The Old Colonial was an impressive hotel situated on the seafront in Weston Super Mare, a lovely, traditional English seaside resort. My room was clean and had a sea view and while I was there on business I would happily go back with my family when the weather is a little more clement. The wind and rain made for a very dramatic stroll along the promenade but I think it would be more pleasant if the sun was shining and we could go for donkey rides on the beach. Weston Super Mare took me back to my childhood and it was a good reminder of happy times. The food in the hotel was brilliant as well, good old fashioned English food. I recommend it for a trip down memory lane and a nice family break!

We used to visit the old colonial frequently however we stopped going due to the lack of entertainment available at the weekends, and as it is clearly advertised on the signs its dissapointing to see that it is not the case as i would visit much more often as th staff and the atmosphere is good. I noticed the other day that they were FINALLY advertising a skool disco for a saturday night and will be dragging my partner alng for a good old fashioned knees up!! fingers crossed this is the start of the busy old colonial we all once knew and loved
