Comments:  I recently visited hotel delfin azul in alcudia for 2 weeks on half board basis. The hotel was clean as were the rooms and The staff were friendly.I wasnt too impressed with meal times,It was a self service buffet that was repeated every other day which i got fed up of!there was a choice of chips and fried eggs(even for breakfast!!) they must think thats all british people eat!!I got so bored with the choice of food me and my partner eat out the majority of our stay at a restaurant or either pizza hut,KFC or burger king!after id eaten at the hotel and were stuck in the room with severe sickness i didnt eat there again!!there was 1 waiter to serve approximatly 150 people a drink with the lunchtime meal! bed time was very noisy (not ideal for familys with young children!!) i stayed on the 1st floor and every time the guests in the room above us flushed there toilet it was like someone was drilling through our ceiling and at 2am its really not what u want 2 hear especially when your on holiday 2 relax!! i was so annoyed! the pool area was nice, except when a child soiled in the pool and it took half an hour for the staff to bother doing anything about it! there is a games area were ther are pool tables, air hockey and teddy bear grabbing machines there is also a trampoline and table tennis (which u have to pay for!!!)If you dont fancy going out after tea there is entertainment downstairs in the hotel every night which i dont recommend at all! If you have already booked to stay at this hotel i really hope things are different to when i visited if you havent yet chosen a hotel i wouldnt go for this one!!

Comments:  my partner and our 2 children have just returned from 11 nights in the delfin azul and what can i say......10 out of 10, fantastic food with a big selection, very clean rooms if slightly small, extremely polite and helpful staff especially Pep in the restaurant who shows you to a table every day and excellent entertainment if thats your thing.
The location is fantastic, short walk to beach and great sea views from our balcony.
Although we have stayed in Alcudia many times before in the Playa De Muro area and in plusher hotels, we found the port area to be better with more shops, bars, restaurants etc and this hotel offered excellent value for money with everything you need for either a relaxing or a fun filled holiday....the choice is yours.
We will definately return in the future...probably the only issue was the mixed weather but thats the risk you take if you go at this time of year.

Comments:  I stayed at this hotel for one week September 9th-16th 2008. The hotel room was of a good size and certainly adequate for the two of us. The room was very clean, as was the rest of the hotel with a change of towels every day. The evening entertainment was good most nights with live music/tribute bands etc. The pool and pool area was quite large with no problems getting a lounger at any time of the day. The pool itself could do with some refurbishment with some cracked and discoloured tiles.
However two major problems, don't expect a shower between 5 - 6-30pm no hot water and only a trickle of cold water , outside these times no problems. The food was atrocious both in quality, preparation and content. Easily the poorest hotel food I have ever encountered.
Because of this I would only rate it 2/10 and certainly would not stay there again.

Comments:  well i have just got back from staying here for 2 weeks there was myself my husband and our 2 children 9 and 5 also my dad stepmum and sister, on arriving at the hotel late at night as we did we all looked shocked there didnt seem to be much atmosphere but we blamed it on tiredness etc, our room over looked the pool (which looks bigger in the pictures than it is) which was nice we were on leval 5, now i think i will do bad points first the food!!!! i have to say there is not much choice of foods it was normally pork or processed chicken (which they say on menu is chicken breast) the kids food bar consisted of chips chips chips and chips and my kids dont eat chips so basically they lived on ice cream for 2 weeks ha ha which they loved of course have to say though that the desserts were nice so even if i didnt eat any main (which most of the time i didnt) you can at least get something down you, one thing that did let the hotel down was the entertainment was all inside i mean i think the weather topped 39C one day we did not really want to sit inside when it had been sooooo hot so we sat outside and could not see the entertainment,
The drinks prices were so so expensive in the resturant and bar for instance a simple fruit shoot for kids was 3 euros in bar at the shop up the road it was 1 euro 50 cent!!!
now the good things the rooms were all air conditioned which was very nice considering it had been so hot you could just go to your room to cool off and at least you had a good nights sleep so long as you didnt have idiots on your floor running up and down corridors all night, the kids reps done a game for kids every hour on the outside stage which was good
places to recommend are bugs bunny to eat its fantastic and very good value also an english bar round the corner from hotel The Foxes Arms does a gorgeous full english breakfast and a tasty sirloin steak in the evening as you can see we ate out a lot which we did not expect to do considering we booked a half board hotel.

