We had booked this Spa weekend months before with Thalasseo.com. A complete package hotel, all meals (1 star Michelin) and 3 spa treatments per person plus the general spa.
(Over 1000 €uros for the weekend) We arrived on Friday night for their (Gourmet Dinner) not so maybe it was 1 star Michelin for a la carte but not for those on the special package. We had breakfast the next day and went to the spa in the morning. (the Spa was wonderful) Had lunch in the restaurant after which my Husband became violently ill to his stomach. The front desk helped me call a doctor who finely came around 20h45 and afterwards I went to look for an open pharmacy. Obviously we did not take our treatments as my husband could not be left alone. I advised the people at the spa (affiliated with the hotel) and they said come back in the morning and we could do it the next day. My husband was still very ill so I went to see the owners daughter who said that it could not have been anything my husband ate at her restaurant and the spa had to be cancelled at least 48 hours prior to a treatment so no changes and no refund. Well had my husband not eaten in their restaurant, he would not have gotten ill and we would have gone for the treatments. She wouldn't even give me a paper saying we missed the treatments for insurance. The insurance did not cover as it had to be cancelled before we left home. She could have said come back for the treatments another time, but she did not want to be held responsible for the fact that my husband became ill at her restaurant. We lost out on our Anniversary weekend, my husband was very ill for two more days and missed work.
As I said the Spa was wonderful what we got to do in the morning, the hotel nothing to rave home about but the attitude of the management was deplorable. I would never go back to the hotel and would not recommend it to my worst enemy.
