The Old Colonial Hotel

What a gem.. As the saying goes - looks can be deceiving... Don't let the ouside of the hotel put you off - Once we got to our room we were amazed.. Huge spacious and modern room with all mod cons inc free wi-fi. Fab bathroom with shower and clean fluffy white towels. The only negative thing I would say was that we had a standard double bed - which in such a big room looked lost. But, linen was clean, white with duvet and comfy pillows. I am well travelled (work for a major airline at Heathrow) and have stayed in many 5* hotels round the world and when I stay in the UK it usually annoys me how run down the UK's seafront hotels can be.. But this was not to be - room had everything we needed and was tastefully decorated. As well as the usual hotel room facilities, the free wi-fi was a bonus. Also nice little touches like bottles of water by the bed and ear plugs - in case you wanted to block out any noise from outside - but we didnt hear any, even tho it was a busy warm sunday evening with many people outside. The lady who checked us in was ever so friendly and gave excellent customer service, I think she was the managers mother. Nothing was a problem. Breakfast was included and in the pub/restaurant downstairs. Can't complain about this either, freshly cooked 'full english' as well as cereals, yoghurts, juices, toast etc. I would defo stay here again.......
