Cotswold House

As there are two Cotswold houses nearby and with two similar websites, I found the the Cotswold house in Oxford uses the reputation of the 2nd in the Cotswold to drum up business. Not have gone to the Cotswold before we had no idea where to stay in the Cotswold and when the Cotswold house came up in Expedia, we assume it was the beautiful Cotswoldhouse.com in Gloucestershire that we had booked until we reached OXFORD and realised that we in fact booked the wrong Cotswold house but we were optimistic. The hotel is very outdated, it was a private residence that was turned into a four bedroom hotel. We paid an extortionate price of £110 a night for a deluxe suite which is situated just behind the kitchen, we had a good size living room with a electronic gas fire but because the doors that lead into our area was from the communal sitting room which connects from the kitchen have no lock so anyone could use it and the only thing that separates our living room from the communal area is a pair of see-through curtains so we never use it due to no privacy. The bedroom is a nice size and so is the bathroom but extremely outdated which are still stuck in the 70s. We had a Sauna in our bathroom which we used once but the water leaks on to the bathrooms carpet which creates a moth smell. The night of our arrival we were very welcomed and at breakfast Hilary and Derek we very attentive but by the second night, Derek stop speaking to us and it became more evident the morning we checkout. He didn't appear at breakfast leaving poor Hilary to do it on her own and as we were walking out of our deluxe suite as we were leaving, he was sitting in his office and couldn't be bothered to say goodbye, which I found extremely rude. Hilary is lovely and very accommodating. It's not worth the 4 stars that it has received from AA.
