Temenni Evi

My husband and I stayed at Temenni Evi (the house of wishes) for 5 days. We were met by the enthusiastic and welcoming owner, Sadi, late in the evening, who showed us our wonderful room and as much of the boutique hotel as he could in the dark! The hotel is a cave hotel, and was lovingly built (pretty much by hand) into the mountainside above Urgup with 360 views of the town. While staying in Antalya, my husband and I decided we would like to visit Cappadocia and wanted to stay in a cave hotel. Not knowing what we were getting into, but loving the idea of adventure, we decided on the Temenni Evi or Wish Hill Cave Hotel. We were not disappointed. We've been to Cappadocia before and while visiting the hill of Wishes (Temenni Hill) we have noticed that lovely hotel with unique architechture. But we couldn't stay there cause all the rooms were booked for other lucky visitors. This time we have made reservation 1 week prior to the trip to Cappadocia. We were lucky! After researching a number of hotels in Cappadocia, we settled on staying at Temenni Evi hotel as our first stop. We were not disappointed in any way. The hotel has outstanding views from the terrace where you can enjoy a relaxing and fantastic breakfast overlooking Urgup. In 20 yrs of travel with an international organization, this is one of the most unique hotel experiences I have had--and the first time I have written a review to share with others. The Temenni Evi, or House of Wishes, was hewn from the rocky caves of Temenni Hill-- the most scenic spot ın Urgup. If you are looking for a romantic, luxury botique hotel that is off the beaten path and you are tired of large places, this IS DEFINITELY the place to stay when you visit Capadoccia. I arrived at 11:00pm after a tiring day. I had not eaten and when I asked if I could get a small snack, I was treated to a freshly prepared full dinner with soup, salad, fried meatballs and tea!! This is one of those 'too good to be true' reviews, however this was a 'too good to be true' stay and was without a doubt the best I have ever been treated at a hotel. From the first moment the welcome was warm and genuine - we were encouraged to treat the hotel as our home, which is often an empty platitude but here really seemed to mean something. Don't mıss stayıng here - the best "luxury hotel" in Cappadocia in terms of beauty, best view of the area, sincere hospitality and helpfulness, and excellent value. We looked at other top-rated hotels in the area while we were here and we are convinced this IS the best. We have just returned from this lovely hotel and we couldn't help ourselves writing a review to share our amazing experience with other people who are in seach for a hotel in Urgup. Temenni Evi (which means House of Wishes in Turkish) is a boutique hotel with 14 rooms each decorated in a different and tasteful style.Once you step into the Hotel, you feel the elegance and tranquillity. absoultely astonishing! this little hotel should be a museum not a hotel! the rooms are decorated to perfection. they are cute, cosey, authentic, historical, everything you could imagine. The rooms are placed in the ancient caves and the artifacts are placed for viewing. Ask the very nice owner and he will make sure to give you a nice tour. Under the hotel there are even underground tunnels. one tunnel leads to this really romantic side of the mountain with an amazing view of the town.
