feel so welcome. It turned out to be a good choice - the food was fantastic and there is a healthy selection of wines on offer too! The hosts, Steve and Neil were very welcoming without being too in your face and we will definitely be returning later this year!
Excellent, couldn't ask for more for a weekend away
We stayed for 2 nights and wished it was more. Neil and his staff made an excellent hotel into a fantastic weekend, they are attentive without being in your face, freindly, relaxed and somehow just always there when you need more drinks, eats, information, discussion or help. The building has been superbly converted with great attention to detail, the workmanship and fitxtures and fittings that have been used are spot on. The views are superb, completely uninterupted top class English countryside, a great sun trap of a terrace lets you take full advantage, we spent the whole of Saturday afternoon basking in the sun, reading the papers and drinking a very nice Stowford Press cider. It is a very long way from anywhere, so we decided to stay in for both nights and were rewarded with great local food, served piping hot and full of flavour. Go here if you are looking for a relaxed, informal, cosy (but not dusty and tired like some places we have stayed) weekend away. We have already booked our next stay. Can't wait.
Smart and stylish
A smart and stylish hotel in a beautiful rural setting. Great bar! Spotless rooms. We paid £75 for our standard room, and £95 for a deluxe room for my mother-in-law and daughter. I'd recommend eating at the restaurant at least once. It's £25 for a 2-course meal, £29 for a 3-course meal, but well worth it.
Relaxing
We stayed at The Bridgewood for a special occassion, the main attraction being the oppourtunity to clay pigeon shoot. We were able to do this as a couple without anybody else. The staff are very accomodating, the facilities were clean, tidy and modern. The breakfast was fantastic and we also ate in the restaurant in the evening which was first class. We would highly recommend this hotel, and have already booked our next stay later this year.
Great hosts
Myself and my wife enjoyed a fantastic weekend stay in the amazing surroundings of the Shropshire hills at The Bringewood. As a relatively new hotel it had a great atmosphere and is a great retreat away from a busy life. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and offered good local knowledge. It had a very family feel to the whole place. Would definitely recommend for friends to take the time out and have a weekend there. I am guessing in the Summer the scenery will be stunning.
fantastic place excellent service
We have stayed here twice, both times were amazing, Neil, Steve and his staff are so helpful yet relaxed, nothing is a problem to them, the building is amazing and the rooms lovely. I would recommend it to anyone who wants 5star quality and service but without the price and pretence!
