Comments:  FANTASTIC, EXCELLENT, SUPERB holiday, we are 44 & 36 years of age. This hotel is a great place to relax and unwind with the added bonus of NO children running riot.
I'm glad I ignored some negative reviews on this hotel as it exceeded all our expectations, some moaning brits will never be happy but we were more than happy with all aspects of the holiday.
Beautiful location away from the hustle and bustle but near enough if required and a gorgeous beach less than one minute from hotel. Maids cleaned, and towels changed daily, rooms great and air con very welcoming.
My advice would be to request a sea view as this gives sunshine on the balcony in the morning rather than have blistering hot sunshine all afternoon and evening blazing into the room, I felt it more pleasant to sit on a shaded balcony when you have had a full day of sunshine.
All staff very friendly and helpful. The food was well presented and of high quality and the waiting staff very efficient, I managed to increase my weight by 11 lbs in 7 days. Very hard working, polite and friendly bar staff soon remembered how we enjoyed our drinks.
This was a FANTASTIC HOLIDAY and we would definitely return.

Comments:  this hotel exceeded our expectaions , we had a fabulous time, our 28 year old daughter loved it. the only problem was not enough sun loungers people were complaining.

I know it is a public beach but it would be wonderful if the hotel could put some loungers on the beach this is possible as we saw some reserved further along .
then this would score 10

Comments:  I agree with last review, we stayed for a week and could not fault it really. Some people do just like to moan! Everyone we spoke to on our holiday loved the hotel. I would say that it is probably better suited to people over 40 as the entertainment is generally geared towards older couples. Having said that we still enjoyed ourselves and the beach which is less than a minutes walk was the best we have seen! The hotel and rooms were spotless and we were surprised to find that they changed towels and sheets daily. The food was always good and you really could go on holiday here and not spend a penny.

Comments:  Don’t listen to the moaners, some people are only happy if they are complaining!

Absolutely nothing to dislike about the hotel – book it up and have a fantastic time! I honestly do not know what is wrong with some people!

All the staff are lovely – I find if you are polite and smile at people, they are nice in return. Some English people are just plain rude to the staff and they don’t deserve it. They work so hard and do a brilliant job.

Food is plentiful and delicious – always different choices, something for everyone. The snack bar is excellent if you miss any meals. You could never go hungry in this hotel, food available at all times.

Hotel rooms are clean, towels changed every day and beds made. Bathroom was immaculate with a big shower screen which was cleaned every day by the maid! Very hygienic.

Beach is so close to the hotel with lovely clean sand and clear water.

Daytime activities round the pool are quite good and evening entertainment is okay. Myself and my partner are 28 and 30 but still enjoyed the bingo and quizzes. If we didn’t like the entertainment, we got a taxi into Alcudia town (4 euros) and went to the bars there. No big deal.

We had a great holiday and the hotel helped make it for us. We cannot wait to return here next year!

Comments:  Well what can we say... Apart from wow our first holiday to an adult only hotel and it was worth it. We came on holiday to relax and unwind and that is what we did. The hotel was always clean and tidy the staff had smiles all round. The distance from local attractions was only a walk away and the choices of day trips was just fab, we did the pirates uncut which was worth every penny a laugh a minute, the moon light horse ride was again wonderful and the marineland/aqualand visit was the perfect way to end our stay.

The location of the hotel was just right a 2min walk to the beach, a 2 min walk to the local supermarket, a 10 min walk to as many bars and restaurants as we could visit in 2wks. The whole experience was a worth while holiday and yes we will be coming back.

Comments:  We went at the end of October because it was half term week. The first bonus was NO KIDS!

Brilliant! - sorry families, but we've been there & done that, so it was a nice change to swim in the pool without being dive-bombed or to go into the lounge without tetchy children screaming or crying.

The second thing to hit you was that because it was the last week of the season, there were only 100 in the hotel the first weekend and 24 on the last. No problem with sun beds or getting a drink at the bar!

To be fair to the hotel, all facilities were kept going, no chairs removed or sun beds put away. The only thing that stopped was the evening entertainment on the Thursday, not that it bothered us that much.

The food was typical all-inclusive, buffet style with plenty of variety and quantity. Drinks were excellent, even the wine for a change. Having said that we did manage to drink them out of sherry, cider and port! By the time we left, a lot of the local spirits/liqueurs were gone so we were allowed the top brands without extra charge!