Comments:  Just returned from an 11 night stay at the Delfin Azul. Stayed with my 11 year olds and had a good holiday overall. Hotel nice and clean, rooms comfortable, but a bit noisy at night sometimes, adults more to blame than kids!! Food was ok, we found it varied from either being very good and us eating well then other nights we would struggle to put a decent meal together. Having said that, we were never hungry as there is always nice soup and salad items, and kids loved variety of cakes! Went to beach most days, absolutely beautiful, sea clear and warm, then would get a bit choppier each afternoon. Lovely to walk along beach path into main town in evening, as locals seem to do. Found reception staff very helpful, especially Mar who is lovely. They will give info on buses etc. and speak excellent English. We visited Palma by bus, took about 45 mins but worth it, although very hot that day, even in the cathedral! Also took bus into neighbouring resort of C'an Picafort, very nice if you fancy a change of scenery, bus journey only 20 mins and only 1 Euro 35 each way. Hotel great for famillies, especially those with small kids.

Comments:  We stayed at the Delfin Azul for 2 weeks it was our first holiday abroad for 14 years after reading the negative reviews on here i was thinking what have we done, but i need not have worried so much. My two children ( 14 & 10 ) one of whom is a fussy eater absolutley loved it,as did my husband and myself. There was entertainment going on day and night. There was always something to eat, chips for the kids everynight if they wanted although they prefered the adult choices and tried lots of things.Yes the drinks were expensive but we seen lots of people us as well with drinks from supermarkets in bags nobody told us off. The hotel could be noisy at times at night but any one with children will realise this is a FAMILY hotel and trying to keep children quiet i.e. not talking at all when they are excited (about entertainment etc they are on holiday as well ) is almost impossible. If you want quiet, gordon ramsay food e.t.c book thomson gold. Somebody else said it and i will repeat it you get what you pay for a FAMILY hotel and we all loved it . Would definatley go back.

Comments:  Just got back from the delfin azul. Great holiday great location i read some reviews and was a bit cautious, but ive got to say we had a great time here its a family hotel so expect some noise but entertainment was great and day time activites at the pool side were good too for kids and adults . 10 mins walk to the shops 5 mins walk to the beach and the hydro park can be seen from the hotel and is a 10 min walk and its good fun (try the wave machine best we've seen). remember this is a 3 star hotel not the hilton so food can be basic but there is plenty on offer and a good varity. Hi to michelle, helen and jay. The hotel staff were really helpful and polite and the Restaurant manager pepe was excellent

i hope this helps

Comments:  Just got back from alcudia where we stayed at the delfin azul.We were a group of three adults and four children. There was nothing we could fault about it,there is a large pool with no scrambling for sun beds.If the pool is not your thing there is a lovely beach five minutes walk from the hotel.
All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful and rooms were air conditioned and cleaned every day.
The food was very good with a nice variety for adults and children.
Just outside the hotel there are plenty of shops and bars.
The entertainment was good day and night with plenty to keep the kids busy.
We would definately recommend it.

