Having read some of the reviews before leaving I was a little nervous about what we were going to find. But soon were wondering what all the complaints were about. We got to the hotel late in the night. But found reception to be very friendly and efficient. The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, chatty and always very helpful. The pool was great. Fantastic little play area for the kids. The entertainment was fantastic too. Most nights there was a show on. Johnny (the rep) did the mini disco which got the kids up (some parents too) and bingo. We took 2 young children and they had a great time. If they weren't in the pool they were in the park or playing football. Food was lovely and well priced. The beach was about 10 minutes walk away and stunning. Towards the end of the week we started wishing we were staying for 2 weeks. Me, my fiancee and all the kids had a great family holiday. We'd go back tomorrow if we could.

Just returned from the Mariners as we spent a fantastic week there! I could honestly not fault a thing with our holiday as the staff are so friendly, rooms are basic but very clean and all you need!, food absolutley gorgeous and not bad priced and the pool area was super!! Jonny the entertainer was excellent and always kept you laughin. Uncle festers bar across road from the Mariners is a friendly bar good for families and couples. I thought that the Mariners was also in good location of everything, beach was a nice 15 min walk, bars and restaurants down the harbour were fab! you could walk or grab a taxi for 4 euros! I also recommend britanias a british pub and restaurant which serve great english breakfasts and you get a large portion and also nice dinners too! Overall i would give the Mariners apartments 10/10 and the location and resort of alcudia 10/10!

Cannot wait to return next year! :)

p.s ignore all those people that feel the need to complain about everything just go and see for yourself everyone has their own opinions on things.

Have just arrived back to the UK after spending two weeks at the Mariners Apartments.



Positives. If you have children, they will have a fantastic time, the reps are brilliant with them and there are all sorts of activities daily. The pool is lovely, a massive play area on the lawns and the gardens are a safe place to play.

The food is excellent and reasonably priced, staff are super.

Negatives. If you want peace and quiet, don't even think of going there!! Large speakers are placed outside the bar under cover and there is music all day long. The evening starts with the kids disco (they love it), then there is more music and/or live entertainment, after which is Bingo. We asked for a quiet room and got one two doors away from the bar. I asked the rep about it but was told the hotel was full. No joy there. After two nights I was suicidal. If you can sleep through any type of noise, good for you, because the noise can be heard streets away. As the bar closes late, holiday makers continue with their partying - great as they are on holiday, but if you want some shuteye you'll be bog-eyed in the morning!

Take care with the kitchen area. We kept getting electric shocks when the hotplates were switched on, and if we picked up a fork or knife from the worktop, we even got a shock then. When we complained, we were told to wear shoes when cooking. Not good at all.

The beds (settees) are rock hard and you may wake (!) up with a back ache. I found another mattress underneath the settee and slept on that.



Peurto Alcudia is lovely though it's about twenty five minutes walk away from the hotel to the port and beach. Mariners is also a little bit isolated from the main drag of shops though there is a good supermarket nearby which caters for most of everything.

Will definately being going back to Majorca, but NOT to the Mariners Hotel.

Just back from the mariners club with my husband and 2 year old son, had a great holiday, from reading the reviews on here before going I was a little anxious but the apartments are what you expect from a budget holiday,clean, simple and basic, but the sofa beds are much comfier than they look and the pull out bed has legs to turn into a double. Maids are great very friendly like the rest of the staff, the entertainment is great, live shows, bingo, quizzes and karaoke, Johnny the entertainers really good and the games during the day are good too, killer pool and killer darts are a must! Cheers is a cheap and cheerful bar, highly recommend it to anyone with young children.

I have never been or stayed in such a dump!! The kitchen was falling to bits and looked as though it had been installed by someone who had just spent 24hours sat at the bar! The main door lock was so poor that the gap between the door and the frame when the door was locked was big enough to put your finger through. almost everyone there put in a complaint about something but the manager said he had never had any complaints when he was approached. all in all the worst holiday experience I have ever had.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

FAB wot more can we say!!.

Hi me and my family came back from the mariners club 1 week ago well what can i say from start to finish the holiday was fantastic,the apartments are lovely and clean cleaners come round 3 times a week with fresh towels etc.

The pool is lovely and big 5 ft deep all over and also a kids pool no rush for the sun beds as thet is plenty.They is a kids club from ages 3 to 9 which lookrd good but my chilldren did not go.They is alwayas things going on in the day killer pool darts ans pool activites.they is also a spa at the top of the road but thy is a ceap eroski supermarkt which is about a 5 min walk.the night entertanment is great they is a kids disco and then a live show and then bingo this happens every night the ennertaner jhonny is great so funny and always thir if you want him for any thing we got on with him great.

the food is gorgous and ceap we did ea out but expensive and not as nice,the only thing they is mosquito so take jungle plug in and spray we are booking again for next year

The hotel staff were very good. The hotel is a fair distance from the beach and the surrounding area was very dirty with dog mess and rubbish etc. The rooms need major renovations because the kitchen unit and wardrobes doors was dropping off the hinges. The hob was loose and coming away from the wall, the bathroom needs work on them because of mould and broken tiles and dirty shower curtains.