On the last day there was only half a bottle of brandy left - and no, we didn't rise to the challenge. There were plenty of alternatives to try out though and certainly plenty of beer and soft drinks. Another plus - fresh proper coffee at the bar, not that machine rubbish.

The staff were very friendly, almost in holiday-mode themselves and you could always strike up a conversation to practice your pigeon-Spanish.

One major drawback for us was the noise from some 4-legged friends in the cavity wall of our bedroom. The staff were dubious when I reported it but when I found some mouse droppings on the balcony, there was no hesitation in changing rooms.

None of the other guests had experienced this, so I presume we were just unlucky. Apart from this, the rooms were meticulous, cleaned everyday and even a drying rack on the balcony. The rest of the hotel was equally clean & tidy.

The location of the hotel is a bit out of the way but no problem if you want a chill-out holiday. It’s only about 3 euros for a taxi into Alcudia Port or the market, so it wasn't even worth queuing for a bus.

The weather apparently was the best for October in 21 years. 25-30 degrees each day. Another bonus!

If you want a bit of peace & quiet, stress-free holiday with no kids, then this is the one (at this time of the year anyway). We'll be back!!

Comments:  Having booked our holiday as a late deal, we then decided to read the reviews of the hotel. We were a little worried when we read them as there were several bad comments.

However when we arrived we were very pleased. We had booked a superior suite which was first class. Food was excellent, all hotel staff were polite and friendly, entertainment we watched four out of seven nights and enjoyed them all. The comments we read about tables not being tidied and queues for drinks was not our experience.

We used the taxi s quite a lot and found them to be comfortable and reasonably priced. We would go back to this hotel again only if we could have a superior suite as fellow guests said that rooms in the main hotel were not that spacious.

Over all a very enjoyable holiday.

Comments:  After reading reviews from people that had stayed in June and July we were also worried that we booked the wrong hotel, but have to say we enjoyed our week at this hotel! We found the staff to be friendly, ok the odd occasion bar staff were not always smiling but they were over worked most evenings but also we found that you didn’t have to queue for too long to get a drink. Reception staff very helpful and rooms were cleaned daily.

Ok rooms were on the small side but you only sleep in them so we didn’t find this a problem, as to glass door on bathroom, you can’t see from the other side!

Food was always varied for both lunch and dinner, desserts were best we have ever had in hotels in Spain! Hence waist line increase. Wine, beer and cold water available throughout lunch and dinner. Just keep an eye on your salad (this is my only complaint of this hotel) I did find a creepy in my lettuce!

Evening entertainment - make sure you see the Abba tribute band they were really good and entertaining as well with their comedy. If you don’t smoke there is a large entertainment room with air con or you can sit just outside if you do smoke.

Plenty of beds around the pool but unfortunately some people still have to get down with their towels just after 7am! Even though there is a notice about placing towels on beds but we didn’t find this a problem still found sun beds later in the day.

The beach is just over the road and was clean and tidy and the water was so warm! We went over everyday just for a swim but if you wanted to spend the day you could pay for sun beds and parasol but not sure how much they charge for this.

As I said we were worried about staying at this hotel after reading previous reviews but we enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again at this hotel.

Another point is that if you want a hotel with no children then this is another added bonus! The age ranges were between 18 to 80 when we were there so you didn’t have any screaming kids running down the corridors outside your bedroom!

We booked this hotel to get away for a rest and therefore didn’t venture out so we were ok with the location but we did see a lot of people hiring taxis most days, which I think were quite reasonable.

Comments:  Food Excellent (I’m a fussy eater) never had to wait too long for a drink at bar.

Certainly not as long as at my local. Situated a stones through from a narrow area of the beach which is great for a dip in the sea. Plenty of shops along main road on other side of hotel left and right.

Only problem I had was with mosquito bites. Had to buy a repellant. They never bothered my partner.

Comments:  After reading comments on this hotel for this year we were a bit worried that we might have chosen the wrong place to stay. How wrong could we have been. This hotel is the best all inclusive we have ever stayed in. The room was lovely bright and clean and the chamber maids cleaned the room and changed the bedding and towels every single day, there was carpet in the rooms which is quite unusual the air con was excellent and a nice little balcony to chill on.