Comments:  We have just got back from the Delfin Azul. Our party consisted of myself, my husband. my mum and our 2 daughters aged 6 and 15. We had a fantastic time and i would recommend the hotel to anyone. We had read some horrible reviews before we went, therefore, we were quite worried about what to expect-shouldn`t have been bothered at all! The hotel and rooms were very clean, the food was lovely with plenty of choice(some of the reviews complained about the food-not enough choice, repetitive etc.) I totally disagree-one tea time i counted 19 different deserts and nothing was repeated throughout our stay - there are some people who just have to complain-don`t listen to them, listen to me! the staff were fantastic and we met some lovely people. The entertainment on a night was brilliant-a different show every night. There was also plenty of things to do throughout the day-killer pool, darts, quiz`s, pony rides, water polo and plenty of kids activities. My youngest daughter went to the kid`s club most days which she really enjoyed-the kid`s club staff were lovely. Alcudia itself is a lovely place and the beach is beautiful-only a 10 minute stroll away. unfortunately we can`t go away next year as we are moving house but will definately be goin back to the Delfin Azul 1n 2010-no doubt about it!! Excellent value for money.

Comments:  Myself, husband and 7 year old boy stayed at this hotel for 10 days. I was pleasantly surprised after reading a few negative reviews. The reception staff were friendly, the hotel was very clean and the rooms were small but extremely tidy.

Fresh bedding and towels were supplied every day, the meals both breakfast and evening were full of choice and the food was very fresh. Alot of choice for fussy eaters!! The restaurant manager would always greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome. All the staff in hotel were so welcoming and would help with anything you needed.

The pool area was busy but great for the kids. We had 2 hours each day to ourselves as our son would attend the kids club. Evening entertainment was provided every night, for kids and adults. The beach which is very close was amazing, so clean and the sea was beautiful. The hotel is near shops and restaurants if you want to leave the hotel complex for a while.

We would certainly return to the hotel. People save alot of money to go on holiday these days and luckily we weren't disappointed. We haven't been back long and I am missing it already. Go, you'll have a great time.

Comments:  I just returned a few days ago having spent 10 nights at the Delfin. I went with my husband and two boys (8 & 3). Location is excellent, 5 min walk to the beach and reliable local bus service which we used on several occasions. We had a family room with bunk beds. For a 3 star hotel the room size was acceptable. Rooms were cleaned and towels changed daily. Friendly staff speaking very good English. There was a wide selection of food on offer for breakfast and dinner that catered for all. The standard and quality of food was good. I was a liitle disappointed with the children's buffet which consisted of fried food everyday. But then the children can still choose from the main buffet which my boys did. Drinks are expensive in the hotel, which you need to be aware of. We bought water from the local supermarket daily. If you want a peaceful holiday without kids it's not the place to stay. Ideal for families. Overall we all had a great holiday. The resort is beautiful with clean beaches. Also be aware that you have to pay Euro 4.50 to hire one sun lounger on the beach (free at the hotel).

Comments:  My husband and sons aged 5 and 2 returned today from a 2 week holiday staying at the delfin and we had a fantastic time i felt i needed to write this as i expect a lot of you are concerned what to expect having read previous reviews as i know we were!
at the end of the day you get what you pay for- we considered our holiday not over priced however we did end up spending an extra £600 on snacks and drinks alone.. yes the drinks are very expensive however most people ended up buying soft drinks for half the hotel price from the spar next door and sneaked them into the complex.
if you are expecting jamie oliver or gordon ramsey to cook for you then you will be annoyed- you are going to a spanish island so expect to eat their sort of food ....when in rome etc etc. the food is edible there is a wide choice of FRESH salad each night, soup and a hot course for meat eaters or veggies, the kids choice consists of chips and fried food but my sons were also happy to eat what was on offer from the rest of the buffet. excellent breakfast- again the same stuff each morning but you can varey it between fruit- cereal -fry up toast pastries etc. coffee not so nice!
the pool is just the right size to be able to keep a close eye on the children a bit over filled with inflatables - beach = beautiful 5 min walk away. entertainment is cheesy but its a family hotel based around children and all the kids we saw loved the shows although 22pm is a bit too late for most. reps and staff lovely rooms slightly on the small size but we only slept in them too many other places to be during the day, our cases fitted under the beds good size wardrobe.

if you are a family with young children looking for a relaxing holiday you are going to the right hotel i would not recommend it for couples or older adults.
we willl defo be returnig met some lovely people very sad to come away!