The kids reps were brilliant and Johnny was brill with the Mini disco etc. The food in the restaraunt and bar was excellent.



WATCH out for the MOZZIES they will eat you alive so remember to take the mozzie repellent spray with you. We use to spray the room at night before we went out and when we came back the mozzies was no longer in the room until next morning when the doors and windows was opened. Overall the holiday was ok except for the rooms etc.

We moved in not hoping for a lot - we are NOT fussy people - but we got a whole lot less.



Doors on the kitchen cabinets hanging off, drawers could not be opened, everything kept falling out of the frige because the shelf guards were missing.



Loose tiles on the apartment floor were DANGEROUS - we reported them to Reception first by phone, then in person, but nothing was done. On our sixth day there a cleaner arrived and reported the problem again, without being asked but blaming US for the breakages - we cannot speak Spanish but my wife is from a former colony, the Philippines, and can understand much of what is being said. The tiles were fixed, after a fashion, but still left loose with one broken tiles put back in, we saw this as soon as we entered and when I went down to complain to Matthias, the manager, I was told the workman had said our kids must have trodden on them BUT WE HADN'T EVEN BEEN IN THERE!



PENNY PINCHING BAR STAFF



On the same day, the 6-foot leggy dyed-blonde waitress accused my wife ofn not having paid for a meal for our children TWO DAYS EARLIER, even though we had eaten in the restaurant that afternoon and othing had been said. What really had happened was that my wife, fed up with being ignored as Asian people are apparently invisible to Mariners Club staff, had gone to the bar to order, and paid up front. No receipt was given and the cash must have gone into someone's pocket! This wasn't rare, our neighbour was given change for 10 Euros when she had handed over 50. I was routinely short-changed and charged different prices by staff, e.g. 2.80 Euros for a glass of red wine on Tuesday, 1.60 Euros for a glass from the same bottle on Wednesday.



HYGEINE.



In spite of there being signs saying PROHIBIDO FUMAR at each entrance, people were smoking all around us, and this included the bars/restaurant manager, who was also sometimes the cook. Okay, Spain lags behind the UK in this respect, but the sight of a restaurant manager in chef's clothing with a fag dangling from his mouth as he turns over steaks on a barbecue, or smoking while serving drinks, is not acceptable anywhere. Glasses were not properly washed, and often had lipstick on them from the previous user.

This was excellent, and the kids loved it!

Me and my husband have just returned today 28 Aug and we has a lovely time, as it was our honeymoon we wanted somewhere quiet on the island, alcudia came up with marniers as accommodation.





We found the staff really friendly, apartment was nice and clean, only thing we would say is that some of the parts of alcudia were a bit dirty, (dog pooh) but the selection of bars and restaurants was really good, the beach was only 10 mins away and lovely aswell. i wood recommend this place the weather is ok aswell!

Having read some of the comments I feel I need to air my own views on the Mariners Appartments. We have just returned from our fifth holiday there and it NEVER fails to dissappoint. What do people honestly expect, your probably more likely to encounter bugs and rats back home. The staff at the Mariners are always excellent and accomodating, indeed a lot of them are still the same since our first visit in 1997. We have already booked to go back next August. All i can say is that if you have a young family, then this is the place for you, the pool is cleaned daily and is plenty big enough. The maid service is excellent and yes the rooms are a little basic, but be honest if the weather is good you will probably only need it to shower and change as the food in the restaurant is good value and always very tasty. Every year we go back and we meet someone who has been there on previous visits, and they are of the same opinion as us, that is of excellent, fun and safe environment for young families with a friendly atmosphere. If you want an enjoyable holiday abroad, looking to meet old friends and make new, then this is the place for you. If on the other hand you only go on holiday to moan about all the stuff you could moan about from home, then don't bother, just stay home as your distorted, innacurate views might actually put off someone who is looking to enjoy their holiday. For those people looking for a good holiday, read the good reviews, ignore the rest.

all in all a good trip apart from certain member of bar staff selling cocaine to anyone who asked a leggy blonde of 6ft plus doesnt need to sell cocaine to guests to get any extra attention please advise hotel manager as not interested when we left enjoy yourselves . apart from this all other members of staff were great

it was our second visit to the mariners,we went back because we had a great tine last year,unfortunatly i cant say that for this year,

yer you expect cockroaches but what you dont expect is rats on your balcony.yes you read it right RATS. i got sick of complaining nothing was done about it.i was told we will sort it out tomorrow but tomorrow never came,we couldnt sit on our balcony at night in case the little bleeders got into the room not nice when its so hot,even though we had air con its not the same and my daughter was terrified,would you be happy with this situation,

the entertainer johnny was very good but he wasnt employed by thompsons so he couldnt help,the rep tried but was fobbed off,talk about not getting any sleep now thats an under statement,i feel sorry for anyone who stays in room num 31