As for the staff in the hotel we found them always polite and helpful. The bar staff were sometimes the only ones that were a bit grumpy but that’s because they were always kept busy. The restaurant was lovely the decor was nice and very clean as for the food it was fantastic so much choice even for the fussy eater and the quality was very good you even had real Pepsi 7up San Miguel cider and wine all in bottles which at lunch times you helped yourself to but in the evening you were served by the waiting staff which were all very friendly and polite. There was a snack bar but we never found the need to use it where we ate ample during meal times by the way at breakfast they have real English bangers and to much else to mention.

The hotel was right on the beach all you have to do is cross a small road and what a beautiful beach it is too the beach was kept clean and the water was clear and shallow.
The main town is either a short bus ride or a 25 minute walk away but there are plenty of shops on the way. All in all this hotel we would recommend to anyone we will be returning next year.

Comments:  I read the 4/10 review just before we went on the 15th July and I thought 'oh no!' How wrong could they be! Everything about the hotel was fantastic, the room, the food, the staff, the location, everything! The only moan we had were the other guests, the staff could not do enough and yet there were complaints and mutters about when it used to be Thomson Gold, blah, blah!

The choice of food was fantastic, every day and every sitting. People were queuing for the bar but we were never there longer than 5mins! The room was cleaned thoroughly everyday! The air con in our room was fab after a hard days sun worshipping, we left it on for the whole of our stay! We were entertained all day and night by Kirsty and Dom, the resident entertainers. They worked so hard for 12 hrs each day and always made time to make you laugh! The beach was beautiful and only a stone throw away.

We were gutted we only booked a week, no where near long enough! Can't wait to go again!

Comments:  Think we was there the same time too, 9th July, anyway, this was my first time there my boyfriends been many of times, when I arrived I would of noticed about the air con to be honest as we keep the 2 sets of curtains closed all the time as we used the room mainly to sleep in!

I can not say a bad word against this hotel and all the staff were very friendly always spoke to us, we was there for 2 weeks, as for ants they were everywhere not just hotel but the whole of the island, so that isn’t really there fault, there was always a bar member going round collecting glasses and wiping tables, so I cant say anything bad there.

Maybe your expectations were set just too high, I have recommended this hotel and will keep doing so, and will be visiting again next year, guess we wont be seeing you there!?

Comments:  Just returned from a weeks stay here, my partner and I were staying in one of the suites, when we booked we were told that these suites were superior but this was not the case.

The decor and fixtures were dated and while staying there the air-conditioning system broke, and due to the extreme heat it became very uncomfortable to be in any of the rooms. This was reported to the hotel staff who assured us it would be fixed straight away, however 3 days later the air conditioning was not fixed and no-one had even been in to look at it. We eventually were moved to a different suite. Despite these problems the suites do have a nice view with either a large balcony or terrace and access to a semi-private garden.

The all inclusive services in the hotel were also a little disappointing, drinks were fine but if you wanted a snack during the day it was difficult to get, the snack bar has limited opening hours and when it is open there is no organisation to taking orders and making food so you could wait a very long time for your food, if it came at all, more irritating was watching staff give your order to someone else!

The food in the restaurant was of good quality but the menu was limited and repetitive.
The location of the hotel was nice, just off the beach but is in a very quiet area and is quite a distance from Alcudia port and centre.

Comments:  Sounds like we where at the Platja D’Or the same week as the lady above. We arrived Sunday night and the air con was broken and not fixed until the Wednesday morning. This did make it a bit on the warm side but keeping curtains closed all day in the room while we where out did the trick for us. Sleep was fine, as was eating. As such I'd call the air con an unfortunate inconvenience, nothing more. These things happen after all.

The hotel was very busy so beds by the pool where at a premium and there did seem to be more beds broken as the week went on. However, we spent most of the week by the beach as the sea breeze made things much more pleasant for catching rays.

We found the staff - with the exception of one slightly grumpy bar lady - to be nothing short of polite and very hard working.

All in all, I'd agree with the earlier reviews and say that for the money paid this hotel is worth a look. While not "posh", it's certainly better than your average med hotel.

I'd recommend it to my friends that's about the most balanced appraisal I can give.

Comments:  This was the shabbiest most unkempt ant ridden hotel it has ever been my misfortune to stay in.

No air conditioning, ant infested rooms, pool area and bar area untidy, dirty and never washed. Water pouring in from the ceiling in the dining room. Chairs breaking at the side of the pool. Abrupt staff. Awful so called entertainment. Sleeping impossible as the rooms are like saunas, dogs barking all night.

Food excellent but too hot to stay long in the dining room. People were being moved to other hotels because it was unbearable. This was supposed to be 4T would give it a miss.
